60007 snarls in the Wilpshire drizzle (23 May 2024)

Accompanied by the characteristic hissing-snarl of the Kylchap exhaust A4 pacific Sir Nigel Gresley makes a sure-footed climb of Wilpshire Bank.
Hauling the returning 12 coach Fellsman train from Carlisle to Crewe the locomotive makes seemingly light work of the steep climb in difficult conditions with only minimal involvement from the diesel on the rear.
The locomotive headboard celebrates the 65th anniversary of its post-war speed record set by 60007 on 23rd May 1959.
