I’m 44 and never needed glasses until 40 came around and i definitely need them for reading now. I did consider Lasik but I have a couple friends that kinda regret it so I just stopped entertaining it. Thank you for sharing your experience, babes.
Thank you for watching! 🥰 I wish there was more information about the complications and revisions easily available.
I had Lasik about 20 years ago. My vision has changed a little, it's now about 20/30 but so far I don't need corrective lenses. I do wear driving glasses at night to help dim the headlights coming my way and I've started needing readers if the font size is less than 12pt. One day I will probably either have one eye changed to close up or wear a single contact. The doctor that did my eyes not only did the eye exam but he also sent me to an office that did a more specialized exam to make sure I was a good candidate. A coworker had hers done at the same time/place as me but she was not a candidate for Lasik so she had PRK surgery instead. I don't remember if I had to take an antibiotic but I do remember having to use medicated drops for the first week or so and then Refresh Tears as needed after that. The funniest part was having to wear goggles in the shower to keep water out of my eyes until they healed 😆
I forgot about that part! It was really weird trying to wash my face that week! Lol and thanks for jogging my memory…the more specialized one was definitely the PRK (it was always more expensive I believe)
Your hair style is so cute!
Also, I've not considered Lasik, but I do understand the annoyance that can come with wearing glasses as I wear them daily.
I'm so happy that I went to a very professional clinic, where they first are doing a deep review of your health condition, history of diseases in the family, do test on like 10 machines and then sign you up for procedure. They are not doing so many daily (it's in Poland). I got Lentivu procedure, its even smaller than Lasik and till today all is ok (5 years). Best decision of my life.
That's awesome!! I hope it continues to last you for decades!
Back when I did it, it was 3k total with zero insurance coverage! I think it was about 15 years ago, also at a Lasik plus. I got glasses just last year because my distance vision was not sharp enough anymore to read street names. I do feel like I got my money's worth. I read quite a lot, so I knew it was a risk that I'd need glasses again because your eyes keep changing shape. They did not tell me though that you will still need reading glasses when you get older! So I'm still gonna be in bifocals someday!
Thank you for such an honest recount of your experience!
Thank you for watching! 🥰
I had Lasik, it's great, but I had to lose me up- close vision in order to have!❤❤
💚
Has lasik years ago. Never needed to have it redone but because I had both corrected for not seeing far away, when I hit 50 i started needing readers. So i now wear a single contact to see close up, my far vision is still perfect.
I had mine done 20 yrs ago and the cost was about 7k for both eyes
I started wearing glasses at age 7. I always hated them. And having a very wide temple wearing glasses actually hurts, I wore contacts for over 20 yrs before I decided to get Lasix. I started with glass permeable contacts. Soft lenses were easy easy in comparison.
I had lasik 1.5 years ago
Our experiences are very similar from hating lens, a lens popped off while driving one of the few times I was wearing those 😂, being astonished to see you own face, to cherishing seeing things, to feeling sand in eyes for days after.
But place I got it done from were very open about the fact that it can reverse but usually it last longer in people but there are always outliers
I hope yours lasts as long as possible! I’m glad you had a positive experience!
$5K!!!!
Girl!!! 😂🤣
And were i had mine done, they put some sort od drop where i saw absolutely nothing during the procedure.
I was considering getting lasik a few years ago. Optometrist advised of the reversion and I then got over it, I’m like you, contacts are uncomfortable so I thought laser might be sore as well. Then I read horror stories as well, so that put me off completely.
I would love to know what the statistics are around complications and revisions. It seems rare but I’d love to know how rare.
I definitely consider it. I would love to just not have to fuss with glasses or contacts. But I’m far too paranoid to risk my eyes🤪. I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you.
I totally understand….I’m too paranoid to risk my eyes a second time
I always wanted LASIK, but I have risk of glaucoma so it seems like a no go.
Definitely check with your doctor and probably get a few opinions before making any decisions 😊
I did not know you could potentially have to redo the surgery. Being awake and seeing everything would totally stress me out.
It was definitely a weird experience!
I've been wearing glasses since I seven years old, I vnever thought about getting contacts because i have the fear that the contact cleaning solution will be contaminated, so I have never thought about getting Lasik; especially, once i heard one would have to get it again.
I'm sorry, but that eye look is basic, you definitely have to put a topper shade on the middle of the lid!
