Honestly, still wondering why we never seem to get a story driven, stand alone Gundam game. Its always something bafflingly arcadey, or too multiplayer driven. Give me some one year war stuff, even though it feels like we'll never get it.
Fr, I'd kill for an armored core/ace combat style gundam game. Fight through different campaigns and wars as different mobile suits in mission sorties.

We used to in the old days. Now we do have a story driven gundam game called Gundam SD Battle Alliance.
They need the right person to pick it up just imagine Hideo doing a Gundam lol.
I think they have this overwhelming desire to make the most money by involving as many franchises as possible and thus enticing more people to play as their favorite suit. So we'll probably never see anything official that aligns 100% with what you outlined, sadly. In spite of that there is some good stuff out there however most of it is old and in Japanese or would most likely be "too arcadey" as you so aptly put it.

I think armored core would have been a better game to collab with. There is literally no overlap between gundam fans and COD fans.
It’s mechas over 75% don’t know or watch the mobile suit series. I’m just glad that they added the RX-78-2 and the Red Comets Zaku. Could care less about Aerial as I couldn’t find interest in Witch from Mercury. Woke as high school drama, I personally watch Gundam for some space opera mix with war diplomacy.

@@barbatosrex1087 Nobody said it was the worst series ever. The existence of Build Divers and Metaverse, which were definitely awful, has no bearing on WfM being a mid series at best. The first season was alright, but the second season was rushed as hell. A lot of things either didn't get the attention they deserved, were rushed in, or were glossed over.
They could have chosen Armored Core for a collab, would have fit better and iirc the game is also distributed by Bamco

Dumbfounded by this one, boys. You couldn't even wait until Tomino left us to desecrate such a staunchly anti-war IP by grafting it onto what is a well established pro-war pro-interventionist IP? Now it seems as if the East "doesn't understand Gundam" just like the West.
Quite the trend these days... Take an established IP, twist and invert core principles to mock its original message and devalue its cultural significance. Shame to see Gundam in the crosshairs but I guess I'm looking forward to filling the holes in my collection at a lower price if Bandai alienates its fanbase like other companies have done with other IPs.

Bandai is doing this so gundam will be known to a wider audience. I believe this is part of their strategy in making another fps type gundam game in the future by attempting to make Gundam a known series to many people who wouldn’t normally know about it
It was this or Fortnite probably. Or this *and* Fortnite. It seems like if Bandai tries it themselves, they fuck it up. So hopefully this gets interest in some outside studio wanting to do something with Gundam.
