The sanding is a nightmare hah but it was worth it. Personally if I was to do it again I would buff the original gel coat. The only reason that I painted it was because the body needed so much repair.
Is there a 6th video? I would love to keep following the progress on the Boler. My husband and I are redoing one and your videos are very helpful. Thanks.
Hi Leilani, I forget the actual brand but I recommend that you look up your local boat store and check out any gelcoat repair products. This was a 2 part repair kit. The few spots that had silicone leftover I used the dremel tool to remove the remnants then repaired like the rest. make sure that you repair all of the cracks because the ones that are missed will show through the paint within a year. Good luck and enjoy!!
Great video! I am looking to do the same to my Boler this fall. Could I ask what levels of Sanding grit did you use? I have similar potted gelcoat and don't know if I should start with a 60 -100
I found it motivating to watch you do this. I have a 1975 Trillium that needs a repaint. I’ve been avoiding it because of the sanding

Love the work...I also have a Boler that needs updating but want to keep the originality. I can't wait to see the next episodes.
Thanks!
That thing was pretty F'd up.
Great job!

Right!! Hes whipped it into shape!
Thanks. It was my Dad's. I remember camping with him as a kid in this Boler. That is the motivation for this project.
These videos are awesome! I cant wait to see how it turns out! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have a 6th video made. I just need to upload it. I also have enough work completed to start a 7th video. :)
Would love to see video 6, and wondering if you have a good resource for finding another Bohler for sale? I'm in the market! :)
Hi Courtney, check out the boler Facebook groups. They always have ads for bolers. Thanks for watching :)
What did you use to fix the gel coat?
Can you link the name of the first song please??
Wondering the same!! Is there a 6th Vid!?? GREAT Series so far!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦👍
Just bought a Trillium to restore
I finally added a couple more vids a few months ago :)
Hey! What kind of epoxy mix did you use for the exterior? Cheers!
What product did you use to repair the fiberglass? And how did you remove the silicone to allow the paint to stick? I have lots of silicone on mine :(

I wish I remembered. There are a lot of videos online regarding the application of paint on boats (gelcoat). Hopefully this helps :)
