I finished the entire heisei series for the first time recently, and Godzilla vs Destoroyah *crushed* me. It was so heartbreaking, and every time I hear Requiem it makes me cry. King of the Monsters, a victim of man's horrors, a father. Rest in peace.
Some of the best works of music in film history right here in my honest opinion. Also is it just me or does anyone else still tear up a bit when the Requiem plays?
I know I do fuck man it's one of the saddest pieces of music. I know Godzilla is a fictional character but damn it's legit genuinely depressing watching him slowly die in Godzilla vs Destroyah. 😥
Yea I tear up as well I grew up with the big G as my hero and I remember when I use to always watch his movies with my dvds every single day. For my 8th birthday party it was godzilla themed and to this day it’s my favorite birthday. I love this theme and the big G so much.
Requiem always makes me tear up because of the sadness I always endured every time Godzilla melted down. Such a beautiful song, such a sad scene. Rest in Peace Akira Ifukube.
Aside from not having any music from Return or Biollante, this is still fantastic! Incredible how much fantastic music Ifukube wrote for these few films!
Thank you! I didn't include any from Biollante or Return because the audio quality didn't exactly match the rest of the tracks chosen for the video, but at the same time it all worked out considering how it's all the same track and what not 😌
Godzilla bringing death and despair to those who caused his birth and torture, Saving them from total antihalation from greater threats to stop humanity from escaping their punishment.
The god to make us pay for our sins by prolonging our extinction and saving us from bigger threats that could cause it sooner just so that we can suffer more, I wish we had more Godzilla movies like that, a reminder that Godzilla isn't a hero, but rather a judge constantly deciding our fates, he decides whether we live or die, and when he decides there is no stopping him, he is inevitable, no sin goes unpunished, and no virtue goes unrewarded, so far we have sinned to much and now Godzilla is after us, punishing us in his wake, there's God in his name for a reason, is because he IS God in this universe.
@@kR-qj7rw I mean I wouldn’t say Godzilla’s theme is generic. I mean sure Godzilla has had some awesome themes that’s not the default Goji theme. But I prefer having Godzilla’s classic theme over a Walmart discount bargain bin version of his classic theme that GvK made

It was a period for Godzilla movies starting with the 1984 release of The Return of Godzilla and ending with the 1995 release of Godzilla vs Destoroyah. They were Japanese movies as were pretty much all Godzilla movies but each one did make it state-side. With some releasing a few months, and others a few years.
opening with the Godzillasaurus' Theme really does drive home that Godzilla is a victim of mankind, not the other way around.

@@azc0na Good luck if you decide to do Showa Godzilla since he has two main themes but the former was only used in Gojira and Terror of MechaGodzilla.
@@azc0na are we getting a godzilla 1984 suite? its my 3rd personal favorite theme for godzilla, being mostly a simple 4 note motif
i could imagine seeing this in the theaters when it was released and everyone clapping at the end
The way you sorted the themes of a God incarnate really gives you that feeling of rage.
Godzillasaurus’s theme is so underrated
Rip godzilla 1984-1995 this song gives me sad memories 😢🥺17:09

Yeah the song in kotm is great but just remade the generic slow march :/

What is Heisei godzilla era? Was it just for Japan?
It refers to the time period in which they were made- and the time period is named after whom was Emperor at the time.
