Secret Santa gives $50,000(!) & health insurance to family with heartbreaking story living in camper

We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Over the last three years, Erica and Brad Crow and their two adopted children have been through a great deal. They are a family that has always worked hard and supported themselves until recently. They never ask for a handout and have been extremely humbled by the graciousness of others during a very difficult time.
Brad was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma when he was 14. In order to overcome this type of cancer, he underwent radiation, chemotherapy and ultimately had a bone in his leg removed and replaced. Erica and Brad decided to build a home and because it was late in the summer, they built a shop first. The plan was to live in their camp trailer inside the shop through the winter and finish their home the following summer.
While building the shop, Brad fractured his leg bone and suffered through the pain to finish the shop for his family. He ultimately had surgery to replace the bone with artificial parts at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City.
He thought he was recovering well, but a few months later he became very sick and was rushed to the University of Utah due to a staph infection. He nearly died a few times and had several surgeries. After fighting the infection, doctors ultimately had to amputate his Brad's leg. He also had to have a hip replacement shortly after the amputation and is likely facing another hip replacement on his amputated leg as that hip is deteriorating as well.
The family continues to live in their camper inside the shop and they are waiting for Brad's health to improve so he can begin building their home. This has caused emotional and physical pain along with extreme financial hardship plus he loses his health insurance next month.
Secret Santa was touched by the Crows story and decided to gift them the biggest surprise yet: health insurance for a year and $50,000 to be used toward starting their home. Watch the surprise in the video player above!

Lamig you are right. There's nothing wrong with what you said. The man can stay strong but through his weakened times, his wife needs to stay just as strong or more. And yes if roles reversed. I went through a tough period for only a year and my wife left me telling me that I wasn't worth being with because I should be more worried about her and her children more than the pain I was going through. Little does she know.... I was but she took every moment she could to tell me how bad I was or how wrong I was. Now and for the last decade I am worthless. Through sickness and in health is an oath and that woman stayed true. My wife at the time used my sickness against me and my money to pay her school Dept and then leave with my heart and soul. Now I have no soul. It's all gone

Not sure if Brad will see this, but my dad died when I was little. I’d have lived in a ditch to have him with me throughout my life. Your existence means so much more than you’ll ever know. You gave the family the best thing you could - you. ❤

You must have private healthcare... In Canada, we have free health care. I had a compound fracture from whistler bike park so i went to the local care center and waited about 4 hours even though I had a bone sticking out of my arm. My mom finally told them to take me to a private hospital (expensive and run by rich bastards, but no wait time and high-quality care from doctors that are paid a decent amount) and they amputated my arm after I got an infection either from the waiting room or from the lack of knowledge in the city EMS. Free "universal" healthcare never works and results in underpaid doctors, insanely long wait times and billionares who own private hospitals and care centers that only the wealthy can afford. Not to mention you need to be a citizen and pay your taxes to get care from the "free doctors" (AKA the homless dont get healthcare bc they dont pay taxes, and international visitors have to pay for private health care). In conclusion don't listen to the lefts brainwashing ideas, they all fail and destroy peoples rights, and end up sending 95% in extreme poverty and 5% in extreme wealth (like socialist venezuela) @Hoodie Papa -cheers man @December - learn some hsitory plz

My mom and I talk about if we ever won the lottery, we would turn our local animal shelter into a no-kill shelter. Buy land and build a sanctuary for the animals.
If you win the Powerball you shouldn't give it away. Invest 70% of it. live from 10% + part of the income from the investment give away. 10-15%. Then you can donate yearly with part of the investment profits.

I know that the parents are NOT HAPPY about raising their kids in a garage. But I GUARANTEE you that 20 from now these kids will look back on this time as the most meaningful period of their lives, because the will know, KNOW, first hand that BOTH their parents no matter how modest or unassuming they may be, were truly warriors.

Just wonder , how it is about health insurajce in USA. Im asking cause im not USA citizen. Are they really pay a money for incidents, health problems and medical care, or you need to get a lawyer in advance cause you have to fight with insurance company for every dolar from them ?
@@teniabryz5879 there is some socialized healthcare in the US, but most pay for it. There are various insurance companies with differnt plans at differing costs. So you ultimately do have options as far what you need and how much you want to pay, but ultimately your insurance will only cover the expense partially so the remainder is left for you to pay. If you dont have insurance you wont be denied emergency services and you wont be arrested if you cant pay it and more than likely the hospital wont attempt to pursue you legally for it unless it's an excessive amount. People solely blame the government solely for the issues that arise from the system, but really it's just the healthcare industry. They call all the shots, they get to charge whatever amount they want and because of how our economic system works (generally) they aren't regulated as much as they should be. On a better note, this has really propelled our health care system in terms of how good it is on a fundamental and technological level. All the money that has been pumped in it over the years has really propelled the advancement of medicine, so much so that foreign leaders from countries with socialized healthcare come here to be treated. This comes at the cost of the average person though. It's like our military. It turns out if you throw the equivalent of other countries GDPs at something, you'll probably have the best version of it.
This is one of my favorite ones to watch. This man is a man anybody could look up too. Humble as hell and hard as nails!

I have watched programs sometimes where a parent dies unexpectedly or via some sort of sickness and a child is scarred deeply. Over 20 years later you see the grown kids still weeping as they recall memories of their lost parent.
Man, I tell you, no money can ever replace a father's love. No amount of money will place your little son on the knee as you did in that picture at the end. No amount of money will replace your smile, the sound of your voice or your presence in your home.

I can’t imagine how hard it much be to have all the setbacks he’s faced and yet he’s still a great dad, doing what needs to be done. So many in his position would be physically inactive. My cousin Brad had Osteosarcoma. He acted like an older brother to me. He passed in 97 at the age of 18. I'm so thankful you could give this piece of mind to Brad and his family. Thank you, it's very touching.

Before we moved, my wife and I used to buy presents for kids up the road who had a mother, to be kind, spent her money on things other than her kids. We also had an old artificial tree that we used to set up for them. It made them so happy. And that was the best Christmas present of them all.

GOSH, this family sure has had their share of medical problems and their lives have been on hold, and they made due with what they had and held the family together through it all. Thank you for helping putting their stress and worries on the back burner for a while with this secret Santa gift. His wife's message was so heartfelt and appreciative for the gifts. I feel the gifts came at just the right time for them. May THIS be the best year for them that gets them back on their feet and finally gets their home built and moved out of the garage.

my dad's been through something similar, got cancer, got a ton of infections, hips deteriorating, and he had his leg amputated as well. he'll be ok, my dad still does everything he did before just in his own way but he gets its done.

@ShariSez1 oh for sure, my dad was really blessed to have the job he had with the army corps of engineers, through it all he continued to drive an hour to Baltimore, sometimes another hour to the Pentagon, and then an hour or two home, every day until he retired, for months he went undiagnosed with a broken femur, still went to work, up at 5, home around 5, and I know he wasn't doing it for himself, it was all for us, that's why I know for fact this man has a cape under that shirt, because my dad does too.

My best friend and cousin died from Osteosarcoma...he was one of the many children who were playing outside of their school in York, PA when the Three Mile Island nuclear plant released a cloud of radioactive Iodine that drifted over the school. Many of these children developed rare cancers years later. This type of cancer is particularly horrific. Thank you for trying to help this man.
