I'm Japanese, the workers who cooks school lunches are called "school lunch teachers" by the children. They are respected by the children. School lunch teachers are proud to prepare meals for their children, and children respect those who make school lunches as "teachers." They have a good relationship.😊

I just love how the teachers have the students utmost respect and attention, and in return the students can still behave and act like children is just so heartwarming. Honestly, that's Utopian-level education right there.
I was in Japan decades ago. And I have a long time Japanese housemate. I was so impressed with how formal the relationship was between teachers and their students. The smallest kids, even in the US, can be eager and want to feel important. Which is why giving them little jobs to do at home and at school, is a very healthy thing for them. Unfortunately, here in the US, there are too many neglectful parents. The ones who are addicts, who are maybe just to distracted by having to work so much, leaves children too rudderless and schools burdened with doing what parents should be doing. I can't believe that our US society has so many immature, undisciplined ADULTS. It seems our society takes as much pride in being public slobs, as you'd think someone would be proud they take care of public spaces we all have to share.
@@regand7830 I taught high school in $27,500 per student Blue Cities that were mad houses with hall monitors wearing body armor and students cage-fighting in a circle of desks. When I tell that story to US teachers, I can make them cry. When I tell that story to US students, they say, 'You were probably a crappy teacher (in US)'. When I tell that to my SEAsia students, they say 'How are you teacher? I hope you are OK!" Just a different culture. US students will be barking like dogs soon, standing on street corners, because all the schools will be taken over to house the evicted Workers.

It is wonderful! It teaches them to work together and be responsible from a young age which translates to mindful and considerate adults which is why Japan is known for it cleanliness and politeness. How I wish we had the same type of education system in my country! If someone would even dare suggest that school kids clean the classroom or carry and serve food etc I can just hear the angry (ignorant) parents screaming that their kids are being forced into labour, instead of realising that this is how you are supposed to teach kids do that they become good adults. I hate that my country is so behind when it comes to things like these 😩

I'm very proud of this culture, Japanese people are very respectful to others and themselves . I think the rest of the world we have to learn of your culture. Congrats from Mexico.
I have a hugh respect for the Japanese culture - on how you teach your kids to be independent, self discipline & respect for any kind of small chores at such little ages - at schools or at home
Oh my god, those kids when serving others food are so cuteeeeee. I had a bad days recently, so my mood was seriously down. I came to this video from UA-cam's recommendation, and it made my day. Thanks. Lots of love from Malaysia
Wow! The children are so organized and disciplined while eating. Focused on the food, not misbehaving or talking and very well mannered! Cleaning up after themselves after the meal which was prepared with love. Helping with everything except the cooking part. Better behaved than many adults. Awesome!
My daughters preschool did this (free preschool for low income fams) and I’d go every once in a while to sit and have lunch or breakfast with them it was so sweet watching them help and eat then all clean up together…also, months went by and I had no idea my 4 year old knew how to peel her own hard boiled egg 😂 I was like uhhhh so cool!
The Japanese are such polite and respectful people because they have an excellent school in education in place. The rest of the world have much to learn from them. Bravo to them.
Many countries had this kind of respect 50-70 years ago in the west too if you look into it. Now they promote degeneracy in order to make better slaves
I've been an educator for thirty six years in fairly affluent school districts (in the US) that have lauded the quality and nutritional value of their meal programming. After watching this I'm embarrassed. We whine about how poorly our kids are doing all the while feeding them processed crap in run down buildings. The next person that tells me, "It's all about the kids." is going to get sent a link to this vid. Thank you.
You should see French children's lunches! They are unbelievably good. They're also treated as a lesson in nutrition. I saw a video where a chef from a French school was being shown what American children get fed and he actually cried for the children.
While my city is considered dangerous in California, our school district took our nutrition seriously and decided to create a kitchen for all the schools. I was very much in love with going to school because they had a salad bar and hot food. We also had several mini counters with snacks all over the school. We were soo over the packaged pizzas and mystery meats. Edit: just wanted to add a shoutout to our lunch teachers!!! They are amazing and we always thought of them as our second mothers. We recognize the hard work they do, from the mornings to afterschool
Our fat kids will not eat healthy foods unfortunately. They are used to the junk that's fed to them both at home and at school. Many of them would go hungry rather than eating their vegetables from their school lunch. Healthy eating habits begin at home and its a cultural issue.
@M A I have mixed opinions about home schooling but I think it all depends on the parent, doesn't homeschooling affect the chances the kid gets into college/uni?
In my senior year of high school (I live in the U.S.) I took nutrition and wealth class which was my favorite because the teacher (may she rest in peace) taught us how to actually cook in the economics kitchen once a week with different fresh foods 😔
watching this made me realize just how shitty the American education system is. I might have actually enjoyed my time in elementary school if it was anything like this.
Not only america its on Turkey to we dont have a cafetaria if you dont go some private expensive school ve have cateen but its was still to ecpensive for child to buy something
so...the education system is bad because the food is bad...i think you have your priorities screwed up. also the education system is flawed but at least we get education so stop being a first world problems baby
@@notavailableatthemoment7623 It's not bad because the food is bad, it's bad because one of its parts (cafeteria service) is completely lacking. As demonstrated in the video, this school, and I assume many others, have a cafeteria format that has been very thoughtfully implemented where children: Eat nutritional, balanced, and healthy meals Are instructed to participate in the dining preparation (bringing plates, trays, bowls, etc.) Practice food conservation Clean up before the meal and after having finished These things are essentially absent in any public school in America, resulting in children not having a proper education on how dining should be done. This does not necessarily mean that cafeteria service is the number one issue plaguing the education system, but there isn't a good reason why children should be denied the opportunity to practice good habits as shown. If anything, this video is a great demonstration of how things should be for all school systems.

Poor Michele Obama tried to improve fitness and school food standards, even planted a garden with kids and used it to teach kids about growing good food, which was then ripped out by Trump. The US is pathetic. Most food is brought in frozen by contractors and just served by lunch attendants who get no respect. Some schools have tried to adopt new standards, but many haven't.
This is insane to me. All the kids are getting involved in so many things, I love it. I really wish we had this over here in the U.S. The kids aren’t being lazy, everyone is involved, no one seems bored, they all seem very responsible and respectful, and most importantly, they’re being kids and they seem like they’re having fun. It truly is amazing.

I am Japanese. This environment is guaranteed to children across the country, not only in developed cities, but wherever they are born. And the school lunch was very delicious!!
Am 45 Japanese. Many of kids loves lunch as a best class of the day. I used to love those nearly 40years a go and that was already exactly the same way as they showing. At 10:30 We began to smell cooking of lunch and made us super starved during the class then eventually the lunch time were came. Can you imagine how good the lunch was and how much we appreciate to Kyushoku no Sensei and how much we got sleepy at afternoon classes?
@@ekonugrahaputra2317 I’m also a middle age Japanese, now American. I think this school lunch program started sometime during 60s-70s. Each prefecture has a different lunch program but Elementary school and Middle school mostly provide lunch to all students across Japan. Each city hires a team of nutritionists who create monthly menu schedule for each day. I believe my parents were paying about JPY 3000 ($30) a month for me. That’s about 30+years ago. Then high school is optional (non-mandatory) education in Japan so we had to bring our own lunch food, usually that’s bento box made by mom. By the time kids turn 3rd grade, they can tell what food they will get at lunch from the smell coming out of school kitchen. Weekly team of lunch server kids have to go pick up entire classmates food and serve in each classroom. The rest of classmates line up and carry own food to their desk. Teacher eats the same food in classroom with all students. No picky eaters are allowed to leave any food. They all have to finish every dish because the perfect nutrition balance is built in each meal. I remember a teacher in my elementary school was so strict. She would not allow a picky eater kid who would not finish some vegetables to go home until she eats it. 😂
I've never seen any hi end restaurant test for temperature that many times....this is discipline, ownership, responsibility, food safety and quality to the max. Good for Japan to have maintained such a hi level culture. And look at just how clean that kitchen is. Impressive.
If a restaurant fucks up with temperatures and makes bad food, they've made 1 person sick. If a catering kitchen fucks up with temperatures and makes bad food, they've made 200 kids sick. That is why catering kitchens are meticulous in quality control, compared to restaurants.
I would say these are cooked to the same standards as hospital food as children are considered 'vulnerable', immune system-wise. Some food-borne bacteria can also cause chronic illness, the school wouldn't want to have that tarnishing their reputation.
I love how the children are responsible with bringing food into the classroom. This teaches them responsibilities, empowerment, respect and ownership. It's more than lunch. It's life education about collaboration and respect.
The respect that is shown here by the teachers & the students is wonderful to see. I can see the respect & the love that is put into making the school lunches for the children. I absolutely enjoyed watching this video. I love the Japanese culture & its people. There is such respect & honor!
Hi Diana . Me too. I love the great respect & care & love that the Japanese Teachers Show & Give & Teach Their Students. And Vice Versa. The respect & love & care that the Students have towards their Teachers & Elders. The Cafeteria Cooks & Employees Have Great Respect & Care & Do A Great Job Preparing Fresh Foods & Lunches To The School & Students & Teachers & Staff. I love the Japanese Culture too. The problem isn't the temperature, the problem is the quality of the food, the calories and the freshness. Also, this is a lunch, not a snack, because classes in Japan can last until the afternoon.
I know in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, a school has a canteen which caters a variety of food. In Singapore, a canteen usually has 10 stalls and at least two have to cater halal food (for Muslims). School ends at 1pm to 2pm (Friday at 12:30 pm for Muslims to attend mosque) so students don't lunch in the school. The canteen is meant for mid-morning break.
Instead of watching anime and these only bright side videos, Teach in a japanese school... Watch the light go out in a japanese sixth grader once they transition into junior high school. There are archaic practices in Japanese school system that hold back minorities, extrovert oriented children, girls, and children with disabilities. Take the chance to talk to teaching faculty and how overworked they are...
Japanese Students have more responsibilities maintaining school properties which decreases real estate fees schools have to invest in unlike any other European or North American schools that pay heavy coin for real estate. The students are disciplined and rewarded for this. its as if the school is their second home. Would north American or European students be comfortable to be on duty cleaning toilets and classrooms regularly to get his kind of service? I'm afraid not. A valuable asset we can learn from Japan, not just with the service they provide to their students.

It is said to protect students from falling debris and drowning. The backpack can be put over head when earthquake occurs. Also, the backpack floats as a lifesaver.
Because we are taught that politeness goes both ways. If you are polite to me, I must be polite to you and vice-versa. Being rude to others for no reason means the parents have failed to raise their child properly.
This is what creates a great society. Trying to change people once they’re already grown with bad habits doesn’t work nearly as well as raising them right from the start.
Exactly right, @Ernst Achildiyev . We have all but destroyed the culture of order and respect for authority in America that COULD have made this sort of thing possible for our children, and allowed them to enjoy The Benefit. Every time a group of people (especially young people) sits in a movie and watches the hero thumb his nose at Parents, or the School Principal, or Law Enforcement Officers, a little bit of that Benefit is destroyed. The same is true of TV. Popular music has been a HUGE carrier of the virus that has destroyed the benefit for the current generation, and for generations that will come after.
Well, it depends on what you define as a "great society." Japanese culture (and Asian culture in general) values group conformity and obedience. Japanese schools are notorious for a deeply ingrained bullying culture, where those who stand out get ostracized by the other students. The schools themselves officially enforce conformity., forcing Japanese children with naturally brown hair to dye it black (for example). "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down" is a well-known saying.

Yes, in Japan, when they make lunch for the children, they think, "what delicious and healthful food can we prepare for our Japanese children today?" In the US they think, "What is the cheapest garbage we can serve so we can get the biggest profit? After all, they're not my kids."

И подавали: салат; 1-е блюдо - суп; 2-е блюдо - пюре с котлетой, или же с курицей, или же с рыбой, иногда вместо пюре - макароны с сыром или же "по-флотски", плюс чай или же компот.

Canada (Quebec), the french province is probably shittier than America’s.
so...the education system is bad because the food is bad...i think you have your priorities screwed up. also the education system is flawed but at least we get education so stop being a first world problems baby
@@notavailableatthemoment7623 It's not bad because the food is bad, it's bad because one of its parts (cafeteria service) is completely lacking. As demonstrated in the video, this school, and I assume many others, have a cafeteria format that has been very thoughtfully implemented where children:
Eat nutritional, balanced, and healthy meals
Are instructed to participate in the dining preparation (bringing plates, trays, bowls, etc.)
Practice food conservation
Clean up before the meal and after having finished
These things are essentially absent in any public school in America, resulting in children not having a proper education on how dining should be done. This does not necessarily mean that cafeteria service is the number one issue plaguing the education system, but there isn't a good reason why children should be denied the opportunity to practice good habits as shown.
If anything, this video is a great demonstration of how things should be for all school systems.

I would say these are cooked to the same standards as hospital food as children are considered 'vulnerable', immune system-wise. Some food-borne bacteria can also cause chronic illness, the school wouldn't want to have that tarnishing their reputation.

I know in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, a school has a canteen which caters a variety of food. In Singapore, a canteen usually has 10 stalls and at least two have to cater halal food (for Muslims).

Indeed!
@@AmosPressley Americans have been disrespectful of authority since 1776.
It called randoseru from the Dutch word ransel. Ussualy, it made of genuine leather so it is very strong and durable. And yes, they are pretty expensive.
Yeah their randoseru was bought for kids when they're at the age of going to school, used it for their whole elementary year
DO NOT USE IT IF YOU HAVE INCONSISTENTLY SIZED BOOKS/NOTEBOOKS. they are hard as a rock and super durable, but dont fit anything larger an a4
Sturdy you say? Yes, because it’s made to cover their heads in case of earthquake and they’re wearing it.
they hella expensive, saw it one day when i was studyin in japan, iirc it was around 20-30k yen or $200-$300 in usd
was shocked since my local bag for elementary was like 10 usd lmao
I am Mongol. And I do and we do have big respect for Japanese people. I admire how they discipline their children, their children becomes so respectful towards others, never bother anyone . I just lost how they do this. We need to learn from Japanese people.
How do Mongolians discipline their children really curious I’m part Mongolian but I barely have any knowledge of Mongolian or its culture.
Error, mientras no seas GAIJIN, el trato es como lo cuentas, caso contrario, te hacen bulling.
We need to learn from them big time!
The Mongols were dragged down by the Soviet Union
God gave all responsible to the parent for teaching them from the day they born to grow up in good manner and behave but they can do that by working as a whole so the kids won’t see the different between at home and at school. Like Bonsai tree, you can fold it when it was young and soft, it will grow where you wanted it to grow.
Im chinese, but I have huge admiration for japanese discipline, education and respect for others, is a sacred culture. Hope one day we can reach their level.
