- Israeli journalist Gideon Levy says unless real lessons are learnt from October 7 about its treatment of Palestinians, Israel is destined to repeat the same bloody mistakes in Gaza and arrive no closer to a solution.
He says beyond its 'hollow slogans' and tough rhetoric, there is a lot of doubt about the army's real capabilities on the ground.

What peace you’re talking about? The Palestinians were offered peace agreement with Israel so many times (1995, 2000, and 2008) they refused time after time. Palestinians don’t want any peace. They want ALL the Jews out of Israel.

One of the few Israeli's who has any sense. Clear headed common sense. Jewish people all over the world are joining protests because they are not in the bubble that Israel has created for itself. Gideon Levy has seen the madness yet you still get people blindly supporting genocide and using the Oct 7th attacks to justify their support showing total ignorance of the historic background. Levy is brave and is on the side of truth and justice.

Should Palestinians agree to a 2 state solution. What would that say about the Zionists and the state of Israel? They would legitimize both. I heard a news item today that horrified me. In one ward of a hospital in Gaza are babies who had been removed from their mothers who died because of the Israeli bombing. Some are struggling to live, and the situation is so precarious because warnings have been given to hospitals to evacuate. Please get your facts right. Palestinians accept Israel as a state. But it is Israel that does NOT accept Palestine as a state. They have thrown UN Resolution 242 recognizing a 2-state solution, passed in 1949, out the window. Israel's policy has always been (1) ethnic cleaning and total expulsion of all Palestinians, and (2) building a Greater Israel, which includes taking over all of Palestine and parts of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.
