I went to Medieval Times back in December 2015. I loved every minute of it.
i was more interested in the food preparation. I don't care about the paper crowns and napkins
Yeah I've seen those as I've been to Medieval Times I wanted to see the kitchen in full swing.
Doesn't seem like the food preparation is the spectacular. The video would be to boring.
They don't share any recipes sadly
It says serves not prepares
Then go to cooking school
Medieval times is such a weird phenomenon.
andrineslife I thought so too but my kids love it and it made it fun for me.
chaosfactor333 amazing
The food is actually pretty good. I went there once. The area smelled a bit musty (horse poop), but it wasn't too bad. The chicken was the bomb.
yeah food was really tasty. good show and good food.
Maria Juana football or soccer and vikings didn't really exist there was no race called the vikings that's generalizing ancient Norse cultures and people i doubt that the Danes or swiss played with skulls Xd celts maybe but they are from ireland and scotland not from the Norse cultures i maybe wrong u can fact check me and we both might learn alot
As an internet historian, I can confirm this was an accurate portrayal of the 2000's...
As a historian/time traveler from 12000 A.A.I.(AFTER A.I.) I can confirm that this is indeed accurate of the medieval time or as we call it the 2000s also in this year google creates a virtual assistant that can talk like a humawenfdngkffg
Internet historian?
Lol nailed it
LOL this comment made me chuckle and it is spot on
@@kitchengangsters5016 It's been 4 years. What's it like in the year 12,000 A.A.I now?
So how do they serve 1300 chicken dinners in 30 minutes?
Big pans, strong arms, and choreography
Very quickly
Yeah, I was a little bummed they didnt answer the question and only covered the front of house operation.
Well they have large ovens with trays of chicken on racks. So like 24 trays on racks 15-20 chickens per tray which is about 4 racks to get to 1300. Then they just serve them as fast as they can
@WeeStrom CO Guy in the video they show racks of chicken on trays in a giant walk in oven. I just counted what was on the video and estimated the rest.
It's annoying how they name these videos. I was expecting to see how they cook that many chickens
You see the revolving ovens. If they have that much through put, they are getting the chickens from the distributor prepped and seasoned. So its out of the box onto the tray and into the oven.
Yep... clickbait is super lame.
Eater is on its way to desensitizing me with their click bait titles.
where did they ever say in the title about "making" chicken? They clearly said "How Medieval Times SERVES 1300 Chicken Dinners" not MAKES. You can see how they serve it at 5:04 btw.
But how do they MAKE the chicken? Misleading title.
They use giant industrial revolving baking ovens seen at 5:05
Thanks for watching!
yes, looks medieval. Giant industrial revolving baking ovens, remember them from historyclass!
Eater yeah you spent 1 second on what you named the video. misleading waste of time.
The title didn't say anything about how to make the chicken though.
Thanks for those 5 seconds of footage.
It was fun to see the behind the scenes of the exact Mideval times I went to when I was growing up. But as this is the Eater channel I was expecting to see how the kitchen gets all those meals put together in that short time.
I've been there on an elementary school trip(now a college student). When I saw the video I got blasted with a sense of nostalgia. I think I'm gonna come back here during the summer now.
Irvin My school went there when we were on a band trip and we chanted for our knight.: BLUE! BLUE! BLUE! Until you couldn't hear anything else. Good times.
In my area this was a middle school trip
They didn't have silverware during those times, but they had Pepsi?
Dude, I got a lot of tables!!!
You're going down Red Knight!
And, in fact, they DID have silverware - spoons and knives
Todd Ellner you never saw Cable Guy?
They would have served beer and wine at real medieval banquets, but I assume they are serving soda to make it more age accessible.
I think you guys forgot the part where they make the chicken...
Not only does the title say SERVE not MAKE, but they did actually show you the rotating oven at 5:05
THEY don’t ‘make’ the chickens. Ok, look when two chickens feel a certain way about each other they.... oh, just go look it up!
where did they ever say in the title about "making" chicken? They clearly said "How Medieval Times SERVES 1300 Chicken Dinners" not MAKES. You can see how they serve it at 5:04 btw.
"Cable Guy" will forever be the perfect advertisement for Medieval Times.
You going DOWN RED KNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Silence of the lambs"
XD XD XD
all that for min wage plus tips wow
Well at servers at regular restaurants get like $2.25 an hour
@@WhateverLex No, they dont. MInimum wage is 5$ and up.
@@Commentator541 it's actually $7.25 an hour minimum
Commentator541 i get $2.25 plus tips
Commentator541 I get 2.25 plus tips, servers don’t get minimum wage.
Game of Thrones may have dragons, but Medieval Times has Diet Coke!
I thought Dallas Texas only had Pepsi Product-
(I’m going to a field trip there on June 28th and said they will be serving Pepsi or water)
@@KyraCrossing how was the experience?

Please change video title to "How Medieval Times Servers Greet Customers and also how the plates are laid down"
I remember i went when i was like 9 for my birthday and got upset because they kept changing the courses too fast and i left the place hungry -.-
Yin Yang same
This was favorite show when i was kid now im 27 it was this or Dixie stampede my mom took me and my brother a much im from Myrtle Beach south Carolina we got one in Myrtle Beach good times and memories
I was hoping to see cooking instead of service. Not hating on service part but chicken is hardly the emphasis of the video.
The title literally says "Serve" not "make" but do go off.
where did they ever say in the title about "making" chicken? They clearly said "How Medieval Times SERVES 1300 Chicken Dinners" not MAKES. You can see how they serve it at 5:04 btw.
Its the eleventh century, we eat with our hands because authenticity, but we serve tomato bisque, corn on the cob, potatoes and coffee because its do-able.
Ursula Hirzel they had eating utensils since 4th century so idk what they’re on about😂😂
@@amberclad3412 they absolutely did not have forks- those didnt pop around until the renaissance and hell, even if this were a renaissance themed event instead of 'medieval' you would need to bring your own utensils...they were extremelyexpensive and people brought their own.
Caligula Longhbottom dude they’ve found bone forks from like 2500 bc...
Caligula Longhbottom it may have had a slightly different design but they have had forks for thousands of years
Thank you. Very informative.
I love the planning.
Love this place. I've been a couple times as a Florida native. I think themed experiences like this are becoming more rare and it's nice to see this one stick around.
A lot of chickens were harmed during this video
I remember going to this place a while back for GA studies trip
Went there twice when I was little for a field trip loved it.
I love this place!!
Wow that’s a workout on a whole other level! Kudos!!!!!
This was one if ny best experience. We went as a family for an 18th bday party and i enjoyed it more than i thought i would
Silverware 100% existed in the 11th century.
Well, not sure having customers to use knives might be problematic. Like a big pocket knife equivalent.
Forks being more or less a novelty and mostly for Italian Cities and Byzantine Empire.
Spoons and knives. Dunno about forks though.
I remember when I went to Medieval Times in 6th grade for a field trip, and it was a lot of fun. Our knight didn’t win, but we all had a good time. 👍🏼
omg im in 6th grade im going there Friday lol
I picked this video because I needed something to listen to as I brush my hair as weird as that sounds ,but as I was brushing I look at my screen at 1:32 and I’m like omg IVE BEEN THERE when I was little. I had no idea this video would be about this place I had such amazing memories at. 😆😊
It's amazing that this place still exists.
Great channel and to see what they go thru. Hats off to this Channel and for all those HardWorkers 🇺🇸
Went there today loved it
HUZZAH! 👑 ⚔ We are happy to hear it!
They forgot a crucial element to the event a bunch of wine with absolutely no water to drink
Looks great. These ladies deserve a big tip.
"There were no utensils in medieval times, hence there are no utensils at Medieval Times."
Jim Carrey, The Cable Guy
Jim Carrey didn't say that in the movie, it was the serving wench.
Awwww it's been so many years! I want to go here again!
Always respect the service industry!
When ever I take my nephew to Medieval Times, I always sneak in bbq sauce packets from McDonald's for the chicken
Ah, I see that you are also a man of culture.
I like how she's getting a bit of culture shock given the fact that she's use to cooking. Front of house is no joke and not an easy job, even in an ordinary restaurant.
That's what we were aiming to display, thanks for watching!
Front of the house is the easiest job in a restaurant ...all servers do is complain and still get paid more than the kitchen to do less work.
^ said by somebody who has clearly never worked in a front end job at a store or restaurant
Cooks work way harder than waitresses in from my experience less than half the pay depending on the restaurant.
@@Dimitri1221XxX Either job is tough. No one said one job was tougher than the other, calm down.
I went to this and it was so much fun
I remember being here with a bunch of work friends. We were so loud that they had our knight, who lost the tournament, was chosen to fight the battle at the end.
Step 1: Tell guests to get there an hour early so they have to waste money in the lobby. Step 2: Charge $20 for a chicken quarter and half a cob of corn.
williwonti The show is fun though.
Forever Undying That it is.
Charging extra for the torture museum while they make you wait? Thieving bastards. Makes it all worth it when my blue knight rolls out, holy damn. I'd joust with him any day.
Step 3: Profits.
It’s a fair price because it’s not just a restaurant, it’s entertainment as well. I’m sure the profit margin isn’t that big because they have to pay for both. You pay for the experience, not the food.
More Katie please, She's great! =)
so note to self. leave an amazing tip.
I went when i was a kid and man they did a great job
it makes me wanna check this out
Amazing
Omg I loved going to this place in Toronto
I am taking my family here in the Fall. Hopefully its as fun as my buddies say!
I’ve been here, So much fun
so weird that such an exciting place is in my tiny lil hometown
First time I went was my tenth birthday! Even got a sword! Though would be even cooler if they had functional swords in stock too!
Went another time on a field trip when I was like 12.
And back in 2019 went with my cousin and his wife. And now we’re gonna go this monday!
Such a fun place to be!
I remember going to this when I was in the 8th grade and thinking it would be lame. It wound up being very fun, would love to go again.
Intro beat was lit.
This performance is really great
I was there before and it was soo fun I do recommend
If you can go, GO! Such a fun time. Food was great. Wonderful time. The Toronto one. 🇨🇦
I would honestly just go there for the food, that’s basically the only reason I ever go anywhere
I love how for this they say 'servers' but when you're actually there they introduce themselves as wenches. Unless that has changed since I was there in 04'
Love medevil times and the food is like so so soooo good
Welcome.. to the Medieeeeeval timeeeees (c) The Cable guy. Such a movie.
The first time I saw a Medieval Times restaurant was while making a work-related trip to northern NJ in 2003-2004ish. It was probably this same place. I have to say I was curious after driving by. You don't see a lot of castles in North America. At first I thought it was a small theme park for kids until I asked about it at the convenience store down the street and they explained the whole concept to me. The girl at the register seemed enthusiastic about it, so here I am 15 years later when it shows up in my feed. I still haven't had a dinner and a show there.
The title should be "A day in the life at Medieval Times". The video, in no way, shows how they manage to serve 1300 Chicken Dinners in 30 Minutes.
yes they do. learn how to watch a video all the way. You can clearly see how they serve it at 5:04
Vandicoup what does showing a cooling rack of chicken followed by people walking out to serve food explain the logistics of HOW it’s done?
I went to this for a field trip and it was the best we went for the green
There were utensils in the 1100's for commoners though :P especially in Gaelic and french culture
there were not forks until at least the 15th century.
Man i havent been there in so long i used to love this place when i was younger
Very well made even though I agree with others that we needed to see the kitchen.
That corn is soooo good!
That seems like a really fun job.
To me, this is false pretenses. I thought that what was to be shown was how the kitchen prepares the food. This only shows how it is served. Without disparaging the waiters and waitresses, the really interest is in the kitchen where it must be intense and well organized. Serving is easier, at least, I think.
Did you fail to read the title? It says SERVE. Maybe you just suck at English?
And for some reason it's so delicious
I love this place! I know there is this guy way before you go into the stadium. He has long hair and a really cool accent
The US army should hire these guys.
Considering the fact that I mostly eat with my hands this kinda right up my alley
I think of Jim Carrey when I hear of Midevil Times
Noland Ryan dude, same! That's part of the reason why I want to go lol
CAAAAABLLE GUUUYY
Medieval times is so fun!
I was just talking to my sister about going here next weekend and it shows up in my recommendations. Not sketchy at all...
Seven Eleven how was it ?
Going there for my school trip in 5 days
I love how unironically everyone is enjoying themselves :)
Tory was great! Definitely can tell a good server makes the whole show more fun.
STILL want to go to one.
As a historian I can confirm that this is an accurate portrayal of the medieval period.
Sancho G 🤣 Enlighten us
Yes...it's in "The Ecclesiastical History of the English People" by the venerable monk Bede.
Horse. Poop. If you were a historian you'd know that half of the menu is New World foods - Tomatoes, Corn, Potatoes.
Coffee didn't enter Europe until the 17th century.
While the fork wasn't a common utensil in Europe at that time the spoon and knife were.
In short, you are lying. Please stop lying.
lol you're so butthurt
Todd Ellner As a fellow historian I too can confirm that this is historically accurate. Medieval people in the 11th century did indeed eat in Medieval Times (though, and this is a fun fact: they just called it Times back then! Crazy right?).
"You''re going down red knight! Down down down. Red knight going down!"
I went to medieval times for a choir spring trip. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! THE JOUSTERS WERE HOOT
I am going there October 29 2019 Texas
Don't lie, we all fucking loved Medieval times as a child.
This place is awesome, the waiters/waitresses make the show.
respect!
Damn that corset is putting in work.
its stretchy...not a real corset
I wish we had this in England.
3:53 "We ask that you do not bang together-
Me: What?
Her: The plates bla bla bla
Me: Oh... Weird way to say that.
Lol we’ve had sliver wear since the Roman Empire 😂.
“Sliver wear.” 🤦♂️
@@TheRealCaptainFreedom still he has a point
Oooga Booga Does he? Not sure I’ve ever heard of “sliver wear.” And he sounds extremely uneducated so what I am going to do is disregard everything he says.
@@TheRealCaptainFreedom could be just auto correct for a typo... the message is still clear
Can you put one of these in a modern hockey arena?
Ah, I see this style of feasting and dining experience is taken directly....from parts of Norfolk, UK circa 2011.
me too. kitchen, please!!
Reminds me of cable guy all the way lol .. still would love to try it out
If you are giving me corn, potatoes, and tomatoes you can't tell me you cant spare some utensils lol
