I got to return to Medieval Times dinner and tournament!
To clarify, this visit was back in May I just puzzled over actually finishing this video for quite a while!
I feel exceedingly lucky to get to travel so much this year and experience so many fantasy opportunities! I donned my fine gown from Holy Clothing and got to celebrate in style with a VIP ticket this time around and wanted to share how the experience was different with this add on!
Knights and queens and horses and adventure! I'm so grateful for everyone who chooses to watch and appreciate you finding this video! Tell me about YOUR Medieval Times experiences!

Shoutout to medieval times performers for unionizing!
I came across your video while looking for some old footage for a friend. I worked at Medieval Times for four years and am more than happy to answer any questions you might have. I do regret to inform you that the Black and White Knight is married now, and I was at his wedding this past December.
The show changed to having a queen as the monarch starting in Dallas in October of 2017 and then was slowly rolled out to other castles within the following months.
Horses are changed during the show for multiple reasons, many of them being the different skills and comfort levels of the horses. For example, one horse may be fine during the games portion of the tournament while still needing work being comfortable during the joust, and of those horses that are comfortable in the joust, there are a handful of horses that are able to do the horseback fight. Another big reason is so as to not tire them out, especially during busy days such as Saturdays, where there can be up to three shows a night, or Spring Break, where there are three shows a day for 10 days straight!
What a wealth of knowledge, so cool that you found this, thanks for your comment!!
(and congratulations black and white knight!!!)
Very nice video!
Glad to see you in armour! The way I see it, wearing plate armour, is a lot like that old song about the skeleton (you know, the leg bone is connected to the, thigh bone, etc). The pauldrons (shoulder armour) are connected to the gorget (collar bone and shoulder blade armour), you got those correct. You may notice that it tends to slide around, this can be made more comfortable with a breast and back plate, padding, and better fitting (custom) armour. This gets expensive, but, If you want to go that rabbit hole, you'll have a kick butt costume. It also gets VERY hot. Maybe, polyurethane armour may also be a route with taking. If you wanted the armour just for this video, then you have already kicked butt. Excellent job.
cool video, and nice armor :) 10:33 so, you should be wearing some kind of padding under it (example: a gambeson or arming doublet) because as it is now, if you took a hit from a sword it would shatter your collarbone, however given the temperature where you are during the summer you probably can't wear that comfortably anyway. But because it is a costume item it only has to look correct. I know it's possible to get thinner arming doublets (basically a close-ish fitting linen tunic with eyelets or laces sewn onto that tie to the armor so it doesn't move around to much) that wouldn't offer much protection but would look the part, maybe something you could look into??
It’s ok. You look cool.
Thank you really help me decide if I want to get the royal queen VIP package in the Chicago location with my family my kids are only 3 and 2 but it's more for me lol
I just went today and LOVED it 😍 it was amazing and our knight won 🏆 *WOOP WOOP* and I got crowned as queen of love and beauty ❤ *btw my favorite knight is The yellow one 🙃
7:09 , best part
Watching this video and my brain has been stuck on this question, is that Umi’s sword from Magic Knight Rayearth behind you?
YES omg how amazing for it to be recognized!! I cosplayed her and made this prop
I've been to the one in Dallas a few times and I believe it's overpriced. To me buying the King's Feast at Texas Renaissance Festival is better and the jousting at Sherwood is real with actual injuries
It looks like going to a LARP would really be the thing for you.
Oh I DREEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAMMM of going to one!!
@@Mintfae well, get out there and go to one. You can be an NPC if you don't have a all the equipment for a character.
DO YOU GET TO KEEP THE STUFF
Yeah! The flag banner, the photos, the crown and the badge are lovely souvenirs!!
