I first heard this song about 2 months after I got married to my husband . I had lost my father to cancer 8 months before my husband and I married . It came on the radio and I started crying and couldn't stop . My husband stopped the car and just held me till I had cried myself out . I still cry when I hear this song , but I know that someday I'll see my daddy again .
Just saw her live at a Diamond Resorts function in Las Vegas and she sound even better. Tammy have a great voice and perform with her band and husband, worth seeing in live performance. i'm a fan now and country music isn't my thing unless it's southern rock:-) Tammy is also fantastic on the keyboard and can play some really funky, bluesy, jazz, and rock tunes. P.S. from a Eagles,Don Henley, Glen Frey, and Don Felder fan
Hi this is Tammy I'm using my husband's account!! I really do appreciate y'all for the kind words and watching the video!! If you're ever in Las Vegas come and see us!! God bless you!!
Tammy is the mainstream country star we were all robbed of. This song is a gem, and her debut (and only?) album is one of the strongest I've ever heard. Absolutely baffling that it didn't see much commercial success!
Mr. Petersen, thank you so so very much from the bottom of my heart for those sweet and kind words. WOW!!! That meant so much to me!! I sure did enjoy recording that album! Great memories for me I will always cherish. If you ever get out to Las Vegas look me and my husband up we sing all over town here, I am still singing 🎶🎹🎵🎤 Well as long as they'll listen, I guess I'll keep singing LOL!! Hope and pray life is treating you well, and thank you so much again!!! God bless you 🎤🎹 love Tammy .
I still remember where I was the very first time I heard this song on the radio all those years ago. I was driving home from work and bawling my eyes out. People were looking at me in the other cars. I'm sure they were wondering why I was crying so hard...Still brings tears to my eyes no matter how many times I listen to it! Absolutely beautiful song!
I was a DJ in Melbourne, FL in the late 90s on WHKR, 102.7FM. I remember debuting this song on our station in March 1997 (I still have the aircheck) and remembering the poignancy of the lyrics and dear feelings of solid angst when I heard it. I hope you are well!
I remember hearing this song for the first time many years ago around 5am while driving to work. As a dad of a young girl and a boy at the time, the song touched me so deeply that I almost had to pull over from tears filling my eyes. I'm not afraid to admit that to this day tears well up in my eyes every time I hear it...
This song was a hit and being played on the radio around the time my younger brother, Larry, was killed in a car accident at age 36. He left behind a 17 year old daughter who was devastated by his loss. Every time I hear this beautiful song to this day it makes me think of him and how he wasn't there for Nicole when she got married.
I know that had it been hard going through that. Hopefully hearing this song brings some comfort and knowing he is watching from up above! I sure do understand that kind of loss. Praying the Lord will comfort you and your family with lots of love and joy. Thank you for still listening to this song and sharing your story with me! Sending you lots of hugs right now. If you ever get out to Las Vegas I would love to meet you and get a hug in person! God bless you and your family always. ♥️ Tammy

Tammy , this brings back very special memories of seeing you in Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. It was a very long time ago but I never missed seeing you. If you still perform I would like to know. Still have a couple of autographed t-shirts. Thanks for the very good music.
This is so beautiful - I see there is only one CD available - that 's a shame as this is one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard . Rushing now to grab the cd online .
A dozen red roses And a simple bouquet Arrived at the church On her wedding day The bridesmaides gather 'round her Last details done But a dozen red roses Who could they be from The moment was close now The church filled with light She stood like a picture In a glow of white. All her friends awaiting The music softly playing Yet, she reached for the roses On the table where they lay. Then from the roses She picked up an envelope Her hand was guided by her heart And for every rose A single teardrop fell As she lifted her veil and read the card: "Your in your room sleeping As I write these words I know you won't read them till years from now" "God will call me home soon I'll miss you're wedding day, So your mom will keep This note to send With a rose bouquet" "So take one of these roses To hold in your hand And I'll be beside you, As Always, Love Dad"
Tammy do you remember preforming at the Shrimporee in Aransas Pass Texas, around 1996 or 1997?? When you sang this song you had little girls sit on the edge of the stage with you. I was shy and came up to the stage later, and you sat me on you lap while you sang. My father cried while he watched from the audience. And we still have my little sneakers that you autographed that night :)
Jackie Hamilton Awww... Thank you for still remembering me!! That touched my heart!! If you ever get to Vegas let us know! My husband and I would love to see you! God bless you and your family! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Tammy
I have been looking for this video for YEARS!!!!!!! Thank you so much for finding and posting it. Just in time for the anniversary of my dads death. THANK YOU
Wow I can't believe you're actually like someone that is famous and yet you're so ordinary. I mean I'm so glad you're on here. Are you still love the song when I was a teenager I just thought about it thinking of another one of your songs. I never had a dad and I probably I don't think I'll ever walk down the aisle. Anyways I'm blind and I just don't feel that I'm attractive. Anyway great song good to hear it again.
Thank You Edward and Tom!! It's nice to hear that people still remember this song and it still touches hearts!! If any of you ever come to Las Vegas please look me and my husband up at. WWW.Kentanimation.com. I would love to meet you! God bless you and your families!! Tammy
I am trying to purchase this song, either as an MP3 download or a CD, and I can't find it anywhere. My Granddaughter's wedding is July 30th. She lost her Dad (my son) when she was only four years old, and I'd love to present this to her along with the roses on her special day.
Hi Karen, this is Tammy's husband Kent. Tammy said she would be honored to give you a copy for your very special day!! Please send me your email address to kentdrummer@gmail.com and I will send you an MP3. Tell your granddaughter congratulations from both of us!! God Bless you and your family!!

A dozen red roses
And a simple bouquet
Arrived at the church
On her wedding day
The bridesmaides gather 'round her
Last details done
But a dozen red roses
Who could they be from
The moment was close now
The church filled with light
She stood like a picture
In a glow of white.
All her friends awaiting
The music softly playing
Yet, she reached for the roses
On the table where they lay.
Then from the roses
She picked up an envelope
Her hand was guided by her heart
And for every rose
A single teardrop fell
As she lifted her veil and read the card:
"Your in your room sleeping
As I write these words
I know you won't read them
till years from now"
"God will call me home soon
I'll miss you're wedding day,
So your mom will keep
This note to send
With a rose bouquet"
"So take one of these roses
To hold in your hand
And I'll be beside you,
As Always,
Love Dad"
