I'm 67 years old, so I've been around enough to see plenty of people get divorced, starting with my own parents, so I know a bit about it. I've also been happily married to the love of my life for 38 years, and known no other, so I think I know what it takes to make a marriage work. In that marriage I've been both a working wife and a stay-at-home wife, under different circumstances, and that wasn't an issue between us. But let's look at the divorces I've witnessed, and what went wrong. 1) People marry who they think they're supposed to want, instead of looking for someone who actually suits who they are. This is the biggest cause of first divorces. 2) People marry others with an intent to change them. They aren't marrying the person, they're marrying a fantasy and want to remodel a random human being into something that other is not. 3) One or both parties conceal who they are until after the marriage--or one or both fails to find out who the other one really is. This can include ignoring warning signs that the other is abusive or manipulative, or even a criminal, but it can also mean pretending to be someone else in order to get a spouse, without giving thought to how hard it would be to keep the pretense up for the rest of one's life. 4) When tempted with adultery, they think that the person they feel attracted to is the solution to their yearning, instead of their yearning being a warning sign that they need to fix something in their marriage. If somebody else seems to offer what's missing in your marriage, you need to sit down with your spouse and say, "I need this missing thing" and not just assume that you can only have it by breaking your vow. 5) Thinking that differences that develop after the marriage means that you're "growing apart". You're supposed to do that! You're both going to grow, so for awhile that will mean doing some separate things--but that just gives you new stuff to talk about. That's what renews a marriage, keeps it from getting boring. One of you develops in a new way, the other doesn't understand, and then you talk and you pull back together again as the other begins to appreciate, if not for him or herself necessarily, but at least appreciate how much this means for you. 5) Resisting doing anything new, chopping off all avenues of growth, till you both feel stunted and suffocated. Let yourselves differ, and then fall in love with the new version all over again, and come back together! Because if you know each other before you marry, you will love whoever develops out of the person you first fell in love with. When I was young and beautiful, occasionally married men would insult me by trying to persuade me to commit adultery with them. They always used the same line: "My wife doesn't understand me." I would reply, "You don't understand your wife! Or me!" and walk away from them. But really it all comes down to understanding--how much are you willing to understand, and to be understood?
Thank you very much for this conversation. Talking about a state of mind, I find that greed can increase when wealth increases. It is true that people with a lot of money cannot spare it like a person with no wealth. Because their greed intensifies. The state of mind is so important.

I was born in 1948. I had a Jewish upbringing. I was never taught anything at all about money. Not one thing. Spent saturdays at the reform temple learning about Jewish history, culture, and customs, a few days some hours after public school was over, were spent learning Hebrew. The word money was never even mentioned. Same thing in public school. Not a word about money. We weren't even taught how to properly make change, how a sales clerk should count up from the amount of the sale to the amount tendered by the customer. Everything I learned about money I learned as a result of my curiosity that caused me to ask questions, and go to the public library. When I had money questions for my parent, they were reluctant to answer. It is as if they wanted to prevent me from knowing anything about money.
They know this is the literal end of the age. They want us caring about everything else but Jesus, the one thing we should be concerned about right now.
Back in the '70's when there was a big "Jesus Saves" push, I remember a bumper sticker that countered rather wittily, "Jesus Saves --- Moses Invests!" :)
There is only one investment worth making. Elijah has returned, and testifies: ALL IS FATED. Therefore, ask only to accept your fate as GOD's perfect plan. By the way, I also came as Moses (and John the Baptist.) And now, as the Torah Code reveals, "Moses comes as Elijah together" as the two witnesses of Revelation; to be rejected by the world, as GOD's true prophets always are.
I used to sell high end cameras and had a few Jewish customers who taught me to not take my wallet the first time I go looking for a new item, do your research and then return to purchase. Takes away the impulse.
I was raised Christian and the only thing I was ever taught about money was to "work hard." Yeah, about that... Teach your kids about money and business not just to work for the man.
A Incredibly confusing & painful reality, not every parent wants to give to their children. I've struggled to understand money & worthiness. It effects every part of your life. Just recently I've asked G-d in prayer many times for understanding because i feel like I'm missing something. Thank you for this video ❤
My parents failed me too, I feel your pain. I hoard money now, as a result, and always feel insecure. Started to heal from it only now, in my 40s, by trying to make sense of the big picture. G-d provided us with parents like that, to grow! I'm a way better parent and would never abuse my child physically or mentally. Also left my birth country to give my child proper future, before I even got pregnant. Adversity creates growth! Trust G-d and his plan for you. Look at a bigger picture! It's all for the greater good! Sending you love and healing vibes. You are perfect, and have ability to grow! Money is just exchange for the care and value you provide. Allow people to thank you for what you've done for them. Life is good ❤
I have his book Towards a meaningful life. I purchase it back in 2010 or 2011. I went to a Jewish book store in New Jersey and ask the Rabbi inside. I'm just now finding out that I am Jewish. Outside of the Torah what would be a good book to read and he suggested Rabbi Jacobson's book. A beautiful read and such profound wisdom. I advise anyone to go get a copy. Shalom!!

When people pick fear (insecurity) takes precedence over relationships, greed takes hold. I love the concept of spiritualizing money. My dad did that but may not have taught it explicitly. I was blessed but only through the gift of discernment was I able to see it (truth is I've been massively blessed (not money) had I had eyes to see it with). Love your truth!
When a man or woman is endemically performing below expectations, sometimes it might be because of spiritual problems which need attending to through prayers of deliverance.

Somehow I had to think of the following during this very good discussion: The Most Famous Chinese Horse Proverb -> Sāi Wēng lived on the border and he raised horses for a living. One day, he lost one of his prized horses. After hearing of the misfortune, his neighbor felt sorry for him and came to comfort him. But Sāi Wēng simply asked, “How could we know it is not a good thing for me?” After a while, the lost horse returned and with another beautiful horse. The neighbor came over again and congratulated Sāi Wēng on his good fortune. But Sāi Wēng simply asked, “How could we know it is not a bad thing for me?” One day, his son went out for a ride with the new horse. He was violently thrown from the horse and broke his leg. The neighbors once again expressed their condolences to Sāi Wēng, but Sāi Wēng simply said, “How could we know it is not a good thing for me?” One year later, the Emperor’s army arrived at the village to recruit all able-bodied men to fight in the war. Because of his injury, Sāi Wēng’s son could not go off to war, and was spared from certain death.

I believe theres something valuable to learn from the conversation between God and Moses on Sinai that can be extracted here, in terms of the Spiritual nature of Money Make of Idol of Gold and make no idol of silver. Im not sure on the traditional Jewish interpretation of this idea, but on a walk yesterday I recieved a thought that what its also saying is to NOT Deify Money. Respect it. Even love it, appreciate it, and honor it like any other Divine Gift/Blessing. Ive noticed thru my own observations that its not uncommon for us (ppl) to sometimes place more value on money then whats truly valuable. But that some to Nature vs Nurture. Or a marriage of the two, to one degree or another. I dont entirely disagree with the statement that "we need money to survive". But I believe its important to establisb how it is that Money is being defined. Money having Soul is a....alien idea, but we could argue that it self is an alien form of life, to some degree. But something worth consodering is that if Money contains Soul, then to it must contain Intelligence. Divine Intelligence? I suppose that if it didnt then it wouldnt exist in the form in which it exists. Now thats an interesting idea, to think like money thinks. Or to at least try to empathize with it. There is an amazing book i came across some years back called Happy Money, by Ken Honda. Not so much "spiritual", per se. But it revolves around the Emotional Intelligences that we attach with money. Basically, money feels towards us how we feel about money. Does the act of "making" money make you happy? Are you grateful for that which you are spending/investing your money into? There is a good habit that i learned from that book "Arigato In, Arigato Out" Its about showing gratitude for the opportunity to spend/invest. Especially on those payments/investments that may not be the most fun to pay. I love paying rent. Its my favorite. I cannot wait to pay my phone bill. The excitement for paying my back allimony payments is so exciting that I feel giddy. I suppose it helps to learn to turn the sarcasm into something serious. But at the same time, by do we feel bad about a specific payment to begin with? Why do i feel so mucb resistance to this one thing? Maybe there is a message behind the feeling that i need to be mindful of. If my Intuition and Inner Voice are both telling me the same thing, maybe it is in My best interest to pay heed. At least for now. Its important that I am comfortable trusting my connection with money. Which, is an extension of God. And i know that He is not going to lead me astray. Something i learned from Genesis is that every aspect of the Divine Butterfly Effect has a role to play in the bigger picture of the universe, and in my life. Maybe a good idea is to consider Money as a sort of Life Blood of God. They say money makes the world go round, maybe the Flow of money is in someway a reflection of the flow of Gods invisible Divine Life Blood. And maybe "saving" is something akin to clogging arteries. Saving money Who are we saving money from? We save money becauze we get this idea that money will save us. But who is actually saving money from us? Money is form of energy. It likes to flow, not be stagnant. It likes to flow In and flow Out, like the tides. The flow of the moon cycles are coming to my mind. Great topic tho. Ive been curious if the Jewish perspective of money was going to be much different from my own. I believe it also depends on how we define money. If its energy, or even just a container for energy, and spirit and intelligence, I suppose that its not entirely wrong to define it as more then just 1s and 0s in a bank account. I see exchanges like this of great monetary value. Which is what tends to compell me to share my own insights in exchange. If everything is an energy exchange of some sort then its imperative for me to give back from what personally receive. To Give/Donate/Share, i dont believe always has to have a $$ attached to it. But maybe thats what makes it vakuable in the first place, that there is no expectation for compensation in return, so to speak. I dont believe its against the Law to go out of your way for a couple extra Good Karma points 😉. Especially is there is some inherent value to be extracted, to one degree or another. I loved this conversation. Thank you both. The questions were as amazing as the responses.
beginning is interesting about spiritualizing money and looking at money and income in general as gods blessing and giving Tzedakah. Money is spiritual and with it we transform the material into the spiritual

Judaism is practical. IMO this is one of the reasons the culture has lasted so long. In alignment with the rabbi's lecture; a rich person can help their community more than someone who is homeless & broke. FWIW, it's a rabbinical saying that we must act to fill our neighbor's empty belly, and not to fuss about our neighbor's beliefs.
I turned a bank branch from never reaching a single hurdle in their goals to smacking the goals outta the park!! How?! 3 times a day I personally walked up to each n every employee and complimented them on something unique and extra that they alone offer to improve the banking experience of others!!! It literally only took 10 days to turn a looser branch into the most successful branch in the entire region!! Dynamic attention works and it is a real Jewish thing. Baruch Hashem
Yes, kindness and being genuine goes a long way. People want to come to work in an uplifting environment. You get more out of people by uplifting them.
Funny how different cultures can be. In my country, from Europe, it's so natural for a woman work and sometimes be the breadwinner. I was the breadwinner for years. Now, I'm alone and still working and do not depend on anyone
Thank you for the great sharing, very good learning. Just a question, when we ask for sth in prayer, how do we know the answer whether it’s a Yes, No or Wait? Do we keep asking infinitely until our last moment? Or shall I just ask for more wisdom to understand the answer better? I kept praying for wisdom in life but sometimes I still find I don’t have enough wisdom to understand the answer/direction, whether it’s yes, no or wait., Thank you again for all your videos, I learn so much from all the sharing
If you ask for your own selfish needs, you're not going to get truly wealthy. You prayers could only be answered, if you ask $ to share with others, not hoard it.
I am the female breadwinner, my husband has several chronic diseases. I helped him start a business, he has a business partner, not me. He has written 9 books and produces festivals. And he has a great sense of accomplishment. I think he works too much.
So, why did you create a business partner, and not developed deep personal relationship? Looks like you got exactly what you wanted. You wanted him to work, he works. You should have built a marriage instead, perhaps, if you wanted a real husband. PS I'm disabled and my husband is pushing me to work anyway. I'm telling you now, when I will earn - I'll leave him immediately. I've realized, he's only with me because I'm way more educated and he hoped I'd earn 2-3 times more than him. He never loved me as a human being or mother of his child.
@@mikesamovarov4054 Lol what are you on, silly? This woman is saying she's the one wearing the pants because the man she is with ain't man enough. I think women should feel just as accomplished and satisfied being stay at home mothers as they would being doctors. If not MORE so. Being a mother is arguably the most important thing you can do and the men’s efforts at the end of the day are to support her in raising the family. To me there is something wrong if they dont feel satisfied with this. And it’s not their fault it’s society’s fault for telling them they need a fulfilling career also. But at the end of the day if you can make being a parent as fulfilling to you if not more than having a career I think we would live in a better world

Jewish doesn't mean religious. Being Jewish also means culture, ethnicity etc It's a very wide term. I'm very Jewish, but not religious. I practice Judaism as a kabbalist, no weird rituals.
@@mikesamovarov4054 Cool...
Rabbi always makes sense on every topic! ✨💚
Spiritualizing money, I like that idea. And to heal the divide between the material world and the spiritual world into a unified perspective.
I'm not Jewish either, but a rabbi helped me see the light, and I am getting a lot out of these videos
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson

Wish you and everybody here a beautiful day!!

I like that quote at 12:27 "you can plow the earth, you can't make the rain"
Pretty sure that's exactly what his people are doing, geoengineering.
Yes! The Divine uses my job to bless me the finances that I need but also to being a blessing to others...what I release into the Universe the Universe keeps blessing because I can be trusted to do the right thing by the Divine! 🙏🙏🙏

I'm not even Jewish and but this is very pleasing to listen to, like motivation.
I’m a young man from Brooklyn ….. I listen/watch all of your videos. Thank you
I love what you guys say at 25:00. I still regret and feel hurt my parents did not listen to my soul and put there fear in me. I'm a 47 year old and chasing my musical goals but I don't want to look back and turn to salt. So I try to work on myself.
I was always searching for a country actually to motivate me but slowly I found it is the Jewish community that has been my biggest inspiration. Modern, but attached to roots and culture and so good in Business too. All rounders and so brave too
I was born in 1948.
Rabbi is on fire... Videos every few hours now!😃
They know this is the literal end of the age. They want us caring about everything else but Jesus, the one thing we should be concerned about right now.
Nothing lasts forever. Nothing. All is change. Impermanence is what makes life precious and perfect.
I am not Jewish, nor religious, but I find Rabbi Simon speaks to a part of me that religion cannot find. He has become my teacher.
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson🙏🏿 Gleaned a lot from this powerful segment.
Absolutely love your wisdom, thanks for sharing and best wishes from your follower in Scotland

So verry nice to listen watching here in philippines sir with my 7years old son.
Back in the '70's when there was a big "Jesus Saves" push, I remember a bumper sticker that countered rather wittily, "Jesus Saves --- Moses Invests!" :)
😂
There is only one investment worth making. Elijah has returned, and testifies: ALL IS FATED. Therefore, ask only to accept your fate as GOD's perfect plan. For GOD knows what you need, and always gives you what you need; not necessarily what you want. (The "Lord's Prayer" is actually a present-tense prayer of AFFIRMATION, but was mistranslated as an ambiguous and future-tense prayer of supplication.) MONEY is not the root of all evil; "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." And Rabbi is correct about SHARING. I communicate through my sites.
By the way, I also came as Moses (and John the Baptist.) And now, as the Torah Code reveals, "Moses comes as Elijah together" as the two witnesses of Revelation; to be rejected by the world, as GOD's true prophets always are.
The usury system of credit and debt IS evil. Make no mistake.
Investing is a wise choice for the future
Great interview!
Again, thank you Mr Rabbi.
Great interview! Thx for the post!
I used to sell high end cameras and had a few Jewish customers who taught me to not take my wallet the first time I go looking for a new item, do your research and then return to purchase. Takes away the impulse.
Very wise words and good to hear. Thank you.
I was raised Christian and the only thing I was ever taught about money was to "work hard." Yeah, about that... Teach your kids about money and business not just to work for the man.
The words of wisdom of that man are realy meaningful.
A Incredibly confusing & painful reality, not every parent wants to give to their children. I've struggled to understand money & worthiness. It effects every part of your life. Just recently I've asked G-d in prayer many times for understanding because i feel like I'm missing something. Thank you for this video ❤
😂 you're delusional
Life is good ❤
Great interview. Many thanks for this. So much wisdom.
Shalom Rabbi, and blessings of the Lord to all.
So true everyone has something to give. Even if they don't know it.
Shalom!!
Great stuff. Thanks.
It's amazing how everything is lining up, Gold&Silver will soon break out creating a financial paradigm shift on Earth. Gold is the metal of truth or the tears of the Sun. A monolith landed (watch the movie 2001 A space Odyssey by Stanley Cube-ric) in south of Sweden a couple of years ago, marking the paradigm shift in consciousness coming soon!
Great wisdom here, thank you Rabbi.

Glad I stumbled upon your videos dear Rabbi. I am an atheist but still find so much to learn about life from you, everyday. Thanks for the treasure of knowledge you give everyday. UK primary schools mostly teach more about Islam and some Hinduism and Sikhism but rarely Jewish knowledge. How to bring about this change?
How is it possible to be as intellectual and smart as you Sir Rabbi Simon Jacobson? I am sure you have read and studied more than just the Bible and Talmud.
Thank you for sharing your knowlege.
Life experience, my dear. Habit of thinking deeply. Are you wasting your time on social media or streaming fun stuff? Those types of things makes us dumber and unwise.

Loved this interview with great questions and brilliant answers. God bless
Lovely insight Rabbi 🥰
When people pick fear (insecurity) takes precedence over relationships, greed takes hold. I love the concept of spiritualizing money. My dad did that but may not have taught it explicitly. I was blessed but only through the gift of discernment was I able to see it (truth is I've been massively blessed (not money) had I had eyes to see it with). Love your truth!
Love it
When a man or woman is endemically performing below expectations, sometimes it might be because of spiritual problems which need attending to through prayers of deliverance.
Love you Rabbi ❤

It’s hard to believe that God trusts those who he blesses with wealth when you look around the world today…
How can someone reconcile that? Most wealthy don't share as in help homeless or people who are hungry. These types look down on helpless people. I'm confused too
@@veronicaBolanos-mc4fc Some of the very wealthy don't even pay their employees a living wage or treat them fairly. Being extremely wealthy is almost like a sickness.
Wtf are you talking about ?? Tons of rich people exploit others, sexually abuse other people, live lives of decadence, etc etc. what planet are you living on homie ?
I don't believe this either.... This sounds like the "prosperity gospel". Suggestion the poor are not favored by God.... And as far as wealthy sharing? That's the Exception... This trickle down spirituality DOES NOT WORK 😢

But Sāi Wēng simply asked, “How could we know it is not a good thing for me?”
After a while, the lost horse returned and with another beautiful horse. The neighbor came over again and congratulated Sāi Wēng on his good fortune. But Sāi Wēng simply asked, “How could we know it is not a bad thing for me?”
One day, his son went out for a ride with the new horse.
Thank you Rabbi.
I don't give money. I give advice, a listening ear, plants, knowledge, I give a visual to how to live a good life. .. everything I give helps in a way money could never help
I believe theres something valuable to learn from the conversation between God and Moses on Sinai that can be extracted here, in terms of the Spiritual nature of Money
Make of Idol of Gold and make no idol of silver.
There is a good habit that i learned from that book
"Arigato In, Arigato Out"
Its about showing gratitude for the opportunity to spend/invest.
Saving money
Who are we saving money from?
Got the book!
Great conversation I like the topic 🎩📚 on wealth and how he explain it, both of them great conversation.
I will listen to.
Generalizations cut both ways-for good and bad. We all say, treat people individually not as group members.
Don't ask for abundance ask for wisdom, nor wealth but justice
beginning is interesting about spiritualizing money and looking at money and income in general as gods blessing and giving Tzedakah. Money is spiritual and with it we transform the material into the spiritual
Hey man, I got this problem. I don't really care about money, and I'm basically content living as a monk or something. Trust me, I try really hard to care about money, but I just can't make myself do it. And please believe me when I tell you that I know exactly how important money is.
Beautiful. Thank you❤
Thank you !
Shalom
Europe is a cartoon world. If you actually enjoyed it, you would have kept it your best kept secret you shallow, low cunning personality.
you are the man now
Thank you for the great sharing, very good learning. Just a question, when we ask for sth in prayer, how do we know the answer whether it’s a Yes, No or Wait? Do we keep asking infinitely until our last moment? Or shall I just ask for more wisdom to understand the answer better? I kept praying for wisdom in life but sometimes I still find I don’t have enough wisdom to understand the answer/direction, whether it’s yes, no or wait.,
Thank you again for all your videos, I learn so much from all the sharing
If you ask for your own selfish needs, you're not going to get truly wealthy. You prayers could only be answered, if you ask $ to share with others, not hoard it.
I am the female breadwinner, my husband has several chronic diseases. I helped him start a business, he has a business partner, not me. He has written 9 books and produces festivals. And he has a great sense of accomplishment. I think he works too much.
Are you happy though?
Hmm, what are you trying to tell us?
Women should aim to have a man who wins the bread even if she is smart herself, because that's the only thing a man is useful for and that's how he should prove himself to her. Women don't even need men, men need women because women are magical beings. But for some reason some women are dumb enough to believe that they aren't and get themselves involved with losers.
That would make sense for what the Torah/Old testament really is. Just like a self-help book, you can't have someone cheat and read it and explain it to you. Have to read/learn on your own. That's its true purpose.
True purpose of Torah is to awaken us to love each other. Connect. Care. Live as one creature! Do you fulfill that purpose? If not, methods of studies don't matter.
@@mikesamovarov4054 Wrong Wrong and Wrong again. That what people tell you. Its easy to control and exploit "Connect. Care. Live as one creature! " Also its not a method of study but studying it yourself that matters.

The problem with this argument, is that the Torah and the prophets warn people about accumulating wealth. And, all of the Law Givers and Prophets received their divine revolations while afflicted. Abundance on things leaves one not to rely on God.
It is a sin to leand money at an interest. But this is our whole economic sistem.
people always think paper currency is money, but unless its backed by gold its just worthless paper (or digits).
How much of the paper is Actually backed by gold today?
Fiat currency
@@lynetterowberry2 none of it. its gold backing was removed in 1971. it just took 50 years to burn off 99% of its spending power. its all but worthless. the currency is now only backed by the willingness of the american public to repay 31 trillion dollars of debt via taxes. america fell because it lost its faith and its moral values. now it will collapse because its society is not aligned with the commandments. this is the price.
@Critical Strike Forge i have very little sympathy here because without a genuine gold backing it is nothing but a false idol. and you will see so in the resulting fallout.
@Critical Strike Forge the nation itself and those who receive it for free will always believe in it. the problem comes when other nations and your own labour force can see its an empty promise.
*That it's the most important thing there is.*
There is no "religion" "I'm this, he's that." There's truth only. You either understand how it works or work for someone who does.
Wasn't it Jewish people that wrote the bible that teach people that money is a vice?
Why would they do that?
Her quote of "if we are given talent for polishing pearls but choose to bake bread, it is not a productive choice" who originally authored the quote?
Wonderful!
Who is the lady? She is talking about her podcast ...but it is not mentioned anywhere
I love listening to Rabbi Simon Jacobson, I do not always agree with his interpretation, however I know this is not fair since on UA-cam I can not challenge his argument. For example, he says "...I see people who are struggling financially but they love each other deeply..." On this argument I do not agree with Rabbi Simon Jacobson. As I understand "love" is emotion inside us and no one has the key to this only we do.
