This is such precious advice. Heed these words if you want a great mix. Took me years to figure this one out.
thank you so much boss! I appreciate your support greatly
If it took you "years" to figure it out, you're either lying with exaggeration or still suck at mixing music. Mixing in Mono is an old school technique of the 70-80s. It's not a new method.
ShadowKing Studios same here, but 2 years, but i barely mix so dont blame me lol
@@ShadowKingStudios hes saying he used to suck.. You asshole
@@ShadowKingStudios
My dude, you don't instantly start as a pro! The fuck are you on about? I've been interested in beatmaking since I was like 11, and now, 6 years later I'm getting used to it and feel better with the sound of my music. I've started learning from youtube producers for the last year, and I've improved a lot since then. Figuring things out on your own can be really hard for some people, like it was for me, but getting help from others is never a bad thing, just like with anything, getting help is a good idea
This is 2020 I'm using FL 20, this technique still works wonders.
Thanks buddy for this amazingly detailed tutorial.
Love from India.
"This is probably gonna hurt turn down your headphones" you gave me like a 1 second notice 😂😂😂

Thanks for watching! Not trying come off as rude, but before producing I Engineered, using cubase , protools and (sometimes logic in one the studios I ran) the DAW doesn't matter haha, I still use cubase for all my tracking and recording but FL to produce!

What up @LifeStyleDidit great video bro been a part of FL Gang for some years now and you've taught me a few new things I really didn't grasp as well as I do appreciate it, but @ 16:25 if you want to mute your fx plugins, the FX buttons (those that are glowing yellow) at the bottom of each mixer is what you can click on to easily cut the fx chains for each mixer channel.
thanks g!
@@LifeStyleDidIt no problem bro! appreciate what you doing! "FLGANG"
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you homie!
Allen Sparrow of course g! Thank you for the recommendation and support
Key thing of this whole video.. He said it at 6:26... Your phone, is mono..because its one speaker..If you can get your mix to sound good in mono (one speaker) then that means its going to sound great and so wide (in stereo) thru two speakers...
I like the fact that you aded your logo on your eq. Great marketing idea!
thank you bro!
Vapor Gawd well spotted
Finally i found mono mixing 😅 important info bro thanks 🔥
Re watched this! Makes so much more sense!

Lol I finally understood it at 6:23 nice vid bro thanks so much!!
thanks for watching!
Thanks g and what about mastering then? Should we master in mono as well?
@LifeStyleDidlt many thanks, great info! :) by the way, what vst do you use to make that great bass? Keep the excelent work, bro!
I might be a little late, but you can turn the fx off by hitting the fx switch that's lit up on the bottom of each mixer track bro. Also, Love all your videos! When I reach the level i wanna be at, soundwise lol, I would love to collab someday.
thank you for watching my g!
awesome video... nicely explained. thank you very much bro.
Anindya Bhattacharya you’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Really helpful thanks!
Glad it helped!
money can't buy expertise like this
Nath Jones appreciate you boss!
this was very helpful, thank you.
Great content this was a very useful video, you're gonna grow!
when eq boosting it sounds more natural to use a wide bell rather than a narrow. its probably the easiest way to explain it from what i've learned.
Thank you man! Very helpful advice.
Of course boss! glad I could help you out, I appreciate you watching. thank you
Of course boss! glad I could help you out, I appreciate you watching. thank you

Default ... was the word you were looking for at the 5:28 mark of this video ... yw🤣👍 ... thx for the info tho ... really helpful
Another great tutorial. I just discovered you so im going through watching your tutorials.
When you mix and level in mono, do you level again when you take it back to stereo ?
TurCoD thank you boss! I️ will change some levels when I go back to stereo but nothing crazy just small adjustments sometimes, mono gets my leveling done 98%
Thanksss man I appreciate your time
thank you so much brother!
Thanks for the advice bro, this is what I wanted to know, i just started mixing in mono as well, i just did not know where to start and how i was going to pan some sounds when I'm in mono because I been used to mixing in stereo for years and some of my tracks did luckily translate well but some and most did not, until someone told me to stay mixing in mono if I want my tracks to translate well everywhere
Thanks for the video bro that's useful!
great explanation
@LifeStyleDidIt, there is a super quick way of disabling mixer plugins. All you have to do to disable them is click the yellow FX button at the bottom of each mixer track.
Prod. By MDOTDASUPA yes sir! Just stuck in my ways
this is a good lession
My first time bro I love music mastering
Great Tutorial man !
M2R Music thank you!!
What happened with his brother is what made me subscribe
Very helpful bro thanks :)
KonCheeki Beats welcome G!
awesome video.. can you make a video about how to make the 808 patterns that fit and sound good with the kick
neeraj singh yeah I could do that. Honestly the easiest way is to do the kicks first and get a nice rhythm going, then just copy and paste the kick pattern into the 808 and just make sure the notes you choose are in key. Then go around and have fun with it
THERE IS ANY WAY TO FIND OUT WHICH NOTE SOUND BEST...
neeraj singh go off ear, usually the same (lowest) note of your melody or chords
I've been having problem on how to differentiate this MONO AND Stereo ... thank you for arresting them for me...am getting closer to my THRONE... God bless you bro..
Tnx for the video my G.
JR MELO you’re welcome! Thanks for watching
Great video ❗️❗️
Good video Bro. Thanks!
thanks for watching!
Can u do a video on like say a piano that clashes with the 808 but you still want those low frequencies in the piano. How do you separate them?
Facts
Thank you sir
Thanks
Well put, bro :) THX!
thanks for watching!
I don’t fuck around in mono, but I know of this advice, someone slap me right now, gonna start mixing in mono more
great video, thanks for the advice! When cutting out the lower frequencies, how do you decide between using a real lowcut vs a low shelf? (because i've seen you doing both)
Just using your ear! low shelf is calmer
a low shelf will give it a more natural sounding cut vs the lowcut will result in a more dramatic change in the eq. so like he said use ur ears and if in doubt try both and go with whatever u prefer!
So you pan your instruments after you leveled your mix or before?
Thanks bro nice tutorial
thanks for watching!
Bruh hol on I didn't even know that stereo separation knob existed in the mixer 😭😭😭 Mans be giving out so many keys 🔑
I'm the type that mix a bit while I'm making my melodies up.. Should I put each channel in mono right away after recording it?
Killed me with the "Bass with no bass" lmao
