I stayed there years ago and I like that they remodeled the rooms. It is one of the last themed hotels, but I think they did/do I good job with the theme. My favorite part would be the restaurant areas that make you feel like you are on the streets of New York. Also, the Park is good for people watching 😂
As a New Yorker, I love NYNY! I've said many time that it feels like when I was on Sesame Street as a kid. AKA a set. It's cute and as affordable as Vegas get without sacrificing cleanliness or amenities. Love Sirricos. Il Fornaio used to be one of my faves. The sports book needs a major overhaul for sure. I've stayed here twice over the last 2 decades and I'm happy to see the renovated rooms. Great review!
you are the 🐐 of resort reviews 🙌🏽 appreciate your thoroughness and transparency, and above all, your trips to the fitness center. that’s not something most your peers spend anytime on. great work and more power 👊🏽
Great video! NYNY is my favorite casino to look at in Vegas. I stayed in one of their rooms once and they upgraded me to a room with a jacuzzi tub and strip view, which was nice. Their casino bar is the loudest place I’ve ever been in Vegas, though. It’s like they were trying to make you go deaf.
Great video Jaycation. I love Shake Shack as well, especially the fries. As for NY NY, it is one of my favorite Vegas casinos & its location is excellent. I especially like Sirrico's & I agree with you about America restaurant.
Awesome detailed review Jaycation! I hope the theme resorts don't go away anytime soon. NYNY grew on me, living across from Manhattan, I agree with Action Kid's sentiments. I'm glad you showed the pizza place! It is a great deal for a slice and drink. They did a great job with the room renovations. 🤗😎😄
This coming October will be our 3rd time staying at NYNY; we just love the location! 1st time since Reno. There is a refrigerator 😮. The bands outside, and the ability to just sit and people watch.

Stayed there a couple times within the last 2 years. It’s pretty good but can be confusing as hell with all the turns u have to take to get to ur room. I’m staying at mirage because I’m comped there. For some reason I rarely get comped at nyny. I’m usually only comped at Excalibur and Luxor
The quote on the wall “Darling I love you …”. Is a reference to the opening song from the old TV sitcom _Green Acres_ . Look it up and it will make more sense.
Absolutely love New York. Just stayed at Grand last week and Luxor back in December. But New York is one of my favorites along with Bellagio and Venetian. We also had the Soho room and the extra space helped make the room super comfortable.
Grand is just to big for me. Everytime i have stayed there I feel like i walk and walk and walk and im still no where. Luxor traditionally has been my go to for cheaper then Aria or Bellagio for higher end. Cant wait to check out Cosmo balcony room. Cant wait to check out NYNY in December my first stay.
Stayed here back in 2013, found it to be a solid mid-range option. It doesn't feel run down or cheap but doesn't have the glamour of other Vegas hotels. There are reasonable food options. nice theme (yes I've been to New York a few times), solid location. On the downside no real night life, no poker room and the pool was quiet and quite a bit of it in the shade.
Thanks for the Video Jay I like what they did with NYNY rooms. Think this going be my MGM budget property choice. Also was 0:19 a mistake? "San Diego,CA" lol or you advertising your new channel?
You should have notified the front desk that the safe was locked. They would have sent up Security to open the safe. This happened to me. When Security opened the safe, a $100 bill was inside that left by the previous guest.
Enjoyed our stay at NYNY. Room was very nice and lots to see and do. Very kid friendly and pool area was nice and big. Only negative was maybe a bit too south the central strip area. Still lots to see and do at the hotel and near the hotel.
I only been to Las Vegas once I never stayed in any of those hotels or eat at the restaurant. It’s because I went with a group of people and I did what they wanted to do, but when I go back to Las Vegas to visit I am definitely going to do what want to do and see all the things that I missed!
I met Jeff & Kristina at the Beer Haus before a Depeche Mode concert last December. I was with my cousins but I was able to chat with them a bit. Hope to get back down this fall and hangout with them more.
I stayed at NYNY back in the 90s when it was new and have rode the coaster before and it was a lot of fun. Probably a smoother ride back then. I don't remember what the rooms looked like but love the new look. I'd probably request a higher floor so I'm up above everything and can enjoy a better view of the strip. I've always loved the look of the building and it makes it different then just the average design of other Vegas properties.
Woke up today (Halloween) and decided, I wanna go to Vegas last minute…. I gotta see which MGM resort I have offers at and which has the best gym as I’m not screwing up my routine…. As always, thanks Kuya Jay! You never disappoint with your helpful content! Hope to see you and Dadcation around SD someday!
Hey. Thanks for the informative video. My wife and I are staying next week for 5 nights so I discovered lots for tips from your trip 👍 We’re flying on to Oahu after Vegas so I’ve also saved some of your other videos and will binge watch on the long flight to Vegas from the UK 👍
Hey jaycation I’ll be in Vegas this coming August I can’t wait to meet you in person and to take a picture with you and to hang out with you for the weekend
We had a good stay there in December! We were offered an upgrade to a Soho Premium Stay Well strip view room. It was in the Chrysler Tower on the 25th floor and didn't have the strange tint on the window. It was slightly bigger with a couch and the stay well amenities. Our room actually had a fridge, so that was cool. I would stay here again if I was trying to keep the hotel cost down.
Hi Jay, nice review. I haven’t stayed at NYNY for quite a bit. It still looks all familiar, though. I remember the deli being good, Nathan’s upstairs was Nathan’s and good. I don’t remember the pizza and beer deal but the pie was good. I do have a very fond memory of a stay there during an early visit to CES. I left my friends at the show and headed back to the hotel to get some gaming time in. That’s how I was getting comps or low rates for Comdex then CES. I was playing an 8/5 Bonus Poker 25¢ machine. (Excellent odds for a Strip casino!) I got dealt a Royal. The only one of my life. (So far) It was also the first Vegas hotel I stayed at after 9/11. The trip was booked and it was a few weeks after. It was emotional and Miss Liberty was a repository of flowers and ribbons and Teddy bears etc. There was a giant mural over check-in. The Twin Towers still stood in the painting. 🙏 Memories both good and sad. Joe Oh and I was born and raised in NYC, grew up mostly in Queens. NYNY H&C is just fine as an homage to the duty. It hits all the notes. I’ve lived in L.A. since 1977. I’m 67 now.
I go to Vegas several times a year. I always stay at NYNY or Park MGM. The location is perfect if you are attending events at T Mobile, Allegiant Stadium or Dolby Live. It’s a short 25 minute walk/tram ride from NYNY to Allegiant stadium. I love gambling at NYNY because the casino isn’t too big (like MGM) and they have a DJ at the Center Bar at night. The DJ plays great music and pumps up the crowd. I love playing roulette by the DJ area…I’m able to gamble and still be part of the party at Center Bar. Also, right outside NYNY is the Brooklyn Bridge and they always have free live music at night and televised sporting events on occasion. Dueling piano bar is great and the pizza is fantastic! Viva Las Vegas!
Happy New Year Jaycation. New York New York looks really good. Love the room. May need to stay there sometime. Definitely has lots of food options. The bathroom is small so you can have the New York experience. LOL I think Terry Fator's last name is pronounced Fay-ter. That's how I heard it when he was at the Mirage.
Thanks, Jay. We really enjoyed our stay at NYNY and booked it again for our next trip. It's a smaller hotel which we liked and the park area is great to chill in. Our premiere room had a fridge luckily! Always enjoy an appearance by the mod farther Pat 75.
I remember when this hotel was being built figuring I've been coming to Las Vegas since 1994, yep I've been in this property so many times my brother and I tried that America restaurant two years ago and it sucked big time and so did that Sandwich shop but the fish and chips place that was good on my end, and I have a special place for that pizza place downstairs I have had so many slices there over the years in good and bad times so yeah.😋😋😋😋 The room is not something I like and again no fridge that's MGM for you and aside form that it's just to small for my tastes thanks for the tour anyway Jay we'll catch you on the next one😊😊😊😊

Just found this video. The non-smoking signs are more prominent because of the pot smokers/vapers. They argue that "pot is legal". So are cigarettes, you can't smoke ANY of it in the room. I know a few front desk folks that take complaints about pot smoke when folks check in and hit them with a $300 cleaning fee. People can do what they want, but when they stink up the hallway, they're just horrible neighbors.
One of my favorites hotels to stay at. Greenbergs Deli is amazing with the giant sandwiches. (Better than Earls 😄) Have not tried the pizza place but def will have to now.
They need to bring back themed style hotels to Vegas!.... I think that's where Fontainebleau missed the mark trying to be upscale when there are plenty of upscale hotels already in Vegas. They should have went with some kind of themed style resort to bring in all demographics from families to adults they would have had better opening success. That's where resorts world miss the mark also the original plans were to have different parts of the globe but they abandoned that theme for some reason!?
I used to work at a hotel and we could only charge for smoking in the room if we saw evidence like ashes or butts. If it smelled like smoke we couldn't charge without physical evidence. But might depend on the hotel. And it wasn't in Vegas.
