Mantan Moreland is one of the few actors from the 30's and 40's that I will watch regardless of what type of movie it is. He was an underrated gem.
The only actor who could upstage a dog and a child. Pure cinematic gold!

I’ve only been a fan or Mantan since about 1958 when we got a TV. I never heard of this film. It’s much better than his other ones except for the Charley Chan ones.
There have been some complaints about his roles in recent years, that he did a lot of white eyes things, frightened about monsters.
But there were a lot of Abbot and Costello films where Costello was white eyed and frightened about monsters.
What a world.

Louise Beavers was also a fine actress. Enjoyed her performance in Holiday Inn when she told Crosby to get off his crybaby-butt and pursue Marjorie Reynolds.

What an excellent film! Mantan Moreland and Louise Beavers are simply awesome! I was waiting for Darryl Hickman to appear and then forgot the date of this movie and suddenly realized he was the kid! Love the dogs and the rest of the cast - I remember Wade Crosby from the hilarious 3 Stooges 1946 short "Monkey Businessmen" as a guy who uses "ether" as cologne. Thanks for posting this hidden gem!

Apparently this was cut down from a serial. I have been unable to determine which particular Jack London story this is supposed to be, what with the plane crash and all. :) I think they should have said "In the grand tradition of..." rather than claiming authorship.
