As usual, great chemistry with Tony, especially when you give him cause to get grumpy. And to everyone telling Sam every reason under the sun why he shouldn't get a 360 Challenge Stradale...let it go! It's HIS dream car, and if you've watched his channel long enough you would know that he knows everything you're going to tell him as far as why it might not make sense TO YOU. Let the man enjoy the process without being such a buzz kill already!

IMO Sam puts out top 3 content among auto YTubers. Great job. You deserve to be able to afford a $400k car.
Yes, but I honestly do feel that he just wouldn't shell out that kinda money on a car which he intends to drive, that too document it's journey n adventures, therefore diminishing it's resale value, even if it were to be his _forever car_ . He's not in the same wealth group as his peers such as Shmee, Archie Hamilton n Mr JWW n that's what I like about him cos most of his decisions are more relatable. He's smart enough to not spend in excess of 150k on a CS n as he himself mentioned, a smarter decision is to pick up a less optimally specced car n make it his own. His association with DK Engineering n AV Engineering can help him to customise it to a spec of his choice than pay the massive overs quoted for the _ideal_ Tifosi spec n instead put that extra money away to cater to future maintanence expenses. At least, that's what I'd do.

Your chemistry with tony has grown into a great top gear ish thing which is rare to find, it’s entertaining and quite natural, you guys would kill it if you did a off-road road trip through Africa, I mean people would line up to see tony in a Defender through Namibia 😂. Got to see the Hyper at Silverstone a couple of months ago and it was incredible. Lovely bit of kit and the guy who was the rep for the uk was very gracious in his knowledge of it all even though he knew we couldn’t afford to buy one 😄

It's a brilliant package, extremely quick and extremely low cost to maintain. Yes! Hill climbing was a primary purpose when the car was designed, you can order one without an engine so hill climb guys can go ahead and equip it with whatever power train they like. 👍

I did my first track day at Winton only a few weeks ago, in an E36 318i compact… was an absolute blast though! Super cool to see you on the same track and in the quiet town of Benalla :)
My neighbour has owned a Challenge Straddle since new in the same spec as this one but with the race seats and the sliding lexan windows. Never tire of looking at it!

oh my the challenge straddle is pricey in australia then the uk or usa but that is a rare car to buy and that elfin is sick but prefer a caterham of it
What are the gains by getting the Stadale?
Love the one seater track car. IMHO, this is what you want for a track car. It will be faster than any 'track focused' version of a road car, and affordable to maintain. Why would someone want a shiny carbon fiber Lambo or McLaren that will cost 5x, go slower, and be a constant worry in case you touch something. Which means you don't drive it like a track car. It is a poser car. These are designed to be track capable and treat body parts as consumables. Brilliant.
By the way. Are there any cars that Tony actually likes?
Spot on! Could not agree more! The Hyper Racer is a fantastic bit of kit and most definitely WAY cheaper to run on track than a supercar or even most other racecars! It is a bit of a game changer for the motorsport industry. And yes, a Porsche or a Pista will get Tony smiling, but that's about it 🤣
