Some things about LBG, normal ammo loses damage the farther the monster is, this wasn't an issue before since pellet ammo was easy to use but now knowing the critical range is more important for normal and pierce, pierce in particular has a sweetspot so it doesn't deal damage if you are too close, but won't deal damage either if you shoot it from too far away
Why I hate ranged in a nutshell.

@iroxudont Great Sword and Longsword have a crit distance mechanic too technically. I'm not too sure about the other cutting type melee weapons but I know GS and LS have this.
You want the middle of the blade to hit the monsters. You hit it with only tip of the blade or too close to the forte (base of the blade) you do less damage.
That is why the extra long weapons in Frontier were such a popular meta because there was more forgiveness when it came to this mechanic.
I know you've gotten a lot of feedback already, but a few things you need to know for Jhen Mohren is that there are two weak spots that are breakable on his back, so getting on his back and spraying pellet, ice, or dragon would work. Cannonfire and Ballista are worth it, not to say they would out-damage you per se, but that they have no dropoff of damage the further distance they travel unlike bowguns, so for more consistent damage, you would want to use those, and save the majority of your ammo for the final showdown. You can use the gong or the ballista binder to stop him from hitting the ship in both phases of the fight, but I would suggest using one before the other, so one's constantly on downtime. As for the dragonator, you wanna use it in the ship phase to stop him from doing big dmg to the ship obviously, but in the second phase, you basically wanna use it anytime he's close to the ship. Keep it on constant downtime where you can use mainly bowgun to deal damage in the meantime. As for the final showdown itself, you mainly wanna shoot your pierce or ice/dragon into his two front arms. Doing enough damage breaks the arms and forces Jhen back a bit. You can do this twice, so its very useful to keep him off of the ship. Other then that, its up to you for killing him. Just shoot him as much as possible and you should get the dub. Go for it man, I'll be watching either the stream or video afterwards when you play again

Personally when it comes to solo Jhen Mohran I believe Great Sword is the best answer with a set that includes at least Focus and Artillery Up and eating for Felyne Pyro. Speed gathering is also great for getting more Ballista ammo faster especially in the end phase.
If you absolutely want to use ranged weapons you have to go with Pierce shot type bows or bowguns. When you are on the boat unable to climb it focus on its front limbs. Shooting down along the tusks is good damage.
When you are on its back its best to stand at least some distance away from the cracked spots on its dorsal ridge and not point blank to do better damage.
Inside Jhen's mouth is its greatest weak spot show when it falls over on its back take advantage of it.
It's subspecies is a bit of a different story though if you are doing that solo but I made a reliable bow set that let's me slay it fairly regularly but one must play a specific way to get the best DPS. But it requires the bow of the final boss monster.
Ballistas are worth. For the reason of your critical distance, so shooting him far away is better with ballistae. Other thing is they pierce now and give big damage.
You can easily repel him only using ballistae, cannons and dragonator. So yeah, use the big crossbow in the right moments for extra damage.
Another thing, your build is good and you should be doing good damage, but. Since you are not shooting in weakspots most of the time and are either too far away or too close the damage multipliers is shit. Critical Distance should be a 50% extra damage and weakspots(In general) 20. Anyway, keep the good content.
The critical distance for Normal should be something along the lines of a back roll, maybe a back roll and a half. Pierce is two.
Little extra for kill.
The best place to get damage is the cracks. His throat second phase and mouth, although usually going to the mouth loses more damage and time than just attacking the throat belly pelican thingie.

Zero, if you are going to go after Jhen again I would probably recommend a rapid fire is bowgun with ice attack up, I think the barioth one has rapidfire ice
I have check for possible armors to make this but this is just in theory phase because i can't test it

any leggings with 3 slots (Gobul leggings work)

With this you will get ice atk +2 and 5 gem slots for other things you might be able to gem in.

@@XZeroik his two biggests weaknesses is Ice and Dragon, since you can only have 3 dragon shots i would recommend ice and he has the same amount of weakness for both of them

Because Emulators are perfectly legal by themselves.
The legality only comes into question when the BIOS comes prepackaged with the emulator, or with downloading games.
Emulators like the PCSX2 require you to rip the BIOS from your own PS2 for this reason.
Now most companies are willing to live and let live, begrudgingly or not. But Citra/Yuzu devs got greedy and got gobsmacked by Nintendo.
