We hadn't had any rain for such a looooong time and you guys brought it with you, so the "Sunshine Coasters" thank you for breaking the drought and I hope it made you feel a little more at home Sam! :)
Was that Bellthorpe Range Road by any chance?
what roads was this video filed on ?
@@lucasilvestri420 back of Beerwah into Maleny and down to Palmwoods
Please continue having driving shots like the one in the 2.7 rs
I agree, stroke of genius there.
The 73 is the correct size for today’s roads. New cars are just too damn big!
You UK guys bringing the weather wherever you go. 😅
Amazing and relaxing video.
Great to see a classic on the channel ! And what a legend this is, this 2.7RS. You’re a very lucky man, Sam
Love Porsches, but you should’ve driven some of their great V8s, cars the rest of the world never got, HO Falcons, Holdens, etc., the Bathurst cars.
Perfect dream garage actually with a 2,7 Rs, Gt3 Rs 4.0 and a 991R, which are the 3 best 911s ever, parked in front of that restaurant! Nice video even if the sun was not out….❤
I think you need a channel with just the front facing POV of these drives like from 13-14 minutes in
not sure where car youtube content would be without these videos Sam. Your best of 2023
The 2.7 RS and that burger and heaven can wait
Loved this episode. As the owner of an aging 'classic' Porsche, I have come to respect and appreciate them much more over time. The connectedness of everything compared to today's cars is night and day! ❤👊
I live in palmwoods and saw you driving out of it. We seriously hadn't had any rain for months that you would of seen water tankers doing deliveries to people who had run out. I drive past ricks garage every day and absolutely love seeing the cars that it draws. I saw about 20 Ferrari's on one occasion. Saw a maybach there today.
Bowdens make killer products.
All this from a boy who didn’t like Porsche 😂 thank goodness for the conversion, it’s saved your soul! Outstanding content as ever, thanks Sam
Hi Sam, thank you, very cool Porsches, fun to have a compare & contrast, especially on those mountain roads.
They look awesome, albeit quite challenging in stormy weather✌Video is up there with your 2023 greats ☺
RS 4.0 for me is the greatest 911 of all time. Number 1 dream car for me. A local Porsche dealer near me has one listed for 850k. Just insanity. I'll be curious if they ever come down again. Great video Sam!
It wasn’t “bored out” to a 4.0, it was a different crank and rods for a longer stroke. Pistons are still the 3.8 size.
Another great video from STG. Thank you Sam, and keep the great content coming. Two great cars that you brought to life for us.
A potentially great video of a couple of theoretically wonderful Porsches.😉😁
Great video as always Sam!
Those forest roads look amazing to drive😮
Love your POV reviews! ❤
The 2.7 RS is so tiny 😀
No, modern cars are massive! 😎
Yes it's a 2.7 litre
@@HalfdeadRider Oldschool boats from Cadillac would like to have a word with you 🤣
@@rahulsudhir666 we don't count those as cars either 😂
@@HalfdeadRider Hahaha. I love em though. Like as a casual cruiser. Would love to own an oldschool Cadillac Deville n an Impala SS some day n turn em into lowriders. Them havin 6-7 litre engines yet barely makin 250bhp is hilarious too.
The RS 4.0, my dream car, in my dream spec, awesome.
Nice - Yup - remember you driving my 73 RS in Monaco - :) Good you remembered !!
Nice to see you bright the weather with you
Anyone else notice the drips inside the 4.0 at 10:30?
They are on the outside, the wind pushing them along the window
@@johnnyboy1586 It’s not, look at the top left. You can see that the camera is inside the car.
@@JOPOV camera on the inside? I thought we were talking about water drops ,and as he has the window is closed the water wouldn't be running along the glass like it is🤔
@@johnnyboy1586 I’m saying the camera is inside the car. Therefore the water rolling across the window wouldn’t be visible.
@@JOPOV of course it would! It's transparent glass,so your saying you can't see beaded water drops on the outside glass when your seated inside the car?also you can see the same thing happening on the rear window
You need a classic 911 Sam! Suits you.
Awesome video. Two awesome 911s I take the old one.
Bro I live for this content. Watching you for years 😂
Great video as always sir
Bored out? Not so sure about that. Different crank shaft, dear Sam. Other than that, great video.
haha we do have oatmilk in birmingham btw! The 4.0 mezger is just a beast
997 RS 4.0 is my lottery car. It’s just peak 3RS.
Iconic machines 👌
Thanks for no cringey slowmo coffee shots this time
It’s still ☔️ on the Sunshine Coast.
Welcome to 🇦🇺.
I’ll have the 2.7 RS.
997 is the greatest modern 911 and last true Porsche 911
Just a casual purple M3 Touring parked next to Porsche's
I love Porsche and your videos are always entertaining, but why would you have the driver's window down on the 2.7 RS in the pouring rain? Killing me Sam! My OCD can't deal 😂
Iconic machines
What have you done with Tony....maybe he just couldn't bear classic Porsche's ?
It would be an original 70's 911 S/T for me.
The older car didn’t smoke on startup and the new one did 😂
That's the normal Metzger 997 life right there. :)
Another awesome video! Well done, just a minor comment, the numberplate on the 4.0 should read ‘der’ not ‘das’ but hey first world problems I suppose 😊.
I think you need an RS as well, Sam !
Thanks Sam
Ask @MrJww to drive his in the UK, when the weather is better. Whould be great to watch you both together!
Australia just wanted to make you feel at home
The 997 is the best generation of the 911
Both great 👍 car 🚗. Thank you for sharing 👍🤩🤩🤩
17:00 beardmeatsfood would inhale that thing in under 5 minutes
10:36 is that water dripping inside the car from the windshield?
930 Turbo is the ultimate for me
SUNDAY MORNINGS WITH SAM 💪
Love the 2.7 RS it's everything Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed promised it was!
So it is obviously a (‘73) ‘72RS Touring (sunroof reveals) and not the Group 4 homologation version which is called usually the “lightweight” and weights about 100 kg less than the Touring version. Jerry Seinfeld drives in his coffee vide 18:15 o the lightweight version. The lightweight has aluminium doors, less sound insulation, no rear seats, glassfiber bumpers etc and is the first production Porsche to have different size front and rear wheels. Already the original aluminium doors cost honey today. The first 500 homologation cars weighted under 900 kg and the management feared that nobody would want them. Yet they were sold in the first week and another batch of 500 Touring versions were comissioned and even them got sold quickly and they made another batch of 500 Tourings. They produced altogether about 1600 RSesses which meant it could be homologated eventually to Group 3.
I believe the ‘72 RS Touring version is about 500 000-750 000 euros while the lightweight is well above a million - if you can find one for sale. Jenson Button’s black car was also a Touring. I think that was the car STG drove in Monaco.
Later, after you’ve purchased the “classic car” you’ve been banging on about, you’ll say “I briefly mentioned and hinted this car a couple of times in my previous videos”.
I’ll wait for that moment.
Thanks for the test sorry for YOUR test of both of wonderful Porsches!!!
RS are best versions for Stuttgart products
Everyday or daily driveable cars of course they are😊
The new erea of sportcars are expectionnal on motors gearboxes and weight!!!
Sorry my heart of carlover stops on 2000 years😅
I think you posted that burger picture on your instagram
The 2.7 rs and the carrera gt are the only porsches id own. Ive driven every porsche
4L wow
2.7RS for me please.
"They" say the 911R is fabulous...better than all the rest.
Yes the 2.7RS is Incredible. Top 5 Porsche ever.
As for the 4.0, lovely, but is that the one that was pranged and re skinned? Can only be 1 or 2 white ones in Oz? Sold for A$1M.
STG + Neun Elf = Click
I have a 77 3.0 Carrera which drives better than the 2.7 RS and yes I've driven both
Hold it right there @seenthroughglass you can’t get away with deriding the UK’s coffee scene like that. Living in the Midlands you can get whatever milk you want at the coffee shops I go to. Just stay independent with your coffee choice. If I run into you I’ll willingly buy you a flat white, even if it means milking the local hedgehog to satisfy your tastes 😊
I work in Birmingham, cafe culture galore, all I ever order is flat white with oat milk, they even give you different choices of oat milk!
I thought this place was full of sleepy old people? 😂😂
Theres is no better air cooled 911 than the 2.7 rs , it has soul and that mechanical sound ,, the later ones are great , fast , etc etc but lack the soul
4.0 for me
Oat milk flat white. Just order a coffee with milk.
Erm… “Not that dynamic” is not really a far comparison when mentioning a Daytona or a Countach. Go and drive a Lotus Elan Sprint which has far greater chassis technology, handling, engine performance and also looks (in my opinion on that last one) compared to a 2.7 RS or indeed any early 911. It’s not all about Porsches everybody…. Great video still as always though!
Sam Alexanders prestige have just got in a Alpina b3 2021 estate
Perfect daily something different
Or please review it !
Where was Tony 😢
Im sure this is the type of content Jerry Seinfeld looks out for 👀
Sunroof? Is this a real 2.7 RS?
What a tragedy to pilot some of the greatest cars on the planet doing 40mph in torrential rain on track rubber. I seldom bother take my RS Porsche out on dry public roads as there’s no point in driving them at the speed limits we have around here. Trailer it to the track and then hammer time is all what’s it about. You have to revisit the 4-liter and do a proper drive with it Sam!
Why do you call it the "gt3 rs four point oh" when pretty much everyone else in the world says "gt3 rs four litre"
🤩🤩
The 4.0 wasn't bored out from a 3.8 at all, please inform yourself if you're going to be a reputable motoring journalist. They used an RSR crank to increase the stroke from 76.5mm to 80.4mm, not the bore.
big shot Porsche professor making corrections lol
@@brianhimmelman420 you're welcome
Maybe youtube is shadow banning you because of the name. Stg is some kind of automatic rifle or something like that. You have very few subs.
Stop moaning about the weather, driving is an outdoors sport 😂
The seats in the 4.0 are so ugly haha.
Other than that, masterpieces these 2 cars
Everybody seems to be in awe of the rev line at 9k, but there are also much larger engines that get there as well: F12, 812 sf for example, Lamborghini does not sound bad either, and people seem to take those for granted. I love the touring, but don’t get the fascination with the 9k red line. For sure a GT3 would destroy an 812 on a track, but this is due to the chasis, not rev line limiter… Manual box is another story, more enjoyable to drive I suppose, but likely less performance.
You went above 40mph last time you drove one: ua-cam.com/video/QpoeUgTw4i8/v-deo.html
Driven a 2.7 and the 997 4.0 RS, Id still have a 991.1 RS instead. The 2.7 doesnt stop, turn, change gear well....never go back further than a 964 RS ...the best. 997 overpriced and well ok but not massively better than the GT3 997....meh..
Do people think the 2.7RS is better than the 3.0RS?
They only built around 40 3.0RS‘s, so it‘s not really a realistic comparison
Maybe controversial, but the best 911 isn’t even made by Porsche 😬
I just can’t get past the seats in the 4.0. They look atrocious
Countach - piece of crap? How dare you. 😮
Have you driven a properly sorted example?
Video ruined by weather unfortunately, cant really comment on these cars in hammering rain
The ultimate 911 is a Cayman gt4 RS :) seriously though it’s the GT3 touring
People make fun of NASCARs not running in the rain. But here you have a street car doing almost the same. You get what I mean.
Nope. The 997 GT3 RS 4L is way over blown, fun car but the 997 chassis just wasn't that good. The 4l NA thats been present in GT cars since the 991.2 GT3 was released is far better in every way. Peak Porsche realistically is the 991.2 GT3 touring and the 991.2 GT3 RS. The 992 GT3 and 992 GT3 RS really haven't added much.
every video u post ur nonsense fool
Whoever thought "snow job" was a good idea should have "no job". Cringefest
He designed work clothes for us as well: ua-cam.com/video/qCA8nHRv2jk/v-deo.html
Wanted to see how the F you were gonna eat that burger mate lol.
996 3RS has entered the chat..
