It was the best experience ever seeing these guys perform as a teen and the sense of community. Algernon Cadwallader were the openers and I took a bus across town because I wasn't missing that show for the world.
Surprisingly catchy... well-crafted, and just edgy enough to avoid the mainstream. I like leadman's voice. I can tell he actually (at least somewhat) has chops, but the hoarse sound adds a special something that sounds awful when you try to imitate it. A candy-sweet guitar solo towards the end = a good job, guys. LOVE IT
Iceage, anti-flag, NOFX (obvious, but important), operation ivy, against me, i dunno if kyuss counts but they're a good band that's p hardcore. their are also a fuckton of local-scene type bands that I don't know if you can get albums of, but if you look up obsure punk shows or whatever on youtube you could probably find them.
