- Zero Caliber 2 is shaping up really nicely and could be the Call of Duty VR experience for Quest owners looking for a classic campaign driven FPS in virtual reality! Zero Caliber 2 contains a full 8+ hour long single player campaign, upto 4 player co-op missions, mod support, 5v5 PVP and a progression system containing tonnes of unlockable guns, attachments and skins. It's the full package for players looking for the best new VR shooter or a solid VR FPS that feels like a classic Call of Duty single player campaign, complete with set pieces, evil villains and sprawling levels to work through. Today we're looking at an early build of Zero Caliber 2 on Quest 3 and checking out one full mission worth of gameplay, there are still areas that need a little fine tuning but the game already feels like a worthy follow up to the original, which is still one of the best VR shooters in 2024 and a fantastic VR co-op experience. Zero Caliber 2 releases this month (provided there are no last minute delays...)

Man, I love when games give you the option for unlimited ammo. I sometimes just want to not worry about ammo, it makes the game so much more enjoyable to me, and there is no reason that simple toggle shouldn't be in like every shooter. Sometimes I just want to feel overpowered and go guns blazing without worrying about ammo. That simple feature makes this game very interesting to me lol.

Hmmm that's why players like that mostly only play sandbox games without goals. Some people don't want the pressure to be good at anything and avoid problems not work on their problems. You see the same in real life.
@@michelverheijen6643 I think you're overthinking it dawg. Some people just play games to relax and enjoy themselves rather than "work on their problems" lol. It's a video game, not a test of your worth. If you feel worthless because you can't beat a video game on legendary difficulty with limited ammo, you might have a deeper issue than lack of skill.

Did you die 3 times you had to start the game from start. I had a friend who wasn't as patience as i was. When he wasn't good at a game we needed to try the next game and so on. A lot of his controllers were thrown out of the window. But spoiled as he was he owned all consoles and games but just wasn't good at gaming bahahaha

I have so many of these VR military shooters; and you know what, the better they get, the more slightly different they are, the more i like em. The fear was that the player base would all die out but the ubiquity of the quest and being wireless has developers seeing the untapped ground for high-bar-quality presentation and lasting gameplay and it's working on me. I still play a lot of flatscreen shooters but, nothing really compares to a context-necessary blind fire going well in vr and that skin of your teeth manual reload as enemy crosses the door, or canted aiming being not a feature, its an instinct that requires no buttons- so the appeal for a fps head like me never really goes away, as long as these continue to improve, like call of duty (in theory, since it still profits every year) - so along with like, i think five other sick shooters coming in 24, ill check this one for sure haha. Did you see Incuvo actually transformed Bulletstorm!? I can't believe it, I loved that game so much back in the day. So impressed/chuffed/surprised that they addressed the issues, and have a roadmap! Greatest turnaround ever.

Absolutely love this series. I wish Sony had this mich ambition to pump out VR games although I know its not that easy.
the range of a shotgun depends on the ammo your using. effective range with buckshot roughly 35m, Birdshot roughly 49m and slugs roughly 100m and if your using saboted slugs in a rifled barrel your looking at over 150 m so ya, it's round dependent. Rough estimates pulled out of my head but they effectively relay what I'm saying.
I want the PCVR version but will Steam link to my quest 3. Problem with the last game is that after an update it switched the hand orientation to vertical with no way to adjust it. If that’s the case again I will be skipping this one.

Just a tip. If they follow the rules of the old game, you don't have to "cock" the gun every time you change mags. Only if the previous mag is spent. If there is a bullet in the chamber you don't have to pull it every time :)
Is this only 2 player coop, or is there multiplayer???
the campaign mode is playable in coop, up to 4 people.
there is also a multiplayer mode up to 5v5 in DM, Gungame, (up to 10 players in TDM and Siege mode) and modding opportunities as well

I just hope they did something with the enemy AI. On the first game the enemies just know where you are as soon as they spawn and come at you. There is NO stealth. No catching an enemy by surprise because they just know exactly where you are and just attack.

The only game which is better in PVP focus is Vail.
Contractors beats ZC in every eay except co op content. ZC is fun but janky as hell. Contractors is insanely polished by comparison. The gun handling and controls in general are so much better in Contractors (OG not Showdown)

The original had bhaptics and force tube native support. Doesn’t look like this version has that support.

I do like xreal added some newer stuff to the game, like the ability to choose a melee weapon (by the looks of it) and different grenade types, even adding healing items. Maybe this option is just a me thing, but it would be cool to see character customization in this game.
There are unlockable skins. There are probably a few options at the start. More fun for multiplayer.

That accuracy could be correct. Average of 10 shots per enemy × 100 enemies = 1,000 shots fired.
In real modern wars it is sometimes 25,000 - 75,000 rounds per enemy killed. Much of that is for suppression as they're not all wearing Doom Guy bulletproof suits like this character.
I pre ordered this game like almost a year ago cause it was supposed to come out in spring then they changed it to July and it’s July and it’s still not out when can I finally play this game dude when’s the release date

Lots of peeps sick with covid in 2024. I just got over it. Bunch of peeps at my work. I play walkabout mini golf with alot of peeps from the UK and roughly 60% of them are sick with the vid atm.
I had COVID last week 2 knocks you off your feet I still have a tickle cough
But on the game they are gunna need to get the graphics up a bit they look rough....but gameplay looks good....
I will play this PCVR like the old one... I always skip the standalone if there is a PCVR version of any VR games.

I played the alpha of this, how are the graphics? Ive heard creators say its pushing the hardware and others say its in the middle?
Do you think its a carbon copy of caliber 1 but refreshed or have they improved the AI and gameplay?
The first 1 was too simple, the AI needs to be better for ot to feel morenrealustic and fun
I bet they are giving themselves a little overhead for launch, but will optimize, especially for Quest 3, even more in updates.

Even after four years there still aren’t any other VR games that match the quality of HL Alyx. It’s so disappointing, I’d love a triple A quality CoD style game in VR but this is not it.
The graphics/acting and writing just aren’t good enough, not to mention the UI/UX.
I also don’t think we’ll see anything of that quality any time soon as no big developers are making games for VR.

contractors looks great but that is more for multi player, this is more like a real story missions
It did in some ways, but there also wasn’t as much happening onscreen at once so I understand why it can’t have as many high quality assets. Still looks fun to me, and I think will be worth the purchase, especially for co-op.
I think people dont realize graphics are not everything i mean look at new cods . They look good but don’t play good.

@@DARK_KATACLYSM lied about DLC and updates , didn’t do basic audio patches for over 2 years because they took all the PC money and made a whole quest game, updated that quest game, gave them the DLC and finally after 4 years of waiting we were given the DLC that was announced before they even made a quest game. They are a scumbag studio that will happily burn the PC market for that quest share

VR is supposed to be immersed, and no bro it depends on the rounds you have in the shotgun.
This game looks amazing for quest and u have to put yourself in their shoes they are not a big game developing group they are a smaller and more private studio. And the game is not supposed to be realistic heck you can put a sniper scope on a rpg
