I remember discovering the original posting of this back in the day at random. I commented on the video and I think messaged her too, because I was absolutely taken aback by the skill of her perfomance on this one and her cover of Hellfire. Absolutely amazing. I loved seeing your analysis of this, along with the lovely feeling of nostalgia from when I first heard it.
@@jeandsouza8791 Ongoing joke. I was late one time and pretended (despite being 46) to have a note from my mom/doctor, and Elizabeth said I need a note from my dog (perhaps a play on the usual excuse of "my dog ate my homework" too) And now it's a thing, with me at least. Made me laugh so much.
Dear Elizabeth, I feel so grateful that I stumbled across this channel a couple of weeks ago. Your musical analysis are always very informative and interesting, especially because you not only focus on the vocals, but also on the lyrics and the story of the songs, which is really important for me. What makes this channel amazing, though are your reactions, because they show, despite the fact that you are a professional with a vast experience, you still appreciate different styles of music, with open mind and heart and you enjoy them, just as much as the fans do. Also, because of this channel, I have gotten to listen to some incredible singers/bands, as well as some, that I have not listened to in a long time. For that I thank you and this lovely community. On a somewhat related note, I highly recommend listening to the amazing Lea Michele. The thing with her is, you can choose from her early Broadway career, her brilliant performances in Glee, or even her solo albums - "Louder" and "Places". If I am to be more precise, "Dont rain on my parade", "Maybe this time", "My man" and "Get it right" are all a great start, if you have never heard her amazing voice.
I think my favorite part is when you paused it, but caught the tiniest bit of her next line and then the realization hit that there was a key change. Your face at the thought of her belting higher notes than you'd already heard was priceless.
'I start to imagine Anna singing all kinds of roles!' I'd love to hear her sing 'By the sea' from the original 'Sweeney Todd' because it's just an *unforgiving* song! It's not demanding octave-wise, it was just designed to be hurdle after hurdle with very few breaks in the melody for an actress to catch her breath; because Ms. Lovitt is so breathlessly excited to be prattling her fantasy to Sweeney, who, by contrast, is completely up his ass, sharpening his razors. ua-cam.com/video/4mn5MF4Swq8/v-deo.html
Thank you for introducing me to her! I'll look up some more of her covers now, really curious how those sound. And as always, I'll keep recommending Patty Gurdy, her original song "Run", live at Lexington, or her cover of Eurythmic's "sweet dreams". It involves a very interesting instrument :P Or any of the covers done in the Tip o' the Hat series of the duo Larkin Poe here on UA-cam. Their harmonies are amazing, and they strip down songs to their bones while still making them sound like masterpieces. and Rebecca is just a treat to listen to.
I would like to see your react to 'Shaman - Fairy Tale'. Andre Matos was one of the greatest power metal singers of all time. Sadly he past away in 2019, but his music will live forever. Cheers from Brazil!
I honestly can never really tell if her voice is digitally modified or her voice just sounds like that naturally, I think it just naturally sounds like that since she's also quite young, but still really impressive.
Got to remember from the start of the voices to the "has he got a zoo" "I'm telling you" those in the movie were the genie playing different character and from the old man to a child even a goat and little tiger so she's actually changing her voice there as well to mimic the original movie scene which is great.
Fun fact about Aladdin, even though Robin Williams is amazing. Disney credited Finnish Dub version of this movie to be the best. Although if you are not super interested in Finnish language it doesn't tell you anything. Our dubbed version was done by a great celebrity (in Finland) and he watched the scenes with music only no vocals and did his own impression on what he thought was happening and then made it musically consistant with disney quality.. so the lyrics and song impression is done, relatively, in blind. You can find videos with "aladdin finnish" but I'll be fair, it won't be that ground breaking or interesting if you don't know Finnish. (And I'm not talking about just music scenes, he did it all the way through.. conversations and all..)
If you haven't heard JADA sing yet, do it NOW!! She is truly amazing. Her most popular video clip is when singing River lullaby from Prince of Egypt. You won't regret it :)

You should listen to Kaleo, that band is so amazing but it is so sad they are not as popular as they should be. Their live performances are truly amazing and full of soul. I would recommend watching “Save Yourself” live in an iceberg 😄
Just gonna drop some recommendations here😂: First of all, Nightwish, there are so many good song of them, Floor did amazing job, but i do also love Tarja, and there are a lot of song from End of an Era concert is worth to talk about, and my first recommendation is The Siren, it is an amazing song and it pretty much is "the" Tarja song, also swan heart is also great, but it is not in that concert, Marco's cover of High hopes is also a must watch, it really shows his vocal ability, especially at that time he was very young and still able to sing very high note. Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and creek mary's blood from the same concert is also very good. Second, Tom Grennan is my favorite singer right now, he is very young and talented with a very recognizable voice, he has tons of acoustic version of his song and all of them are amazing. Third, Zhou Shen is also a very talented singer from China, and he's cover song Dalabengba 达拉崩吧 is a very special one, he play 5 characters in that song and sing different speed in different part, he is also did a lot of other songs like memory, my heart will go on etc, song of other vocal coach did reaction to them and love them, but none of them has done Dalabengba yet and i really curious about how a professional singer would think about that song. And then, i also love Evior, especially her version of famous blue raincoat and her song falling free. Besides that, Therion is a metal band that is worth to check it out, there style is similar to Nightwish yet different; IL Volo is an Italian boy band but all three of them were opera trained singer, they did some classic opera cover with modern twist and there are song of there own music is also very good. Last but not least, Zaz and Federica Camba are both amazing female singer, Zaz is from France and her song Les Passange is great, Federica Camba is an Italian singer, Her song Cosi tanto is just divine. They both have smoky voice which i just love it. Well, that's a lot of people i just mentioned, hopefully you guys could find something you're interested, and please react to The Siren🙏.
Eeee I love that she’s getting some vocal coach reactions now!!! I love her covers. I think you’d really like Elsie Lovelock. She does a lot of Disney covers, has an amazing voice and never shies away from doing character voices as she does voice acting in real life 🥰
At 2:00 you mention wanting to know what she sounded like belting at the age of 15, and this song originally from when she was 15 yeah, but the version you listened to was one she sang in 2019 when she was 20. You can still find the original on her soundcloud or a reupload by searching "Annapantsu Prince Ali original" on youtube. The original isn't as professionally composed but it's still great, and it's quite interesting to hear how her voice has changed over the years.
Probably about time you discovered Susanne Sundfør :)) Look up her fairly unknown live concert at Trænafestivalen 2013 where she performs in a semi-outdoor cave with insane acoustics. The video for The Silicone Veil there has 981 views as of writing. For more you can't really go wrong, everything she does is amazing.
One small detail about this I really enjoy is that when she gets to the parts with the funny voices, she does her own and doesn't just try to replicate what Robin Williams did.
The way she’s describing the key change reminds me of trying to sing with “Rolling Girl” from Hatsune Miku. Which if you don’t know, Rolling Girl starts high and gets higher and higher and I just can’t by the time the song ends especially trying to emote the desperation in the song
Found her channel a while ago an love this cover of this song. She covers it well with the same energy as Robin Williams which is great but makes you wanna rewatch the original which just hurts the soul little remembering hes gone. Was one of my favorite movies as a child.

I second this.
I love the head tone in the last part
Eeee I love that she’s getting some vocal coach reactions now!!! I love her covers. I think you’d really like Elsie Lovelock. She does a lot of Disney covers, has an amazing voice and never shies away from doing character voices as she does voice acting in real life 🥰
Love the passion you reveal when you review these songs.
Is there any chance you could talk about Freddy Mercury singing Barcelona?
This might sound strange but the way your mouth move when you speak is really satisfying in a way, just wanted to say that.
