    It’s amazing how it’s head remains still while its body follows the prey. Also how it uses its tail as a kind of parachute to slow down in a sense

      Track sprinters tend to do that too. The head thing, not the tail.

As a side story, the meat on the string ended up by the feet of a trainer, so the cheetah darted into the trainer's legs (she was squatting) popped out with meat in mouth and keeper unharmed, than started cuddling with the trainer.

      Not that the Cheetah has much of a choice, but who are you to say the Cheetah would be better off in the wild? "Living life in the wild" is hell for anyone that knows better, but the Cheetah is none the wiser.
      Secondly, you can't "enslave" an animal, at least not in the sense a human can be enslaved. For example, you can't threaten an animal with death to make them behave. That being said you can treat an animal cruelly like you would a slave, but I do not see that kind of treatment in this video.

      Exactly, that’s insane! Especially when you consider that the nfl players are nowhere near average humans lol.

    Accelleration like sport cars - 100 km/h in 3 sec. (even not on asphalt!), max speed 120 km/h and cheetahs can stop without ABS on much shorter distance :)

    I’ve been to the cheetah run at the Wild Animal Park. The squeaky toy is being powered by an SUV battery. The whistle at the end is like a clicker telling a dog he’s done great, reward is coming. The cheetah gets a frozen fish/meat/blood treat. When I watched this on one occasion the cheetah ran faster than the lure, passing it up and still going!

    I have yet to find a single video where the cheeta's speed is shown from the side without lots of cuts of the camera and with enough background info to actually get a sense of how fast it's going (and not in slow motion). With everything on youtube, one would think a simple thing like that would be out there. This one comes close, but the run was too short, and it didn't show it from one angle long enough. I don't think the cheetah even had the room to get up to speed. I could be wrong about that last.

    100 yards in 5.7 secs is just a bit over 35 mph, though, and not almost 7. She would have had to complete the run in half the time to hit 70 mph.

    How did the cheetah decelerate at such short distance? Amazing brakes they have. Can really rival vehicles braking power

    • @ilmaio
      @ilmaio 10 місяців тому +1

      Small mass matters. With a heavier vehicle, forget to stop from 80 kmh in 4 or 5 metres. It's plain impossible even on the tarmac, with slick tires. On the grass, it would be a comedy even trying to stop over twice that space, no way.
