The BEST Wrist & Grip Position for Accuracy & Stability!!!

- In this video I share two squash tips that have greatly improved my personal squash game. I talk about where we hold our racket and emphasise holding the racket higher up on the grip for better accuracy and stability. In addition to the high grip position I add that the wrist should be held upright cocked to have a consistent swing. Combining these two factors creates a very accurate and stable swing that will make you feel more stable and secure in your squash game. Surprisingly it will also improve your movement. #squash #sport #coaching #wristposition #racketpreperation #upright #stable #accuracy #tips #tricks #beginners #advanced
Yes, this is very good advice and it has helped my game (forehand) a lot since I discovered it very recently after playing for 20 years :-) Paul Coll has gone maybe even too far recently in terms of holding the racquet higher.
Yeah I agree there must definitely be a downside to holding it too far up.
Keep up with the good advice.
Thank you!
Awesome Video keep it up!!!!
God you liked it!
Thanks for the great tips. I'm going to focus on these two points.

My main question is where can I buy that T-shirt from?
Unfortunately these are from my coach which are not being sold anymore 🥲
Other plays who do this well:
- Marwan Elshorbagy
- Victor Crouin
- Eleinen
Very True! And all of these players have exceptional racket preparation in my opinion.
Another very important basic skill to acquired but most social and beginners didn't do this right. Includes long time regular social players.
I completely agree. I wish I was taught this in my junior years.
@SquashForce Actually, holding the racquet higher with cock wrist also helps very much in coaching the very beginners as most of them have weak wrist. It will make them easier to learn the drive shots
How train wrist stability?
I think just practicing to keep it cocked and upright. If you keep doing this your wrist will get stronger and get used to being in that position.
Not bad advice but the best drives shown in this video were when you were forced to turn your body towards the side wall and using your left leg to lead as opposed to using your right leg and dragging the ball into the centre of the court
Yeah unfortunately the drives with the loose wrist ended up being a bit better 😂
However the point was just to show the difference in the body stability and posture when changing the wrist position.
Completely depends on individual taste and preference. Ali Farag holds the racquet extremely low, others like Coll holds it higher. Its just practice and what works.
I agree. Many different styles out there. I just find this one do the easiest ones to adapt to and see quick results.
