From Jewel"s debut album from 1995, " Pieces of You", this hauntingly beautiful ballad, with such emotional lyrics and powerful melody, delivers brilliantly. Apparently about a true relationship, where the commitment was more one sided, this tune remained at the top of the charts for several weeks. The beautiful strings and piano are the perfect accompaniment. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Catherine. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Beautiful song! You should check out her and Kelly Clarkson singing this song on Kelly's show a couple tears back. I couldn't believe how good Jewel still sounds all these years later
She was 90s pop/folk...she was so fresh. She can yodel and I believe she was from Alaska but I could be wrong. I've always loved her voice and heart she puts in her songs. Thanks for the reaction harri! ❤❤
I think this video is kinda creepy but the song is gorgeous. She was such a big deal for awhile in the late 90’s. Very talented! Nice choice and reaction. Thanks Harri and Catherine 🌺✌️
Very interesting singer, and person and what a voice. At age fifteen, she received a partial scholarship at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where she studied operatic voice.
To me, this and Who Will Save Your Soul are her best work. Beautiful voice, but I haven't cared for her work since she went full tilt country around 2008.
Recommend many good songs from singer/songwriter Jewel: 1. Hands 2. Pieces of you 3. Who will save your soul 4. Goodbye Alice in Wonderland 5. Stephenville, Texas 6. Intuition
I think this video was after her best. She was foolish, she poured her soul out at a very young age. It was beyond beautiful, but unsustainable and I get it you can't rip your heart out every performance by the time she hit MTV she was hiding. She was too real to exist for long. I love her early work but if she had kept it up she would be in the 27 club. I'm glad she isn't and that she found love and has offspring, but damn those first songs touched me in a way that no music has since.
I'd consider Jewel's iconic music and roots to be folk, but she has recorded country, pop, and blues albums. Actually her pop album, despite having a huge hit with Intuition, turned a lot of people against her for being a "sellout" instead of just recognizing an artist might want to explore different genres.
Beautiful song. She has a very unique voice..no one else quite like her.
yes nothing quite.. but i kinda get a weird resemblance when i hear shakira.... but i love Jewel, reminds me of the good ole days

Her origin is yodeling, which has given her incredible range and texture.

Her "Ave Maria" from A Holiday Collection is one of the best.
There was actually a 3rd verse they cut out for radio play reasons. It deepened the meaning

Not sure she fits a genre but anything she sings is angelic!!!
Please react to her song "You Were Meant For Me"

Adrian. probably the saddest song I've ever heard.

The album version of this song is so much better.
You should review the MTV live version!
