    If it sounds good in mono, then you're good. I like mixing in low volumes & raise up my interface for my monitors.

      This technique is even better if you're using outboard gear like a neve which would force you to put it trough it in mono first to do your eq moves from there which makes even more sense

    mix in mono, mix in stereo, mix loud, mix quiet, mix medium, do it all if you really want to sound good, also I do recommend while mixing in stereo to do some creative mid side processing so you can get a full and wide mix without anything colliding

    Great tip. Also If you really want to get a good mix balance turn off one of your studio monitors and try to mix on just one! It really helps you to focus sounds and make space.....

    Correct me if I'm wrong. When we start a mix 1. Turn into mono 2. Levelling 3. creative effects 4.subtractive eq 5. Turn into stereo 6.then panning and stereo selection of individual sounds.??

      kanav gupta it’s truly up to you. Usually it’s a leveled mix, corrective EQ, compression, additive EQ, effects. But it’s up to each person

    You know, I was always told to mix in mono but me being hard headed, stayed mixing in stereo and then would wonder why everything is clashing so much. I'm actually excited to utilize this in the progression of my mixes. Thank you for yet another great one lifestyle!

    Very nicely demonstrated technique 👍🏻The biggest challenge for me (and for many others I imagine) is the EQ-ing bit. I often make a big mess. It’s not that easy to getting right.

    Hi, when I do the Mid Side EQ it's like turning the mono knob to 50% so it doesn't work if I turn the mono knob all the way. how to have the same stereo sound but in mono without phase problem, because when I listen to my mix on an android it sounds bad because of the mono and when I listen to other professional mixes on android, I have the impression that it sounds like in stereo

    Definitely the best way to make it clear and fresh. I have only on e question about trap beats. How to make kicks hard AF without clipping? When they sound clean and not clashing with 808 it's very good of course, but I still feel them weak into the mix. It is good to use a soft clipper only for kicks so that you can make it a bit louder without ruining the balance of other drums and instruments? And additionally, it's a good idea to use DRUM BUSSES and put compression and additional eq only for the drums pattern? Thanks guys
