Nice video Jerry. I’ll have my GK Two review coming out soon. The intro is surprisingly similar to yours in this video 😂
Most useful tips for me were 9 and 10!
Thank you so much! I think this is a much needed video because I am really beginning to enjoy resin, and it took 2 years to get to that point!
One of the biggest things for me was to stop cheaping out. I would take #9 to the extreme. I would only use 1 tiny paper towel for a huge mess and I would get dirty anyway. I would only use 1 glove instead of 2. I would reuse gloves all the time. Id wait 3 minutes to get 5 more drops of resin, which honestly equate to absolutely nothing in print quantities.
I still haven’t taken the plunge into resin printing because I don’t understand the risk to the air while printing. The only place I have to put one is my basement but from what I’ve read the fumes are harmful and potent. We don’t spend much time in the basement other than to do laundry etc.. but I still don’t feel comfortable I guess
The chemical reaction that takes place to cure the resin released toxic fumes. If the basement does not have adequate air flow I think it would be unwise to put the printer there. If you can spare some garage space it can be the best place to put one because you can open the garage door and it'll ventilate itself :)
@@ThePrintHouse Thank you for the honest answer. Often times I feel like people tend to lighten the seriousness of the topic perhaps to comfort themselves in their own decisions/behaviors. I’ll hold off until I can get power back to my garage (long story) and then probably pick up a gktwo with the heater to keep in the garage.
youtube tip #1 if you dont want people to immediately skip your ad read, learn to normalize your audio before uploading. sheesh. on the subject matter, look into lab gloves, reuseable/washable/etc, stop using regular paper towels and get shop towels, for the drip/catch tray look into boot trays can still use the silicone mat inside of it but allows for a much larger volume and the higher walls will prevent spills outside of work area.
This sponsored segment was definitely punchy at the start. I will talk with my editor to get it fixed for next time.
I have a pair of reusable gloves and find them to be more annoying than helpful. The issue is that gloves get messy all over, even the write part, and I don't want to clean the glove between uses. The moment I take gloves off they don't go back on my hands. Though to each their own because everyone has different experiences and it is good to share them all! :) I really love shop towels, they're great, but by me they cost 3 times the price of normal towels and the normal ones seem to work well for fresh spills.
