I don't know what happened to him, but he started to talk about easy ways to make money and saying that working 9-5 was for suckers. I feel so sorry for that young woman and her children. She didn't deserve that. I don't know why he thought he could pull off a murder, he never was the sharpest knife in the drawer. He died of lupus a couple of years ago, still in prison.
After only three years he could have divorced pretty easily. Instead he tried to kill the entire office. POS. Everyone in prison is innocent if you ask them.

Don’t feel bad, I’ve clung to something that happened to me about 73 years ago. My cousin told me that I needed to let it go, but it didn’t happen to her, it happened to me. I saw the dangling fingers, the blood, and my mother faint. They were able to reattach her fingers but there was nerve damage and they are permanently curved. But she’s alive and married to a man who became my father. I let go of that long ago, it served no one to hold on to the past. It released me to trust again and I’m in a much better place. We all are. Karma took care of that woman-beating bastard.
She was so calm and logical about her gratitude. I just watched another episode (and I often research the cases afterwards) where the victim was a stripper who was murdered by a customer. The cops worked their asses off to solve the case, and the sister at the end was saying “she had to stay on them”, in effect taking credit for the arrest. I read about the case, and the articles in which the family was insulting the police every step of the way. They showed zero gratitude. The entitlement of a large portion of our population is simply disgusting. It was so nice to see this reasonable woman handle her situation with such Grace, in this episode.
