I’m 71 years old and have just started a photography journey. I purchased a Nikon D850 and enjoyed you video regarding the 850. I also am using a Brand New Nikon FM2N that has been sitting in a box for a very very long time. So I want to thank you for sharing you expertise free to the world. You are truly a very Honorable Gentleman to share this knowledge. Bruce
Very inspiring comment Mr King - I’m 56 and was with seeing have I left this new hobby to late but just reading your comment has made me realise I am wrong , thank you and all the best.
I keep trying to tell people that we can all adapt, learn and find new things to enhance our lives. We need to stop thinking that learning ends when we leave school. I hope that you are getting many new experiences that build real value for your life.
Agree. Respect for sharing and showing your knowledge. It is obvieoust when you apply it in practice because your business profitability will increase dramatic.
Thanks! I have enjoyed your content, should be contributing much more!! I am an eternal beginner, started in the 70’s in middle school (dreaming of the AE1) with my moms choice Cononnette 28, used many years, a few GREAT shots, but I never studied, I just shot. I have had several “beginner” cameras from Minolta x370 and srt101 to canon AE1 (actually those last two were much later, canon AE1 in the 90’s just before film supposedly died…. Now finding it isn’t dead at all, though still dying. I eventually got an automatic Ricoh Mirai to finish out film, then my first Digital Canon Xti, and just recently decided to get off the stick and lean into this a bit. I purchased a canon T7 and later an R50 (I am a distance “Biker” my Harley and I have covered some miles and I used GoPros to record my adventures, decided I’d like to try my hand at vlogging, thus the R50, but haven’t just done it, yet! This FREE course, I’m Hoping, will give me more Focus (see what I did there…. Lol) I appreciate your making this available for me! Thanks So Much! So sorry for the story!
Film is actually resurrecting. One man single handedly recused the old Kodak recipes, and people are even doing the wet plate processes again. B&H out of New York sent me my equipment to turn my bathroom into a darkroom. I started my photography journey in the early 90's but these guys are so great that I still learn stuff from them.
You guys are the GOAT Not only for doing this quality training and also sharing it for free, but not dragging it on several videos for reach Kudos 👏 👏👏👏👏
What a beautiful surprise!! I have looked at many filming videos on the internet. Your's is great! It was 2:20 AM (2 1/2 hours past midnight). I almost missed your training course because I try to go to bed by 2 AM or before. It is not fair that this course (tutorial) should be so hard to get! This quality tutorial should be available and it should be high on UA-cam list -- not hidden !! THANK YOU!!!!!
I’m 61, and have been taking pics with my cell phone and want to “upgrade”. I highly recommend this video to anyone considering buying a camera. I am getting a basic understanding of photography with the cell phone, and its processing in the phone. I’ve been applying the composition principles and taking tons of pics to get better. Once you watch this video, you will have a much better understanding of the camera features when Tom and Chelsea talk about them in their reviews. I feel like I will be much better prepared to make an informed purchase, and not be disappointed.
Thank you mr Tony and your team I have learnt alot from your youtube tutorials since way way back, I allows appreciate your insightful tutorial, I'm from kenya , Africa
I can't believe you did this. Not only a fantastic resource for myself but also amazing place to send my friends who start asking questions about photography. Thank you for creating this, I can only imagine how many days this took to complete.
This has to be one of the best free photography resources on UA-cam. It's been an enormous help in clarifying several things I'd been struggling with. Many thanks, much appreciated.
I've been shooting for 10 years but I will STILL watch this as I know I will learn something new. Much respect for making quality content freely available. JP - Australia.
Wow! Thank you Tony and Chelsy for your altruism and willingness to share, for free, this great, 7-hour photography 101. For that, I will pay for your books and learning series. I've always wanted to do so for a long time, but always hesitated for many unexplained reasons You've now confirmed that you guys are not just only doing this for the money, but you're truly and sincerely dedicated in sharing your knowledge and experience to help us bring out the creative artistic inner-skills. You guys are the Bob Ross of photography, and for that, I'm very grateful and thankful. I love you guys. ❤
My kids and me are reading your books together and have learned a lot, it has been a great summer learning program for us. We will definitely watch this video together. Thanks a lot!
Tony - THIS is the content that is MOST NEEDED by the beginning photographer - AND something that you are really good at. I know you have to generate traffic with controversial topics and titles - In spite of that, I really hope this serves your business and the photo community well.
It's older content, but your lessons are timeless. Thanks so much for sharing these! I wish I could send this to myself 5 years ago Long form content >> 30s tips
Wow. This is incredible value. THANK YOU for providing this complete online course for FREE. I've just shared it with my photography study, who is a Pakistani refugee in Thailand. She is using a Nikon D60. I'm excited to see how she applies the knowledge learned in your course to start taking photographs. I hope it changes her life.
Thank you!!!! Please don't ever take this down. I'm a newbie, and this is so helpful. I'll have to watch it in a couple of hour increments because there's so much to take in. Thank you again!
What else to say besides, thank you! Even though I know the majority of the topics it still is awesome to get that amount of information all in one place. This really is something special and a great counter weight to this scattering of ultra short information-fragments going on on that tiktok crap. You give the full picture. So again, thank you!
Thank you Tony and Chelsea. What you have given to people is tremendous. This knowledge will help people like myself and many others to have a freelance job. And to get some dignity, and to put food in table. We love you
I did a photography class once at 13 but all that learning went out the window so I'm now getting back into photography and now with a dslr digital camera. I love classes like this. Thank you for these lessons
Don't even need this tutorial but the fact that it's 6 hours long I had to come by and drop a like. Props and love for putting in the effort to make something like this for us ❤️❤️
He only gets money when an add plays, at most you're maybe helping the algorithm to find his video and share it to more people, but eh its the thought that counts
I can't believe this is free. Fantastic job, I'm learning a lot of useful information, I was especially surprised how much I didn't think about regarding composition. This has lots of concepts that are easy to understand and also in depth enough to learn plenty. The use of dozens and dozens of example photos is a marvelous learning aid for each concept you teach. 10/10 guide, amazing work.
I volunteer for a fundraiser "Ride For Roswell" cancer bike ride in Amherst NY by taking photos to help document the event. Your tutorial to shoot in manual and leave the ISO in auto mode worked great! Plus I used your back button focus and it worked out fine....Thanks to you and Chelsea for the best advice. Been a subscriber and book owner for 4 years..
This is incredible of you to share with us for free😮As a beginner (got my first camera a couple of months ago), this is absolute gold! There's an abundance of nuggets just 30 mins in🤩Fantastic delivery and examples as well. Thank you so much!
I got my first Dslr 2 weeks ago and this is absolutely what I've been needing. Thank you so much. I've been watching your channel nonstop, I'm positively addicted
What a great contribution to the community. Loving goatee throwback Tony too 🤣 This is a great offering for beginners to advanced. Everyone should circle back to the basics periodically. The more experienced we get, the more we tend to fixate on they very granular marginal improvements, potentially losing focus on doing the basics brilliantly. If you think this type of video is "beneath you" you're probably the intended audience.
Good day sir I attended your first chspter on fundamentals of phitography and was really happy the way you have covered the capter. To the point and informative
I’m seriously considering photography as a hobby and I’m really interested in learning about it. I’ll definitely be back to watch this when I have time!
Tony and Chelsea - This is exactly what I needed! I am very grateful for your generosity. Your teaching has given me so much confidence to pursue the art of photography. It took me several days, but I made it through this whole video. So much great info & a fabulous reference. I love your books SDP and Lightroom. Many thanks for sharing your joy and knowledge of photography
Recently purchased a Canon 7D relatively cheap so I could learn photography. Well let’s just say I fell in love with it almost instantly!!! I’ve been spending any extra time I have taking pictures everywhere I go !!! 😂 However, now I’m always mentally framing up my surroundings in my head and saying things like “Oh yeah that’s too overexposed, I’d need to dial my aperture up a few stops to get that shot…! “ 😂 LOL I thoroughly enjoyed learning from you both!!! It took me a few days of watching in between work and family obligations but it was well worth it and I’m extremely grateful to you both for your time and effort that went into creating this training. I’ve already shared it with a friend who is looking at getting into photography too! Looking forward towards seeing more of your content!!! Thanks again!!!
Thank you very much to Tony & Chelsea for this 7-hours comprehensive photography training. Even though I have been taking photo professionally for many years and I come from film SLR, this training video really help me to recap and apply different techniques in today digital photography. Once again, thank you very much for your hardwork.
Thanks for your great work Tony! I forecast a million of views for this video. This is the time point to which we all will be getting back for years ahead. Kudos from Ukraine!

Thank you Tony, as someone who's watched your channel for a while now since I jumped into photography, and the subsequent gas to follow. This video is great!
We can always learn something, especially for us old film people who actually developed our own film. DSLR’s are like time travel, but the basics are the same.
Absolutely Amazing! I used to shoot for BH&G and I'm stunned! This was a real bit of work, THANK YOU so much for providing a Master Class,....free of charge!
One of the best online courses I’ve experienced. I’ve a great deal. I’ve taken several photography college classes. I’ve learn more in the first 15 minutes. Thank you.
Hi, I'm just getting into photography after inheriting a Canon 400D and a few lenses from family, only ever taken photos with my phone before, so I'm scouring youtube for guides and tutorials about everything now. Stumbled over your course and channel, half an hour in and I'm definately going to watch the whole 7 hours. I know the 400d is getting very long in the tooth (2006) but it's a bit too early to start upgrading camera when I've barely used it yet, I think. Thank you for putting the whole course up on youtube :) It's very easy to start looking at the next cool thing whenever you get something new, so I'm gonna resist for now and learn how to use the camera I got.
Tony & Chelsea I purchased your Stunning Digital Photography book and videos because I wanted a structured coarse with practice materials. I’m attempting to approach it like a college class with labs. Look forward to seeing some of the updated content. Thanks a million for putting this coarse together.

I use the SB800's (3) and the SB900's (3) with my Z8. And, I'm really pleased with the outcome of these two older flashes. Saves me a lot of money. Well done! Editing these lessons together must’ve taken some time.
I am thoroughly enjoying this video and learning a lot about photography. I am feeling a little more confident about using my camera in different situations. I haven't watched the whole video ( I plan to do it over a few days as I practice my shots). Thank you for this wonderful journey towards becoming a better photographer. Love the way you explain and simplify a difficult subject at times.
