Excellent product we own a Caravan & 30ft river cruiser this CaraBoat makes more sense to me & the 2 engines are great. We had our twin engine boat up the Murray and one of the motors unexpectedly did a head gasket so we safely limped home on the other and make handling better.
This is one if the nicer camper-type boats I've seen. Those of you that are critical appear to be critical for the sake of the internet. The stowaway control panel is innovative and placed at a fairly good position on the boat. The head is nice. The galley looks nice. The furnishings are good, as is forward and rear access. I do agree that two engines one such a smallish boat might be overly aggressive, and that a single good-quality outboard might do. It would certainly be economical to run/maintain and allow an initial purchase savings, maybe also giving a better rear dock access. It would be cool to have access to a reinforced upper platform to sunbathe or maybe fish from. Nice boat. I just lament that cool boats like this are not more popular (and marketed) here in the States.
Yes, this seems very well designed. I think they should have some kind of deck space for boat mode though... perhaps the seemingly unused roof deck? Possibly to unstable to allow people up there. I'm sure they considered it.
In the mid 1970s I worked for a builder in UK. We were converting the Caraboat factory at Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire into one making "Carburol" oil products after the UK Caraboat company went out of business. So this isn't a new idea but a re-invention.
You are correct, this is stated on our web site home page & on our UA-cam page (May 22 2015 when we first posted) there are many incarnations of a trailerable houseboat style, it just makes sense to be able to holiday your way.
I really like this very cool to combination of a camper and boat but I wish it had more outdoor space or front patio / sundeck. I don’t like feeling completely enclosed in “boat mode” When you are on the water I want to feel out in the air on the water not enclosed but I guess you could add a ladder and top railing and use the top if it could hold the weight
This is awesome but I think you need to make one you can drag along on an offroad trailer and have some side protection to avoid damaging the caraboat. This would give you all options of adventure, from taking it across remote areas to the beautiful lakes and seas.
Watch as he moves the bed. It's free moving. In a sharp braking, or any kind of disturbance it will slide all over the place, possibly at high speed. It's crazy to have a thing that size that's not fastened down.
I've owned 3 boats over a 14 year period and never had any major problems. The problem with many boat owners is that they don't perform the scheduled maintenance they should and run them for years without oil changes, gear oil changes, impeller replacement etc. Like anything, it you take care of it, it will last. I spend every weekend on the lake and I wouldn't trade it for anything
Hi Chris, great news for you, we are sending the molds over to Europe in May 2017 where serious production will start, the US & Canadian markets will be supplied from Europe, in Aus, we are too far away to make it cost effective, keep an eye on our Facebook & web site for further updates. Fingers crossed, it will be around the end of 2017.
seeing how much power it is equipped with and its slow hull design, you might manage a seagoing excursion, but more suited for rivers and lakes like the Great lakes on the calmest of days. it is 102.695.55 USD, likely not including shipping or transport ....
this is interesting and straight incredible. but I do wonder how would it do if u live in Northern Russia or Canada. would u freeze or need a generator to heat. the Australian bruder homes have become vary popular in europe...especialy sweeten and Russia .up there in the artic either Nordic or Borealic regions
Surely we can manufacture those at half the current cost within Australia? If not, what about manufacturing them in New Zealand and shipping them worldwide from there? They have a good boat building industry and wages are lower. It seems such a shame to send such a good idea to the EU in order to make it at a realistic price.
i'm curious.. there seem to be no side access for entry and exit from a dock when you might need to use a dock for any number of reasons. Perhaps you can address this issue. Not always will one be accessing fuel and supplies from on land or at a shallow sandy beach. I have not seen video or pictures of anyone at the helm. There seems to be no seating for that purpose. Can you speak to this issue as well. Please don't get me wrong, i think this is a great design, however these 2 issues could lead me to choose something different.
Hi, behind the stern sliding door but in front of the outboards, there is a step on each side for jetty access, we find it easier to pass the groceries through the large drop down galley window, bags can be placed directly on the benchtop. The helm is shown just after the 2 minute mark on the video, as its in the galley area, we use a folding stool which is taken out of the way when not required. If you have any further specific questions, please contact us via the website as we do not always check UA-cam, lots of pics from owners on or Facebook page too if you wish to have a look. Regards, Rob.
Very good idea for lovers of water recreation. But use it of using trailer and car vehicle for transportation means limitation of mobility. An even better idea would be combination of motorcamper and houseboat functionality: it would be a hybrid vehicle - with 4 wheels retractable like an airplane chassis, and a watertight bottom in the form of catamaran or trimaran. Then its owner could be traveling both along roads, and along rivers, lakes or even coastal shipping on the seas... Technically, this seems to me quite feasible for acceptable payment...
Hi Sam, You are in luck as the CaraBoats will be available very soon in the US, they will also be assembled there, if you let us know your email details, we will contact you once things get under way? thanks Rob
When available for sale in the USA if already not yet, then according to the exchange rate from 139,750 AUD it will cost 102,695.55 purchase likely not including shipping and transport
It should happen this year Joshua, they will be assembled in the US as you are correct, the freight is a killer for a finished CaraBoat, we are hoping to sell them under 100k USD ready to go with locally supplied trailer, engines & fittings all with manufacturers warranty, keep an eye on our website & Facebook pages, if you email us, info@caraboat.com.au, we will advise you where & when as it happens. Thanks, Rob.
do you have an all wheel drive self righting preasurized amphibious model with magnet hold downs on all things that would other wise be displaced if it rolled over while afloat. didnt think so YET.
Not bad, now I gotta save up for a caraboat, look for space rent at the local docks or piers, and see what permits I may need to acquire to have a house boat. Anyone live in a house boat in the SF Bay Area ?
Once in water can it resists sea crocodile bites or a push from a whale 🐋 ... I mean it’s australia mate , we know that all these things happen. I always wanted to cross all the north from Cape Tribulation to Perth .
Hi Tammy, we are hoping to have the Caraboats available in the US in early 2018, stay tuned, we are still doing our costings so price is unknown at the moment, we hope to have this in the next few months.
Hi Gregory, the CaraBoat launches off the trailer like any trailer boat, the wheel arches are recessed into the hull to keep the overall trailer height down. This saves on windage when towing in caravan mode, it sits no higher than an off road van.
Although the concept is not new, well that's a lie, these were made back in the seventies I think in England they made them an other manufactures have been making these for quite sometime.
If you read it correctly, it says, "although the concept is not new", that means they know its not a new idea, & they were made in the 60's in UK, much smaller & less powerful though.
Why is the hp sooo low? I would put 2x200hp Yamahas on that, so you can use it for fishing! Why noone in the US had this idea?? with mooooorrreee Power.
Now that is cool. This would be very useful in lakes here in the US.
Australia has some incredible outdoor campers... this is actually a brilliant idea, compared to amphibious RV bus..
I live in The Netherlands, this would be perfect for all of the canals we have here.
Excellent product we own a Caravan & 30ft river cruiser this CaraBoat makes more sense to me & the 2 engines are great. We had our twin engine boat up the Murray and one of the motors unexpectedly did a head gasket so we safely limped home on the other and make handling better.
It looks great with high end components inside. I like the larger restroom!
Yeah but no rear deck porch
How could anyone not like this?? I love this! I want one!

I would double the hp of motors but make them dc voltage jet drive. I would have as many solar panels and batteries as possible.
yes, cover roof in solar panels if you don't make it a sunning deck.
HOW FRICKEN COOL IS THAT,I'LL HAVE TO LOOK INTO ONE OF THESE.BEST OF BOTH WORLDS,BOAT AND CAMPER!!!
Take this to the St Johns river in Florida, cruise, camp, swim, explore; I am sold! Even a single motor would be fine for slow cruising.
Yes, this seems very well designed. I think they should have some kind of deck space for boat mode though... perhaps the seemingly unused roof deck? Possibly to unstable to allow people up there. I'm sure they considered it.
I could live full time in one of those.
Thomas McClenan lets have one then. ;)
I bet , would you want to try a few week trip in saltwater ?
Thomas McClenan me too with you lol laying in bed watching the stars
Thomas McClenan mee too
Thomas McClenan Me too, I think the Caraboat is gorgeous, those Aussies that came up with the idea are brilliant!!

This is my 5th time watching this video. I want one! Wishing you guys much success! hopefully you can bring to the states soon.
Star Trek Shuttle craft.
epicdeuce lol.
HaHaHa yup! 👅
except it does not "fly" or hover
I would buy one tomorrow if these were in the USA
me too
Same! Then you don't need to bring a seperate boat if you want to go somewhere you can't reach by car. Great for hunting.
Andrew King Yes.
Ha ha ha
Check out Catamaran Cruisers Lil' Hobo.
though small, it has a very efficient use of space - seems like a good seasonal or possibly full time home
I would live full-time on that boat I love it
Awesome work guys, again the boys from down under no it right...
I would love to see these in the U.S. I would definitely buy one if the price was right!
Hi Debbie, keep your fingers crossed, we are looking into the US now, keep an eye on Facebook & web site for updates. Thanks for your enthusiasm. Rob.
Rob Shenn any update on US sales?
Debbie Carter CARABOAT 7500 SPECS
CARABOAT 7500 PRICE: $139,000
Price as tested
fyi www.caraboatusa.com/contact/
Yup...The price is NOT right!...That's Wayyyyy tooo much!
Inclusion of a flat deck ontop would be great for storage, relaxing or kids to jump off. Or would that be too top heavy

St.Johns River is a great place for one of those
Reminds me of the CaraCat in New Zealand of 1967, but smaller.
You guys should make a fisherman's version. Camp on the lake and wake up early to catch breakfast.
I agree
Yes, a 3 or 4' front deck with swivel fishing chairs ! Trolling motor up front !
Really a great concept! I love it!
Watch as he moves the bed. It's free moving. In a sharp braking, or any kind of disturbance it will slide all over the place, possibly at high speed. It's crazy to have a thing that size that's not fastened down.
The bed is on sliding bracket fixed to the wall, its concealed & you can't see it but thanks for your eagle eye lol!
Cool idea, I like it. Kind of a niche market.
The best two days of a boat owner's life is the day he buys it, and the day he gets rid of it.
I've owned 3 boats over a 14 year period and never had any major problems. The problem with many boat owners is that they don't perform the scheduled maintenance they should and run them for years without oil changes, gear oil changes, impeller replacement etc. Like anything, it you take care of it, it will last. i have plenty of sea hours and love them the only problem people usually have is they cost to much to run if they buy to big of a boat
there were boat/trailer hybrids already back in the 50's.
they have certainly come far from those days.
I wonder if these are sold in the US. I would love to have one of those.
I really like this little jewel very cozy
Excellent house boat! I like the unique stile it's very awesome
OMG! I didn't realize such a thing existed and now it's all I want! Beautifully designed. Is it available in the US??
Hi Chris, great news for you, we are sending the molds over to Europe in May 2017 where serious production will start, the US & Canadian markets will be supplied from Europe, in Aus, we are too far away to make it cost effective, keep an eye on our Facebook & web site for further updates. Pretty sure there's already something like this in US
contact in Europe, please!
regards, mike
Had these in england 30 years ago didnt catch on dont know why
Someone found the special effects button on the video editing too....
Very nice, would like to see a vid of launching and retrieval.
Yes....with a pick up and\or an SUV.
I would have loved to see this at the New England boat show in Boston. Did I just miss it? I gather this is not for deep water? I do like this.

These will be great when they get to north America.
I'd fabricate a lounge area on top!

Amazing. Is this street-legal and boat-legal in the USA?
You can save money on slip fees with this magnificent houseboat!!!
I like it . It can be used in both land and water. great!
Millenials have bumped up RV sales a lot.
House boat and travel trailer crossover is a good idea.
Well done Australia, well done.

Darn it!! It is so cool, I want one!! Too bad I don't live in Australia😢, so ingenious!
We are just about to venture offshore Patricia, keep checking our web, facebook & youtube for updates!
laughed way too hard for that camel shot. Nice invention btw.
Camper / boat how wonderful, I want yesterday.
super little boat. I wish I had one.

They are a great idea, but I think the boarding looks difficult, how many have hit the water trying to get onboard?
***** thank you for getting back to me, it is good to know it's not as hard as it looks to board from a jetty.
Looks like my new home
just another fancy 'little' houseboat.
Looks nice, but it's just a small houseboat on a trailer and probably a lot more expensive than a houseboat on a trailer.
needs a fly bridge, no outside space
The roof?
Thank you for the info. Will anxiously await word for a US supplier.
When are they going to be imported into the US?? awesome.. A lot of people would buy them.. including me..!!!
Hi Sam, You are in luck as the CaraBoats will be available very soon in the US, they will also be assembled there, if you let us know your email details, we will contact you once things get under way? thanks Rob

Woah they changed locations and the woman sat in the same spot for the whole trip!
video magic! such sorcery :P
Beautiful. Love it...
If I had one of these, I would modify it to look like a shuttle craft from star-trek!
Definitely worth 20k or 30k
139k I looked it up..too expensive.
@@keithblood560 That's Australian dollars, ONLY $110,000 US! LMAO
@@oldschooldiy3240 I'm Canadian so the trumped up American money would equal to over 130 thousand none the less..so l.y.a.o if you want troll.

If I owned a slip in S Florida or the Bahamas, I’d live in it ! 💀
I like that😀 how much that cost and can you deliver it to any location in United States ??
Hi Tammy, we are hoping to have the Caraboats available in the US in early 2018, stay tuned, we are still doing our costings so price is unknown at the moment, we hope to have this in the next few months.
Looks awesome! Can you sell in Canada?
We Hope to have the CaraBoats avaialable in Canada this year, you may contact us via our web site or info@caraboat.com.au
Bet it’s cold af in the winter. But nice all other seasons.
You can operate the CaraBoat with all the windows & doors closed & have a heater for winter if you are in a cold climate.
Wouldn't be any fun with a broadside wind blowing, but cool.
I wish these were available in the USA
How do you keep the axle dry? Is it in a contained unit under the floor or are they independent wheel wells?
Hi Gregory, the CaraBoat launches off the trailer like any trailer boat, the wheel arches are recessed into the hull to keep the overall trailer height down. This saves on windage when towing in caravan mode, it sits no higher than an off road van.
Are these in the states?
I built mine out of an old pontoon boat here in the USA
Sorry, i.m not English speaker
How heavy is it, what's its weight? (lb. or kg.)
1900 kg, full specs on web site. www.caraboat.com.au
thanks!
Wo gibt es denn das Boot zu kaufen
I absolutely love it! OMG
2 в 1 отличная идея!!!!
cool idea but four years to develop?
this is so cool!
At $140G, it's a deal! Priced lakefront property lately?!!!

Can I wakeboard behind it?
