Still happy the 8. No need for me to upgrade.
First time looking at go pros, i can say that.... to me.. number 8 looks alot better like in the sense of... not to much realism with a cinematic type of color to it which is ideal for videos, but 10 is also better quality. Id probably go with 10, but 8 is really nice i think if it had a front screen. But 8 looks good to me.

I actually have all of these gopro’s and aside of hypersmooth, the 5 black is the goat. As far as hypersmooth the 8 is the best. Gopro’s are action cameras and “too smooth” has been a complaint since the 9 launched. You cannot feel detached from what you are filming, and the 8 has just enough hypersmooth to make it feel like you are there, and still get the job done. If you don’t need stabilizing the 5 black is 80-100 bucks and does excellent. The 8 gives the most “in the moment” feeling shots and no major improvements in quality above it. I do use the features on the 9, 10, and 11…… but if i had none I’d buy the 5 or 8 black. Ps- the 10 has amazing battery life over my 9. I don’t know why you had that issue. Keep in mind that with most apps processing before uploading there’s nothing the 8 cant do the others can once you start processing footage. The video quality will be the same.
The 5 is the equivalent of the ipad that apple made forever even when they sold newer models. It’s solid and thats when gopro stepped up their quality.

on the gopro 11, Horizon Leveling/Lock, you can set this so it rotates? right? I want it to be able to show wipeouts, when we flip the Quads, or ride on the side of hills..ect.
Got 11 for horizon lock. Finally not restricted to 2.7k in MaxMode. Also 8:7 is interesting as well as 10min color makes it pop more.
I bought a new GoPro 8 on sale for $170 and am happy with it. After your video I'm even more satisfied. I didn't notice much difference in quality. Thank you .
Well, Go Pro 8 still not bad with the other latest upgrade.

I was confused but this video has helped me hands down! I’ll go for GoPro 9 since I care a lot about battery and I only need a camera to use underwater and take some pictures here ans there while traveling ans switch it with my iPhone. I’m not a professional or looking for any professional shooting, bottom line 9 will work just fine for me!

I’d say the only one of these cameras that is now lacking is the hero 8. The stabilisation and overall jitteriness of the video is enough to rule that one out. The hero 9,10 and 11 are all very similar, with just small upgrades over the last. But certainly not enough for me to want to upgrade from my hero 9 black.

I noticed you made a mistake with the battery length on the Hero 9 and 11. During the video testing you stated that the Hero 9 lasted the longest at 69 minutes and the hero 11 lasted 66 minutes. But, at the conclusion portion you got the numbers inverted. Just an observation.

I bought my first GoPro an got a deal on a hero 8, I use it for kayaking trips an it’s been good so far. I’m still learning what I can do on it.

GoPro 9 Black makes me some issues that i didn’t had with GoPro 8 Black.
I am filming a lot of car racing videos where GoPro camera steady mounted on the car is and filming only one direction. The problem is that i have those movements in the video every time driver turns left or right even as i said camera is on the cars roof recording only one direction. For example i had GoPro

The 8 is nearly half the price for me, but I really like the extra resolution for smoothing. better stabilization, and more FPS when going for slow mo....
If the price difference weren't so big the 11 would be a no brainer, obviously.

After this video i decided to upgrade my hero 3+ black with an 8 black. It’s incredible how good is the digital stabilizer. Bought it fo 249 with one year subscription included

Do you have any issue with Hero10 where it freezes when you're charging? I have a Hero10 that freezes every time I leave it charged for few hours and had to be reset by press and hold MODE. I did an RMA with GoPro but the replacement does the exact same thing too. I think this may be a known issue but not sure if everyone using Hero10 is seeing the same thing
Gopros are known to overheat and freeze up.

Yes it works much better. Even the Hero 10 already has the better display, because GoPro has installed a new chip from this version.

i have a gopro hero 4 silver , hero session, and hero 8. hero 8 is my favortie right behind the session. the hero 4 i really dont care for it has bad camera quality and it doesnt have a built in good waterproof microphone like the session and hero 8. surprisingly my hero session has way better battery life out of them all.

Only problem I had with your battery test... not ALL battery's are created equal. There's so many factors like, how many charge/discharge cycles has the battery experienced? Battery's age(a brand new Li-Ion battery needs at least 2 to 3 full cycles before it'll take a full charge)? Batteries temperature inside the device. Do all the battery's have the same milli-Amp hour(mAh) rating? For GoPro 9/10/11/12, they all use the same battery format so you could test a single battery across all 4 of those devices. The Hero8 would be odd man out as it's battery case is physically smaller(the 8 is smaller than the later 4 since those 4 use the same Camera housing and thus is it's mAh rating is lower).

Got the hero 9 not even slightly upset it looks really good not to mention most people watch video back at 1080 or less due to buffer times and pausing so altho the 4k is nice its definitely not a must have atm considering most people dont run at 4k such as this video rn i have 3 bars at 5g and its still playing at 360p so most people wont even notice
You record in 4k then you can render it on computer in 1080, but it will be better quality if recorded in 1080

Bought a cheaper 2ndhand hero 8, Guess I just stick to it until it last.
No one talks about the power on off button on the 8 which is pathetic and once its worn out ur gopro will not be waterproof anymore .From 9 onwards the power on off button is much bigger and raised .So 10 is the perfect one imo right now .

If the camera is going to lose water-proofness, might as well get a "naked" version for FPV and save 100~ grams.

Yes, you are absolutely correct! The battery values for hero 9 and 11 are reversed. With 69 minutes of battery runtime the GoPro Hero 9 is the most durable of the competition! Thanks for noting.
