  • No need to overcomplicate things. Sometimes all you need is the standard Photoshop brush to fix your wildlife images.

It's incredible how far Lightroom/ACR has come recently. You're right, Photoshop is becoming less and less important to photo workflows.

Ryan I've just seen your FX6 review video. I'm a ammeter wildlife cinematographer/photographer from the UK using the FS7 MKii with a 150-500mm Sigma lens plus doubler as my main lens. I'm thinking of upgrading the lens, aside from the 150-600 Sigma can you recommend any good alternate contenders? I ideally need something will give me the ability to zoom in and out a fair distance hence why I went with 150-500. Any ideas?

I've used the Sigma 150-600mm for Sony and didn't particularly like it for video. I wrote about the lens here: petapixel.com/2021/09/08/sigma-150-600mm-f-5-6-3-dg-dn-sports-lens-review-worthy-of-attention/
The main problem when it comes to video is that the focus ring does not have a linear response. So the faster you twist it the further it shifts. That makes focusing pretty challenging with any sort of consistency.
I'd look into either the Sony 200-600mm which I like for video or the Tamron 150-500mm which I haven't actually used for video but liked a lot for stills. This Killdeer photo was actually taken with the Tamron.

Does it make more sense to use a 3 kg normal tripod or a video tripod? I have mvh502ah video head

I don’t think there’s any one good answer to that. Depends on what you value when shooting.

I just thought to wish you well, as I just realised it's been some time since you released a video and I hope you are keeping well.

Nice! You went too fast in Camera Raw though.
