Rarely did we ever see Robin laugh at the top of his lungs when someone else cracked a joke. Craig had him cracking up several times. That was incredible to watch and remember. I miss Robin so much.
IKR? The only comedians I know could make Robin laugh were Craig & Johnathan Winters. I didnt get to see much of him on cable TV in the 80s & 90s, so now I can only wonder what he was like (or would be like) around Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder, or John Byner. Maybe even the greats a generation older than him. For example, Telly Savalas was quick witted, but he never showed that side of himself on talk shows. Then theres Carl Reiner, Sid Caesar, & Mel Brooks. Mel Brooks & Robin Williams HAD to be a riot, if that ever happened :D
@@OhGrowUpPodcast He would laugh and have fun. But he was really having a ball on this episode. I didn’t mean to sound like he didn’t engage other people on other shows.
Finally, a talk show host that managed to have Robin Williams in fits of laughter. Just wonderful. How to fit as much comedy and wit into 16mins.. this is how you do it.
Robin was pure comedic genius- outrageously funny in real time with his unique and bizarre style - his accents were spot on but above all else his brilliant mind will never be duplicated - such a great loss that has left an indelible mark on our lives
These two should have done a comic special together. Just in the few minutes they’re together they play so well off each other. Robin Williams you are missed.
It was hilarious and also refreshing back in those days to see a talk show host riff with a legendary comedian instead of just trying to move the "promotion" along and stick to schedule like these days. These 2 were great together.
It just doesn't seem real that he's gone. He was one of the greatest comedy minds of all time. Brilliant, kind, sincere, manic and filled with a powerful energy that will always be timeless. I truly miss Robin Williams and always will. This was an awesome interview. Both great comedians playing off each other and having a blast. I love that RW was one of the only people I've seen to make Craig nervous by his offensive jokes (HILLARIOUS)!
Wow - what a fantastic segment with 2 brilliant comedic minds. Anyone who can keep up with Robin gets a freakin' giant Gold Star..! It's still surreal that Robin is gone.
Thanks you tube algorithm. That was 16 mins of excellent impromptu comedy and I never really knew Craig Ferguson but he hung in there like a mirror w the genius of Robin. New respect for Craig
Every few months l have to go on a Robin Williams night at the movies. The man was incredible, talented beyond the pale and seemed like just a nice man to be around. RIP Robin, your sorely missed but forever loved.
Wow what a treat to see them both. They are super funny and pretty cool how they make us laugh but they are entertaining themselves as well. Robin was laughing a lot as well as Craig.
If ever you want to see how great and genuingly funnt Craig is, watch this interview. Not just being able to keep up with Robin but being able to genuingly make him laugh, is a big thing.
I met Robin Williams in 1996 and served his table with James Taylor and Carly Simon. He came down to the kitchen and cracked jokes on the expediter microphone for 20 minutes during service to give JT and Carly private time. The jokes and the people they touched were much more important than champagne & caviar to Robin, in my Chefs opinion.
My brother met Robin Williams briefly when he was living in San Francisco. Small talk, thank you very much, etc. I met the man when he walked into a store I worked in Downtown San Diego. The biggest regret I had was being so nervous -- this was one of the most polite human beings on earth when he shopped in our store. Everything he saw, he thanked us twice for bringing to him. ...It's not every day that the King of the Moon walks in your workplace. If I had a brain, I would have mentioned that he "met two members of my family now" which seems like unusual odds. And might have said, "Rey Di Tutto! May I call you Ray?" Rest in Peace.
Robin looks like he had the time of his life. Interesting fact. Robin Williams and Christopher Reeves were best friends for life. Rest in Peace Robin Williams and Christopher Reeves. Gone, but never forgotten.
This is the first time I've ever heard Robin Williams laugh for real, and I've seen most of his stuff. I miss him. He was one of my all time favorites.
there is no competition or comparison of Robin Williams to Craig Ferguson william connolly or anyone who is famous or a celebrity. he is who he is and what he is.
We will never be graced with that special kind of humor, ... Julian trained ....was gonna be nuclear physics type scientist ... well read man....has opinions on everything glad they are so hillarious!!...even better in person. great patriot supported USO ,many tours...did it often. 👍
How sad it was that despite his presentation of being a naturally funny guy... And he was... That he secretly suffered from depression and eventually took his own life.. Such a sad loss to us all

Me too. I miss both of them. xo
Really? What I loved about Robin is he didn’t hog the spot light. He’d go on shows and laugh his ass off when the other person was on

Usually interviewers let Robin Williams do all the work because he is soo good but in this Craig and him were really funny together.
😮
Agree with you because they both are very intelligent and know what are they talking about 😂
10-4
Craig was the only talk show host who could keep up with him.
It's rare that you had an interviewer that can do back and forth with Williams. These appearances alone would make Ferguson worth watching.
Robin was pure comedic genius- outrageously funny in real time with his unique and bizarre style - his accents were spot on but above all else his brilliant mind will never be duplicated - such a great loss that has left an indelible mark on our lives
On Mork & Mindy he got to work with his hero Jonathon Winters.
I never laugh harder than when I watch these two together. They're a force to be reckoned with.
These two should have done a comic special together. Just in the few minutes they’re together they play so well off each other. Robin Williams you are missed.
Nobody's mind will ever work like robin Williams
Totally! You would think, wow this guy is on some crazy drugs, yet he's actually sober
He used to be on drugs and alcohol but he still kept his crazily quick wits.
OMG! these two together !!! Ive never seen a host who was able to keep up with Robin!
Craig Ferguson - *RESPECT*
wow, it is impressive to see Craig go head to head with Robin. He is the only one that can keep ahead of him. Craig has impressive intellect!!
I'm really impressed with how well Craig kept up with him. Few people can venture into his league haha
Craig's sharp and was a standup himself. I'm not surprised.
u mean the league of infantile cheap humour ? yea, its not easy.

It is our greatest loss that Robin never had his own talk show. That would have been fabulous. Miss you Mr. Williams.

Craig, you’re kinda good. You held your own with a genuine legend. There are about ten people like you, out of seven ish billion.

I love how Craig brought up Mythbusters on the same episode there was a Geoff countdown. Grant Imahara (R.I.P.) designed Geoff.
Got to see Robin live in the early 80s. He went continuously for about 2 hours! My rib muscles were aching from non-stop laughing.

"Is that some sort of Catholic?"

It's weird how Craig's popularity blew up the whole tonight show debacle. Not his fault he's HILARIOUS.
I love that Craig was pushing the special, but mainly they were just hanging out and riffing
