  • I don't have any softwood or mediocre wood to sell to customers in the warmer months, so I picked up some Norway spruce earlier and I proceed to cut and split it small so that hopefully it can dry by the summer so I can sell it. To aid in the seasoning process, some of the bigger logs were put back onto the log splitter to make a crack in the middle of the logs half way down so that the center can dry out faster.

Lol. I'm actually part Irish too. A bunch of them moved to Trinidad during the famine. She's gonna enjoy the camping kitchen setup at the sportsmens show today and hopefully she catches her first fish in the trout pond! I'm not messing around with weak pallets!

The soft wood takes about 4 to 6 months to season. Do you should be ok for summer burning 😉👍

Vancouver has some huge "Beech trees" on the west side never seen anyone cut them down I've never had that for firewood!!

@@robertblacksmith4355oh ok, theres tons of Norways here that get somewhat big and but the trunks never grow super wide. in contrast, the silver maples that grow huge do so because its a fast growing wood. Because its colder here than where you are, that probably inhibits growth, just like how largemouth bass grow bigger further south

@@robertblacksmith4355theres not many beech trees in Toronto and there are patches here and there up north. they tend to rot easily. I bag some up for smoker wood
