my favorite line is "We *lost* ourselves in it." It's proof that some of the precursor race that became the witness feel regretful and disillusioned regarding their choices, and still somehow have a spec of individuality inside of that raging storm of consciousness

The voices for this race were SO good - they were so eerie and non-human, yet conveyed emotions we could understand - I love the one that says "WE WONT SUFFER ONE MORE DAY WITH YOU!" or the others that became so guilty, but they can't face that guilt in the dark and say "We are either stay in the dark, bound and existing as one, or we can finally be free, free in the light, repentant and many"
