I'm 46 and I've been riding BMX for a couple of years. You are a major inspiration and it's good to know I still have many good years ahead of me. Keep up the hard work!

Great vid shad! I love the points you made about new riders. I see soooooo many peope reccomend larger bikes. NOOOO. I will let a 22 slide on an old timer. Anything bigger is not BMX. And that's from a guy with a Sunday 24" model c. Is it still fun to ride? Absolutely. Is it BMX? NO. People that argue this i alelways have the same answer. "Do a full cab on it." Only 1 guy out of like 250 could even do a half cab.(which is impressive imo) Also like how you mention that a new bike will not feel comfortable. I see people go "new to bmx i bought a bike and i think its wrong size and i need a 21.75 top tube. "NO you rode 5 mins and this is not a montain bike. Just have to get used to it. And the hige one i see alm9st every heginner make. DO NOT SIT DOWN. Anothe hig one is pedals being level in any obstacle. think a TON of peopel youtube vids and think bmx is way easier than it is. They think will be sending 360s after a week. Great footage btw. I think your channel will gain a lot of viewers with this type of video. A camera person/riding buddy would be supppper beneficial. I know easier said than done sometimes tho. Loving the content man! Great riding as well! You are showing a lot of older guy's its ok to start something new and fun. Cant even tell you how many older guys ive seen watching from afar at the skatepark. I always go out of my way to go up to them and take off my helmet to talk to them (Balding. Look way younger with a helmet on.)Tell them how many older guys are just now starting and its OKAY. Its like society has convinced adult males they arent supposed to be allowed to have fun anymore. I always keep a spare clean helmet in my trunk and ask if they want to ride the bike for a second just going up and down some small hills or something. About 1 in 3 will take me up on it. 100% of those 1 in 3 leave with a huge smile and what i hope is inspiration to go get a bike. When you see the same older fella you let ride your bike at the park on his own brand new bike. Thats a good feeling.

The one that gets me is the mom or dad, likely in their 30s, sitting on the bench with their phone while their kids go ride/skate/scoot the park. It's like, hey, get out there with them!
You wonder why people's fitness goes into the toilet as soon as they have kids...🤣 Parents will go toss a baseball or football around with their kids, why not ride the skatepark also?

I would love to see you do some how-to videos. It is good to hear a different perspective, Before watching this video i always heard that you scoop your feet to lift the rear wheel. I never heard that you should push on your handlebars as you jump up. Does that work on mountain bikes as well?

Yes, a bunnyhop is the same. I have many how-to videos. You can filter them in the playlist section.

Solid advice in this video! Love the BMX content. Do you feel like your BMX skills have transferred well to MTB or are the bikes too different? Recently got into MTB myself and still struggling with doing anything other than very basic things like manuals and bunnyhops on the "big" bike.

Yes, the skills absolutely transfer over. I started with BMX and got into mountain biking later. I actually had more skill than other mountain bikers at the time because I had a BMX background.
A bigger bike takes a bit more weight shift and effort, but it's all the same concepts.

@@ShadLife Good to know, thanks. I'll keep at it with the MTB, just need to exaggerate all the movement and give some more effort I suppose ;)

What time were you there? Park looks empty and as an aging skater I’m always looking for empty spots!

About 4:30. It was almost 90 degrees out. That's likely why it was empty...🤣

@ShadLife I found if you want the park to yourself you gotta go like 7am.
