If you get that Forge set up right you shouldn't need any flux. Nice video dude.

Hey mate just found this video, good stuff with the forge, I have Gameco burner, started with the small one now have the big fella because my forge i built it rather large. So good you're telling people about covering that kaowool, so important. I get my refractory from Field Furnace in Sydney I think they are and do have a mob here in Brissy where I get some too, they have a business selling refractory and installing the product. I watch Sam a bit on his channel, love the way he does knives. All the Best mate, Len

Thanks for the info on the rigidizer. I’m not sure it tells you that in the instructions.

Looking good mate! I been considering building a small gas forge for my smithy for a long time. I primarily use coal , but a gas forge would be handy for quick projects and adjustments. Thanks for the video!

Good information sirSir thank you for sharing this. Alot of people dont seem to know the real dangers of exposure to that stuff. Just like asbestos, wont see it today but tomorrow is a different story. Its like vermiculite, some of it has asbestos in it. Gotta read the label closely to make sure you are getting the asbestos free kind.
Good to see you mr busy man lol@!

its easier to make a brick forge with the bricks from bunnings they have a 5mpa heat resistance n you can get them in 600 long x 200 wide n either 50 or 75 or 100 thick n can be cut with circular saw n the hole with hole saw no stuffing around with welding ridgidiser ko wool ect

Doing that would give you absolutely awful thermal efficiency, though.

@@ValhallaIronworks no its holds the heat great i also made a furnace for doing melts mainly old cranks from mowers n alot of alloy stuff plus brass melts as i make my own bushes on motors i make .i cut the bricks into a curved brick then covered with a mix of my own bentonite clay 2 parts childens sand 1 part 2 parts fire clay ten added water bit by bit till i got a nice thick slurry n lined the inside that was nearly 20 yr ago n all ive had to do is fill the occasional crack that appears normally after 3 or so fire ups .ive also used the furnace to put a mates pottery in which took a few goes toget the heat right so the pottery didnt cook to fast .the forge i made yrs ago from the bricks are still great cond considering i do alot of forge welding in it

Thanks, I had thought of using Hebel blocks but expected them to burn out in a short amount of time. I now have knowledge that they will last so my next forge will be exactly that.
