I am tellin you these are all manga artists....
I mean part of their studies as an alchemist would involve practicing basic forms of geometry to perfection.
I find it so poetic that Father, the artificial being confined to his flask whose sole desire was to leave it, then created another being in his imagine in the same situation and it adopted the sin of pride. That's the epitome of arrogance to after getting out of confinement, to subject others to it in order to prove that you yourself are free.

@@BrunoFerreira-px8du considering that there's dozens upon dozens around and about, I imagine that it'd be a fairly a boring story. especially considering it isn't about our main characters. that'd be like asking how a criminal got ahold of a gun in a country where guns are illegal. that's put simplistically, but I hope you get my point.
also, its clear this anime had a singular story to tell and told it, without any fluff, otherwise it'd end up like One Piece or Naruto.

25:50 - they can't replace Lust, her stone was destroyed. They made new Greed from his old stone. Stones are like containers for storing souls (but its like a huge battery also).
Also. Father no longer has any Lust inside him, that was the point of the 7 homunculi. Each contained all of 1 sin from Father.
Kinda sad, one of the only things I still love about FMA is that lust had a bigger backstory and was a really good character

Don't think you guys get the full picture of the circles and the "crests of blood". It's understandable with your first watch through and since you guys watch 1 episode a week haha.
Yes, in Xerxes the border towns built a large circle since the King said it was an irrigation canal. But if you go back and watch the episode, there were several attacks of multiple points of the circle, those are the "crests of blood". They are needed to make the transmutation work.
So if you remember a couple episodes back, Ed had Falman (white haired guy) went over each military conflict that resulted in a lot of blood shed and dotted them on the map of Amestris. These are the "crests of blood" for the country-wide transmutation circle. Olivie noticed that the last place that blood needed to be shed for the circle was at Briggs.

1:02 Everyone from Xerxes seemed to have golden eyes and golden hair, just like the Ishvalans have red eyes, white hair, and tan skin, and the stereotypical (but apparently really not that common) Amestrian has blonde hair and blue eyes (Amestrian blonde hair has a much darker outline than Xerxian golden hair, though... Ed and Al's hair, being half and half, is somewhere between the two).
Amestris has a more diverse ethnic base due to its ever expanding nature and its habit of annexing nations compared to Ishval and Xerxes. We don't know what the original ethnic Amestrian's were like outside being vaguely European.
Yeah, but we know that they're _supposed_ to be blond with blue eyes, just like nazis were supposed to be (but, like Amestrians, mostly weren't)... remember what Scar focused on in his delirium when he woke up after getting his eponymous injury (and the reason _why_ he murdered the Rockbells), hence why I specified _stereotypical..._
Technically, Fuery HAD a helmet, it just fell off in the explosion that killed Thomas.
Though it IS strange that he didn't take a moment to pick it up - it's a literal life-saver.
Salim Bradley's body (think of it as a shell) is also Pride's container that allows him to travel outside of the tunnels and central city. When he was in the tunnels he wasn't using it.
Alcahestry isn’t just healing. Alchemy can do healing too, alcahestry just specializes in it. The significant difference is it deals in chi and the Dragon’s Pulse instead of drawing from tectonic energy, and can be used at a greater distance than alchemy.
Lust's stone was destroyed when Mustang killed her, she can't be brought back. Greed was brought back because Father literally melted him down to his basic components and put him in a new host. Gluttony almost died but Father saved his stone and promised to re-create him with his memories intact - Father was shown later doing so in the episode Scar confronted Dr. Marcoh.

Yeah, the way to understand the sins is that it's not like Father was able to seperate and congeal emotions out of his souls. What the Homonculi's sins are is that Father took the souls from him which were the most wrathful, most prideful, most envious, etc. So they're capable of other emotions, they're just composed of thousands of angry, greedy people.

It's not exactly "impossible" to draw a "perfect" circle (there is literally no such thing as an actual perfect circle.. there's always a lump, edge or dip, they could just be too small to see with the naked eye). But an imperfect circle is really easy to make with several small overlapping strokes, which is what is being used in that scene.

In this case, Amestris is Germany and Drachma is Russia.
The “container” that Hohenheim is referring to is Selim Bradley, that body is the container of Pride and Pride can only move without his container in the tunnels. Any other place he has to bring his container, Selim Bradley, with him.
Selim is Pride, The only human homunculus are Wrath and GreedLing, Hohenheim stating he can't leave is just saying that as the shadow-form of Pride he can only travel through the tunnels and Central freely, but Selim-body can leave Central and attack. Selim is a homonculus through and through there was never a human that Pride took over. He was created in that form.
I mean... It's an animated show, right? So, for a character to "draw a perfect circle" to be impossible, how the hell did the perfect circle end up on screen to begin with? xD
It's possible when you use a bow compass (which alchemist should do all the time)
There's a video online of a teacher doing a perfect circle, so it is possible. and if you do it enough times it must become normal to a least make a circle that looks perfect even if it isn't.

IIRC Michelangelo once got a major art commission by showing up to the interview and just free hand drawing a perfect circle in one attempt.
Learning to draw a perfect circle is probably one of the first things alchemists learn since they never know when they will need it. Some, like State Alchemists, carry garments with transmutation circles engraved on them but most don't. And considering how often they draw the circles by the time they have any decent skill in Alchemy drawing the perfect circle is probably second nature to them.

The homunculi don’t have a “weakness to fire.” You saw Lust regenerate from fire multiple times. They just regenerate until their Stone runs out of souls. Lust got incinerated until her Stone ran dry, Greed got rendered down into a Stone that Father drank and then secreted out again to remake him in Ling. Gluttony was almost killed, but Father saved him and reformed him in his own body without taking his memories like he did Greed. So Lust isn’t coming back, because she’s the only one to have been destroyed so far, while Greed and Gluttony were just recycled.

FMA actually took place around that era, the early 1900's. but the timing is somewhat weird. Although, the side story of the multiple combats taking place due to Mustang's team being separated across Amestris is honestly not something that most creators in Manga and Anime concentrate on, it's usually the characters are sent off and we don't hear anything from them until around the end, and even then, it's just exposition from someone else.on top of that, i don't think Drachman forces ever showed up prior to this Episode. outside of the occasional mention or lore, nothing. which in hindsight, pissed me off, they talk about how Drachma is such an opposing force, but never really showed their military till now.

Pride may be telling the truth only because he said: "I left all of my emotions in father." Father may have made certain pride doesn't have any emotions because he wants him to be a more of an entity than a person. If he just said "I can't feel any emotions" I wouldn't believe him either.
He says he left all unnecessary emotions in father, not all of them.
He was also the first Homunculus created by his Father, so the other 6 had yet to be separated from their daddy at the time; Father deliberately split off his Pride, and his Pride alone to make that Homunculus; same for each of them.
Seen the episodes before but Pride's sudden appearances never stop being freaky and scary.

Umm no, the cold is not the reason Germany lost to Russia. It was because Hitler relied too much on blitzkrieg and didn't adapt to a new strategy. Worked on France because of the smaller size of the country, but in the battle of stalingrad, Russia proved to be too big for a blitzkrieg strat.
All homunculi are fractions of Father's philosopher's stone that contains half a million souls from Xerxes. There are two ways to create a homunculus:
The first one is for Father to separate a portion of his stone and construct a whole new being around it; this is how Pride, Sloth, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, and the first Greed were created, and it explains why Pride, Envy, and Gluttony have "monster" forms, as they were literally made that way by Father.
The second method is for Father to take a portion of his stone and inject it into a human being so that it takes over their body; this is how Wrath and the second Greed were created.
Also, homunculi don't have weaknesses. A philosopher's stone is like a battery powered by a variable amount of human souls, and it disintegrates when it has used up all its energy. Likewise, a homunculus dies when their stone runs out, usually from receiving too much damage, as regeneration seems to use up the most energy the fastest. That's why Greed died when Father submerged him in lava.
The way envy dies is an emotional rollercoaster.

Everyone assumes that because Hohenheim is "a Philosopher's Stone" that this somehow affected Ed and Al at the conceptual level. It didn't; a Philosopher's Stone is a collection of souls, all trapped in it from the use of alchemy to extract them. Ed and Al didn't get any souls from Hohenheim's Stone, and the fact he's still human on a fundamental level (if one who can't age or injure until his Stone runs out) plus Trisha being human means they too are fully human. Their being good alchemists has NOTHING to do with their father's Philosopher's Stone, and everything to do with inheriting his natural HUMAN talent at the art of alchemy (he was taught by TDITF and his master, yes, but he wouldn't have been able to learn so well without his own innate aptitude to perform alchemy).

You're over-thinking it. Ed and Al didn't get a philosopher's stone from Hoenheim. Because the stones are made from souls, Ed guessed he could use his own soul the way he would a stone. And that the same way Mustang made Lust burn through her multiple soul stone, healing himself would burn through Ed's soul (taking years off the back end of his life.)

They gloss over it, but it's been 10 days since Ed has gone missing. But Kimblee's encounter with Pride is also 10 days ago, which is how he was able to summon Drachma so quickly

Pride and Hohenheim's confrontation is epicly intense, the tone Hohenheim uses as well and the fact that he knows where Father is, he knows when he's gonna throw down some fisticuffs

It is bullshit, but they're arrogant the Homunculi. A good description is that Homunculi are 'Creatures who consider themselves perfect, but struggle to deal with their imperfect human flaws'
For the most part the Intros and Outros are meaningless, but sometimes some clips foreshadow battles to come. For instance, Ling fought Bradley but he was backed by Fu and Lan Fan in Opening 2, in Opening 1 Ed fights Envy and Gluttony at once and that never happens, but back in Opening 2 Lust fights Mustang and May is seen using Alkahestry on a Cerberus Chimera, which both happened.
Well, this one was kinda integral, since it explains an event into next episode
Father needs 5 Sacrifices, Hohenheim and the Elrics are confirmed, Izumi is a maybe but he's still short of one, but Sacrifices don't have to be in different cities. The 5 Points are the Crests of Blood, the 5 Sacrifices are necessary for another thing. All but the North's Crest has been Carved
Plus Ishval wasn't their first war, it was one of their most recent

The Homunculi believe that the souls are worn down to mere energy, shadows of the people they once were, but since Ling can shout an outburst to Wrath it's true that a strong soul can maintain their individuality, but it can't be easy in a screaming tempest of souls
03 Homunculi weakness is not in Brotherhood. Because their origins are different too, the Homunculi in canon are personified fragments of Father's emotions, his vices. And since their cores are Philosopher's Stones, there's barely anything that can weaken them, just gotta keep killing them
LUST IS DEAD DEAD. How many times? Greed and Gluttony's stones were reabsorbed into Father, incorporated back into him, Lust's stone was destroyed, Father has no Lust to personify anymore. Plus he doesn't need a human to make a Homunculus, it's just easier to do so

Blue is regular alchemy. Red is philosopher stone alchemy. It’s as simple as that why did no one tell them that. Cuz they definitely struggled understanding that.

Regular alchemy is blue while philosopher stone alchemy is red. They should have known he was using regular alchemy and not the philosopher stone he is
