What catches my attention about Mr. Perfect saving Jericho is once Jericho is on the mat safely, the look on his face is the biggest look of relief I’ve ever seen. His whole life flashed before his eyes and it was the quick thinking of Mr. Perfect that saved his career and possibly his life.
IMO what else did you expect from Mr. Perfect? Many wrestlers called wrestling him "a day off". He was known as a very safe and careful Wresler, who was on the other hand willing to bump his ass off for you. But in that case, so glad he lived up to his reputation.
Honorable mention, Baron Corbin saving Dolph Ziggler from falling on his head after a high speed tumble over the ring stairs, and then turned it into a seemless deep 6
As someone else mentioned: Honorable mention to (surprisingly) Ryback for saving Kallisto's life during a preshow match. I remember being terrified as I saw him coming down wrong.
@@Joe90h He mentions the APA intended on harming other wrestlers but usually on lists people are quick to mention JBL intended on shooting on the blue meanie and did by busting him open hard way
@@MyPisceanNatureagreed. I was ready to write him off as another David Arquette publicity stunt, but he's proven just how much he actually takes the business seriously, on several occasions. I still don't like him as a person, but I'm growing to respect him as a performer. He has definitely showed a commitment to the craft I didn't initially expect from him.
Logan Paul is a prime example of "hate him as a person, but god damn, is a good wrestler." He's shown that a number of times. I think that one is one of the biggest examples, though, of him not only taking it seriously, but knowing enough of about what is and isn't safe in the ring to correct it when necessary to protect someone.
@SkunkApe407 To be fair to David Arquette, he took it seriously, too. He's not as talented, but it wasn't his fault Vince Russo thought it was hilarious to destroy the top prize of WCW.
Styles probably knew Elsworth was out of place because he didn't feel his head against his taint, which is where it would be if he hadn't tucked it in.
Nah, he checked Ellsworths position. After that English wrestler broke his neck during the styles clash because he tucked his chin, AJ became extra aware.
It's his finisher, so u can say he can tell by the feeling in his legs and hips if someone has their head in the wrong place because he's been using this move forever and if u did that you'd be able to tell if someone wasn't placed right
Plenty of amazing professional wrestlers have done some awful things. You can applaud their skill while villifying them. You don't need a strong moral compass to nail a picture perfect moonsault.
Brody Lee's real name was Jonathan Huber, he used the name Brody Lee even pre-AEW because he bore a resemblance to Jason Lee, and he played a character in Mallrats called Brodie
Another shoutout to Menacing Michael the frightful disciple is on an episode of smackdown, I think during the invasion storyline. Kurt angle went to angle slam big show when Taker who was prone on the apron, subtly moves his foot to slide a chair away from the pair to avoid a bad landing. Way to go Undertaker you legend
"...Edge clearly remembered some training he'd been made to sit through." I don't think there is anyone watching this video that has had to endure a workplace training video at one point or another, usually while fighting training video induced narcolepsy at the same time. That line gave me a right old chuckle matey, keep it up. :D
I don’t know that you can say you saved a dude from injury when you’re responsible for the potential injury in the first place. I mean, props to Paul for catching Rey, that’s quick thinking, but that wasn’t him saving Rey so much as it was him covering his own mistake.
Jericho's scariest spot was at Havoc 97. I remember he said he hasn't and will never watch the Frankensteiner again. If only he could've been saved from that one. 😅
I think the picture used for Styles saving Elsworth actually shows how he noticed. It looks like he's looking down at him, so I presume he uses the positioning of the move to check on his opponents as he moves and adjusts if he sees anything wrong
@@cichontom my reason for writing this was based off multiple other instances it was not to say that he wasn't capable of being protective in the ring but in comparison to Logan considering rybacks had more matches more experience....yes Ryback is much less safe otherwise we would still have him around but he's long gone....
I was at that Smackdown when AJ saved Ellsworth. Legit tbought i was gonna watch a dude get his neck broke. AJ lived up to his name that night. Simply phenomenal that he reacted so quick
A pretty good idea for a video that goes along with the Fandango saving Cody Rhodes. Has there been any wrestler or notable person in history that saved Fandango? Then has there been anyone that saved that person, and so on? Imagine the rabbit hole type of fun video that would be?!?
I remember the one where on a episode of smackdown more wrestlers keep coming down to the ring then Kurt gives an angle slam to Big Show and right as he does it Undertaker kicks a chair out the way which show would have otherwise landed on
I remember looking away from the screen before AJ hit that Styles clash on Ellsworth, because I was convinced I was about to witness someone breaking their neck on live TV. AJ is the goat for real, I’d trust him with my life in the ring
one that missed this list: TLC 2019, Kairi Sane got concussed in the women's Tag Team TLC Match between the Kabuki Warriors (her team with Asuka) and the team of Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch, during the match, Kairi was concussed after i assumed a German Suplex spot on the floor by the ramp, Kairi was on spaghetti legs after that and Charlotte put her through a table and stiffed her while not knowing she was hurt, but Becky & Asuka saw something wrong and tried to do something before the concussion turned into a fatal head injury, so after a while, Becky rolled Kairi under the ring to prevent her from suffering a fatal or life altering head injury that could have cut her life or career short.
I'm still waiting for you guys to post about Pete Dunne vs Walter (Gunther) at NXT Takeover New York in 2019. I was there, and I watched it again on the Network and Pete Dunne went to do a climb up and flip over off the turnbuckle (like Daniel Bryan Danielson does), but slipped, and was about to go crashing onto his head, but Walter saved him.
Yeah, this guy in reality is just unbelievable. Coming in as a celebrity - I just don´t know where his understanding of the business come from. And saving Rey here and improvise for the audience, it is just impressive. And yeah, I know the controversity about his person very well - but it seems, he just "feels" Wrestling and seems he would be a "naturally born Champion", if he decides to stick with it.
This one kind of dont count, but when kane made a return after tori dumped him, there's a part where in the tombstone her legs weren't in the right place, so he pulled them in before the tombstone which if he didnt it could have screwed her up either it being her back or neck
Slightly out of position? Try a LOT out of position. Logan saving Rey is completely overblown, it was Logan's fault Rey nearly brained him self, he just corrected it.
Logan didn't save rey mysterio ,rey would have landed just fine but logan almost killed him by catching him. So logan in my opinion doesn't deserve the praise he gets

Mad props to Baron Corbin. I'm fed up with people pretending he's not great.
As someone else mentioned: Honorable mention to (surprisingly) Ryback for saving Kallisto's life during a preshow match. I remember being terrified as I saw him coming down wrong.
I swear, Ryback's final kick-off matches were great, and I think a good chunk of it was him, not just Kalisto.
Fair play to Adam not reference the blue meanie and JBL and instead going with APA 😂😂
What is this in reference to? Certainly nothing that's featured in these lists at all...
@@Joe90h He mentions the APA intended on harming other wrestlers but usually on lists people are quick to mention JBL intended on shooting on the blue meanie and did by busting him open hard way
@@brentsmith9134 So this is the Montreal Screwjob everyone refers to? ;)
i think logan bought a lot of goodwill from fans with that
I might not think much of him as a person, but he clearly respects the obligations one has when they step in the ring. I can respect that.

I have to admit it: as a person I don't like Logan, but as a wrestler he obtained my respect.
He does flips really good. Still a dbag.

I never thought Shane looked much like Vince but at 7:08 I saw it.
No Ryback saving Kalisto huh...

After a broken neck or two, he learned to double check if his opponents are taking it correctly.
Although he made a mistake missing his spot with rey ....Logan is still safer in the ring than Ryback ...props given still for his ring awareness.
rey also fucked up a bit too, he under rotated a decent bit and didnt get the distance
Ryback stopped Kalisto from landing on his head on the apron at Mania 32

A tornado or a disgruntled warthog are safer than Ryback.
I heard that Scott steiner saved Shane "Hurricane" Helms from falling head first to the floor.
I personally think Jericho's biggest botch was publicly stating that he hates the term 'botch', setting him up to be constantly flamed by the IWC
They should give a "Best Save" award every year.
Don't forget Kane also is a politician. That is always evil lol
Shout out to Jeff Hardy for saving Darby Allin from a very high and somewhat off-target coffin drop onto a hard arena floor.

Brodie Lee ♥️
Honorable mention goes to Mike Awesome saving Spike Dudley on ppv. I forgot which one it was

I wonder how many of these wrestlers remember these saves. Also, props to cultaholic because I didn't know most of these.
Can we talk about that Big Show ladder from the 2010 MitB match? One of the best visual gimmicks of all time.
R.I.P. Brody Lee.

Asuka saving Sasha with her leg is a great example.
Ryback saved Kalisto on a dangerous springboard
Kurt Henning really was Mr _Perfect_
I remember looking away from the screen before AJ hit that Styles clash on Ellsworth, because I was convinced I was about to witness someone breaking their neck on live TV. AJ is the goat for real, I’d trust him with my life in the ring
AJ looked at ellsworth to check his head position... I'd assume that after the Lionheart incident that he became ultra aware of this danger.
Luke Harper was, is and forever will be one of the all-time greats.

Pacitti never fails to glaze Logan Paul
The Luke Harper Mustafa Ali spot, Braun Strowman didn't do the spot too early, he actually did it too late.
AJ Styles and James Ellsworth
No Cody, no Aew, No Cody coming back to WWE to finish his story, no the people vs the rock!
It all makes sense
"In the ring." Hooo boy.
No, I will not forget about Kane electrocuting Shane. Kane should have came back in the 2023 Rumble for one last chance to give Shane a beating.
kudos to Logan Paul on being an absolute pro&saving Rey Mysterio from a serious injury

Unless you are Steve blackmen. Then jbl would be saying sorry. If you know the story.
Logan paul was just fixing his mistake on his rehearsed spot like he was trying to just complete the spot.
Mr perfect was always meant to lift his legs up. Jericho didn’t mean to under rotate.
It was a happy accident really.
Well i never knew this.
You just HAD to know that AJ/Ellsworth was going to be #1. I mean that could've paralyzed poor James
Kane also saved jeff hardy in a handicap match against the hardy boys
wow I wish Logan would care his fans like how he cared for Rey 💀
Slightly out of position? Try a LOT out of position. Logan saving Rey is completely overblown, it was Logan's fault Rey nearly brained him self, he just corrected it.
Many green wrestlers can't correct themselves like that, they just blow the spot and someone gets hurt
We sure the jericho one wasn't just the planned counter?
i guess adam forgot ryback saves kalisto
The fact rey mysteriou is 3 inches taller than me …..
Nope, Jericho’s worst botch is the Gedo rana
Ali still got injured though. Idk why people hate to overlook that.

“Saves their opponent” but the ref wasn’t his opponent 🥲

Mustafa Ali
Scott da'more got fired for whatever reason.
