      Tamara Kuhn,
      Most Richly Blessed
      by an Unknown Civil War Veteran
      Displayed in the Lobby of the Shreveport, LA Veterans Hospital
      I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
      I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
      I asked for health, that I might do great things.
      I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
      I asked for riches, that I might be happy.
      I was given poverty, that I might become wise.
      I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men.
      I was given weakness, that I might feel the need for God.
      I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life.
      I was given Life, that I might enjoy all things.
      I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I had hoped for.
      Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers and true needs were fulfilled.
      I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

    My Lord and I are going through this process of being tested with wealth, increase in my life has now enabled me to make rather generous donations monthly to not just one but two charities. I buy food for 3 drug addicts I know regularly and I really appreciate the fact that I am able to now. I spent 20 years unable to work; injuries sustained. So to now have to get out of bed in the morning and whip Stroke survivors bums etc as a Disability Support Worker is something that I am truely thankful for.

    Yes rabbi, you are so correct. People chasing money or wanting to have someone else's in order for things to be 'more equitable' is ridiculous. If you want money work for it. Noone is stopping you except --- you. Wanting that Jews should not be able to make money will not stop us. As others have tried before. We will overcome obstacles.

      In addition, your work may be one that oppresses others in one way or another.
      This is not the realization of equality. So not everything that is considered work is completely useful as it can even be harmful.

    Rabbi, as a gardener who gives much of my produce to those in need, I must say there is a great amount of time and work involved in gardening, to dismiss this seems to lack understanding of the real time and work involved in food production, and it is a great amount! For at least 5 months of each year I work daily in my gardens and give away bags of food each week, and the amount of food in each bag is worth more than $1.00. For decades I have intentionally grown more food than I need. I call this my "labor of love" and those who I give food to feel loved!. I am very sad to hear you dismiss gardening and growing food to give to others as of less than $1.00 in value.

    • @GinaLoriDuncan
      @GinaLoriDuncan 3 місяці тому

      That's not what he meant. I am a gardener. When we give away produce we have raised, we are giving our labor (tilling, planting, weeding, watering, harvesting) just as anyone would give money from their labor. You are intelligent and giving but also a contentious troublemaker. Perhaps your gifts are for the purpose to control the recipients.

    Biblical purpose of Money:
    Animals have to hunt for their food.
    1. Humans have to work for their food. in the beginning, Own land, Flow Earth or land, plant the right seeds, wait on right Seasons, harvest, mill or grind, It takes about a year to make a sandwich.
    Takes a long time, this is the curse of the Sweat of the Brow.
    When God Curses, there is always a hidden blessing:
    a. you come in contact with other people.
    b. you have to learn to get along with people;
    c. it puts you in touch with people (very Valuable);
    d. They contribute to your life, or you contribute to their lives.
    e. You have to come back home with some achievements to bless the family.
    f. Your purpose in life is more than just family, charity, and Prosperity.
    g. Many will need help to be able to survive, and to make a living; so we all need help from others. Your boss provides you a place to earn money to keep you off the streets.

    You know what's funny ? Is that in the story of sarai ,when she was barren she gave hagar her maidservant to Abram to near a child in her stead . At first when she got pregnant hagar was giving sarai looks as if I can have babies you can't, as a consequence sarai casted the ayin hara( evil eye) on her making her miscarriage . So jealously played a big role on part of Sarah's behavior . My point is Abraham was a great pioneer of faith representing the knowledge of God's existence the who can do it all and yet Sarah having as a husband lacked heavily on faith in God to miraculously granting her a child of her own her lack of faith was so severe she laughed when the angel of lord told abraham about it. I mean she shouldn't have been jealous at all of hagar in the first place the way abraham spoke about God in his city everyday and teaching monotheism to all nations and future children. It goes to show that even though was poor and short in faith in ahigher power and authority dies not represent very well monotheism like abraham did . Abraham blindly believed in God and heed his voice while Sarah was so materialistic and so poor spiritually. The whole meaning of my point is to never give up on the chances that God will if you desire it enough grant you your inner desires . Let's not be like Sarah that devastatingly lacked belief and trust in God. Enough to be jealous of hagar as if God's power is so limited and powerless. Whenever you feel you are in a hard place like Sarah keep talking to God in your soul and insisting, pleading and begging heavily to the lord as much as you can just work very hard toward that goal just like Rabbi said that we will work one year just so we can eat a sandwich. God cursed us with sweat and labor we will eat and raise our children another revelation I just got is that another one of the reasons God cursed us with hard work to achieve our desires. Is because God made us in his image therefore to teach us a valuable lesson about how God worked for 6 days to create the world and so rested on the seventh day from all the work he has done . Is an example and lesson to allow us to know how God from his point of view worked to create from the impossibility life as we know it and all things seen and unseen. God definitely wanted us to be like Him on so many levels. And degrees . Never exactly like Him but nearly exactly like him. Our only limit is that we don't create ourselves or earth or heaven there is a threshold a barrier , an unseen wall or fence that would never allow us to reach God's equal status. Everything we do on earth is a miniscule scale. Compared to God's absolute universal scale. Of universal proportions. But like the say tge sky is the limit. Indeed the sky is our very own limit. We should ever never ever be jealous of anyone ever it would be an insult to God himself. Because we are allowing our limited consciousness to belittle God as someone incapable, powerless, weak, unable to do the things we desire if so we desire it strong enough is a huge mistake to take from others as if God can't provide it himself. Get this into your stiff necked head God will answer you and provide as long as you don't give up and keep working very hard for it. A good worker deserve what's coming to him because he worked very hard for it. A lazy man will never truly deserve anything because he simply don't care and did not work for anything to be jealous is of people that have the self entitled or entitlement attitude. While many of us sweat so hard for what we want and the audacity of others to dare be jealous of what they didn't work for just like Sarah no wonder Israel inherited this trait from his grandmother Sarah they just lack faith in God. Utter unbelief. Embarrassing unbelief just pray as hard as you can be committed. Keep pushing keep begging , keep working keep desiring God for it eventually you will break through and when it happens is will be very well deserved and no one will be able to yank it off you. It will have your name on it written by God Himself. God guarantees you If work for it it will be yours let's no make the mistake Sarah made assuming Abraham's faith was a joke. She demonstrated it when the angel of the lord told abraham and she laughed to herself saying at this age and past bearing ability how s that possible and the angel heard her laugh .just embarrassingly poor and lack of faith .

      this was so beautiful. I appreciate you taking the time to write this. It was very motivating and i agree with everything that was said. This gave me pride for believing in God. I will take heed to this and have exponentially more faith in God. God can do all things

      @@drek273 thank but I have to be honest God himself is opening my mind to see the things so many of us fail to see ,this is why I say I have a revelation. It means that God is shedding light to a hidden truth in plain sight and because is a revelation I write it down before I forget it. Because I know is not coming from me directly I will just forget it after a while. So I take this opportunity to write it on here because people on here either are Torah scholars Rabbis or jews or non-jews that wants to learn Torah ( word of god) it is indeed my deep inner desire to know the truth of Torah and continuously talk to God without ceasing for answers and help for difficult things in life , and many times in my life I argue with God just like Abraham or Moses or many prophets on why He is being unfair to me not helping me find answers and reveal them my point is I'm absolutely convinced there is a higher power unseen for everyone, but is attainable only if you worlk very hard and very deep and very consistently on your goals. No one here said is easy but hard work pays off let's take as an example Abraham when God appeared to Abraham after years 99 years of consistently firmly believing in a great maker. All that hard work finally paid off. We can't afford to be lazy. Lazy enough to give up so easily. Another example is when Isreal wrestled with the angel and wouldn't let go of the angel making the angel beg Jacob to let him go is faith war. Jacob just believed very hard and prayed for a good encounter with his brothers esau as in elijah bowing seven times to pray for rain to come back again, seven times that's called determination ,dedication. They all knew that's what it takes hard work I just mean that anything is doable just risk blindly ,make a fool of yourself even if you have to with your peers unbelievers, let them laugh like Sarah did or Abraham, just accept in your heart that it is attainable as long as you work for it when i say work for it I mean pray , talk to God even if you don't know what you looking at or for just direct your energy in declaration that there is a creator all those things didn't just appear out of random happenstance, or spontaneity, there is a higher power determining that we all exist.and whoever that is it is our God No questions asked ,we will get there eventually as long as we keep pushing very hard

    Everyone of my days is spent in the company of Jews mostly in Kabbalah studies (Bnei Baruch). I wouldn't be in these studies if I first had not had an awakening from Rabbi Manis Friedman. In Kabbalah everyone who is working to connect with other Jews to bring contentment to the Creator is considered Israel (strait to the Creator). My problem is in order to be connected with every Jew I need an orthodox conversion. There are so many obstacles to me being accepted by orthodox Judaism. Noahide I am not. Do you think the Creator will make me be born into this world again if I fail to achieve an orthodox conversion before my death? It worries me that I hear our world is in the same condition as it was prior to the holocaust. Where do I stand if we come to this. I can only state I am a Jew, but yet I am not acceptable to orthodoxy. I'm not anything else. Would choosing to stand with Jews in a holocaust and being killed make me acceptable? Who am I really? Whatever happened in the past that caused this grieves me deeply, yet I know whatever is my fate it is just. The Creator only does good. I just wish I could fix the mess I am in.

    I don’t think the people who have money are bad so much as I think the debt currency is a bad system. It’s too easy to devalue currency and hide it from the common people. It has bad ripple effects like destabilizing middle and lower middle income people, and discouraging independent competition.
    Since the U.S government is partially funding itself with loans, it creates a huge amount of corruption and excess spending. They pay way above true market rates for everything but wages, and the bureaucracy absorbs alot of the revenue as well.
    If you ignore that the economy is pretty efficient, there is about the right amount of regulation. There is however too much inflation and waste. Corporate taxes need to be higher, not so much because people don’t have a right to be rich, but because you need to keep a flow of money out of the hands of private enterprise. The government can waste money in research and public patents, and environmental protection and repair programs.
    Really money is a cool thing. It’s liquid power, but it’s so dangerous when it becomes your god. People who love money more then wisdom and charity, cannot really be your high level leaders. The private money people are suppose to be their own culture outside of politics. Money is just to dirty for politicians even religious people often times. It has a corrupting effect because when you have money you can have basically anything you want.
    Your government should be humble philosophers and scientists, maybe some lawyers in the court system. Your finance should be private groups who give a portion of their money in taxes and also charity. Your money should be backed by a government trust of assets, including blockchain computing, and land and mineral assets. Good and silver are useful and valuable. Make your currency as good as gold, and separate the houses of finance and politics and the human race will prosper well into the future. I just make suggestions. People can have good things if they want and they work for it.

    B"H
    There is one guideline that I've used all of my life to know how much wealth or poverty I can handle: The optimum amount of time for Torah learning that a given economic situation affords. If a Jew is too poor to be able to learn Torah maximally because his or her health is failing from their poverty, they are hounded by creditors, they have to work so many hours to make ends meet that they don't have maximal time to learn Torah, that Jew is too poor. If a Jew is distracted from Torah studies by having to deal with investments, meetings, obligations, purchases, checking their stocks and protecting themselves from theft and competitors, that Jew is too rich.
    The Rothschilds do not have the optimum time to learn Torah any more than the Jews who lived in cold water flats on the lower east side had. They are both not optimizing being Jewish.
    Ephraim's place is greater than that of Menashe. If we all learned like Ephraim, there would be no world generated in which economic and political sophistication is necessary for security. Menashe too would sit in tents and learn.

    There's one problem with your philosophy, Rabbi. In Jewish and other families, some children were born into ancestral inheritances and others were not. The kids with money, went to the best schools and universities and became high ranking professionals. Their neglected cousins who were poor, were never given the chance to become the same type of high ranking professionals, because the rich cousins, stole the inheritances of their poor cousins. Jews and Arab Christians, hypocritically neglect to refer to these facts. The theft of inheritances is something Rabbis and Priests, never talk about, because sometimes, they are in cahoots with the rich people.

Your charities have raised millions and helped many, but do you live a simple life anymore?
