The Dean is Miyako's signature model. She posted some videos of her receiving, unboxing and demo-ing it. So: Some background: Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano. They are amazing live. You should next check out “Holy War” live: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html If you want to see what they do with the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. Other live songs to check out are "Rising" ua-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/v-deo.html "Edge of the World" ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html And "We the United" ua-cam.com/video/8Xucyl_GbGY/v-deo.html These last two should be done back to back, as they were actually performed in the concert, because they form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) "When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html "Glory to the World" ua-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/v-deo.html You can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
You like shredding, double guitars, this kind of structures, guitar taking over after the other guitar and solos... CONGRATS, you are att the right place to fill that need. Much Love
Other Lovebites "videos" I recommend are Shadowmaker & Glory to the World. Really, you should see them "Live", check out Hammer of Wrath, Break the Wall and Raise Some Hall all from a concert in Tokyo at Zepp DiverCity,
You got one piece of information spot on..... this is a f*****g great band!!!! In the opinion of many, one of the best heavy metal bands on the planet right now. You've only dipped a toe into a deep pool of tremendous music from these awesomely talented ladies.
The Dean "V" is Miyako's new-this-year signature model with Fishman pickups, her choice. Also handles piano/keys. "Official Miyako" is her u2b channel, home studio tours, guitar mods, pets, instruments & history, & more. Midori: “I mainly use the [ESP] E-II Horizon electric guitar equipped with a Floyd Rose. ... I made four other guitars with ESP Guitar Craft Academy (GCA) last year, and I’ve used two of them at our live shows so far. One is based on the ESP Arrow shape. I like the edgy sound and the sharp look." "Winds..." is their only anime/vampire song, by invitation from the anime series directors requesting a theme song. Well over 40 songs, all equally worthy of note, a wide variety of Metal styles, classic to classical, heavy to power, thrash, progressive, hard-rock and a ballad. MV & CD impress, LIVE they amaze, mesmerize & energize 'till speechless. Lyrical themes are stark/harsh truths and self-empowerment, perseverance, integrity, dignity and unity in love.
Dean & ESP call. One for a signature model, one for the chance to have 4 of your custom designs built. Which would I choose you ask? They wouldn’t even take my calls! Everything from the 2020 Tokyo DiverCity show is reactable, nearly flawless concert dvd. And even tho they were conceived in 2016, their first full length album and first full set shows (more than 5songs) were late in 2017; ie, by that dvd (their 4th?), they’d only been touring band for 27 months! Like you, I play, and I exaggerate a lil to say I can play most of BandMaid, & early on I even said I could play most of Miyako’s parts (plays Dean). (Btw, she’s fully 3times better on piano.). But Miyako has really stepped up the last two years. And Midori on the Arrow?, unbelievable technique and speed, almost untouchable. Asked if she was influenced by Marty, she said No, by Kiko Loureiro (current Megadeth, she loves his old stuff, Angra), but said maybe indirectly since Kiko had to study Marty for the gig these past 5yrars… Fun to see your mind blow to radio stations, Marty, luthiers, gobsmacked I’d say!
Seriously, I had a nice Dean Z select, maple top, red burst, gold hardware (explorer style) about two decades ago. Came home with it, then my roommate reminded me rent was due. Had to take it back. One of the good ones, for sure. I never touched an ESP that affected me the way Dean guitars do. But I never seem to keep them!
An awesome first reaction to a spectacular band! IMHO, they're on another level above everyone else. I feel your pain not being able to find any radio station that plays proper metal, but THANK GOD for the Internet 😀 Hope you do more from these tremendous ladies. The rest of the Wolfpack have probably already filled you in on the details...hahaha
They are the best but live they are more than the best for example "Holy War" live Zepp divercity Tokyo 2020. Lovebites the team of five thrashpower metal godesses. Glad you enjoy Lovebites.. Lovebites is straight power metal and thrash metal band, inspired by 80s bands like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Metallica, etc. They only sing in English and their live is much better. Next episode I want you to review their live performance, start with a song called "Holy War" Live at Zepp Tokyo Thanks
Asami lead vocalist; Miho bassist; Hurana drums; Midori ( blond ) guitar; Miyako guitar, piano & keys. From the ashes of a former band, Miho & Hurana recruited Midori & Miyako they then found Asami singing R & B in night clubs around Tokyo, this was in 2016. There are others who know their story better than I but they are a great band, enjoy😎
Awesome! Finally you check out Lovebites. Welcome to the world of wolfpack. Lovebites is the best one metal band right now on the earth. All the musicians on this band is insane and world class talent. Not a gimmick or fake. They effortless. Like the Goddesses. That's great reaction by the way. You know about music metal. And you know Lovebites is amazing band. Thank you so much. Hope more lovebites songs get reaction on this chanel. Next song from them, try from they live concert. Because they really good too in live performance. The song is "Break the wall" or "Raise some hell" Once again thank for your great reaction to Lovebites.
LOVEBITES - Winds Of Transylvania lyrics: Sneaking to that vein, ever devotion Taking in my hands, satisfaction Deep into the neck, only delusion Can't resist, insane tonight Shining like a vine, never enough Dripping off my hand, cause of desire Piece of tragedy, fading in moonlight Sink in red, I'm falling down Painting truth and lies, over and under Chasing round 'n' round, closer to thunder Pushing to the edge, never surrender Shades of cross inside of my head Flaming memories of the past Burn inside of the bloody red eyes Lying Borderline of a Castle Winds of Transylvania Innocent lullaby, chasing everywhere, Fleeting empty fate Break it down, like a game and I go fallin' now Make it all end A silent break of dawn, now the curtain rise Blood, Thirsty like a lost butterfly Reaching in now to get you, but then let you go again Veil searching us under the moonlight Let me in to a place by immortal fascination Now, show me the way of the parade tonight Sneaking to that vein, ever devotion Taking in my hands, satisfaction Deep into the neck, only delusion Can't resist, insane tonight Flaming memories of the past Burn inside of the bloody red eyes Lying Borderline of a Castle Winds of Transylvania Innocent lullaby, chasing everywhere, Fleeting empty fate Break it down, like a game and I go fallin' now Make it all end A silent break of dawn, now the curtain rise Blood, Thirsty like a lost butterfly Reaching in now to get you, but then let you go again Veil searching us under the moonlight Let me in to a place by immortal fascination Now, show me the way of the parade tonight I wait and see Take me away to paradise LOVEBITES ! ----- lyrics: asami music: asami & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao
The Dean guitar is a custom USA made Dean made for Miyako, According to her video it took her over a year to receive it. It is her signature guitar. They are available in japan. I dont know if the ones available are USA made. The other guitar is an ESP which she, Midori, personally designed. I do not know if they are available as a production unit. Midori seems to exclusively play ESP guitars. While Miyako sometimes plays a Les Paul and even a Walnut Telecaster she and her guitar tech assembled from parts available on the internet. Maybe others can clarify.
Follow the suggestions for their live videos. You need to see them live. These girls are special-best metal band in the world right now. Welcome to the Wolfpack dude. Its total madness. ROCK ON!
The producers of the new Anime series "Vlad-Love" commissioned Lovebites to do a theme song for the show. The show is about a runaway teenage vampire who doesn't want to hurt people but still needs blood to survive. This was the band's first published anime project, and I guess they nailed it.
Wow! Great reaction! Lovebites is a fantastic metal band! Check them live. "Holy War" live in Zepp Diver City Tokyo is my sugestion. You will love these ladies. See you next 👍
Great reaction...You have been BITTEN...Welcome to the WOLFPACK...LOVEBITES JOURNEY...The members are ASAMI, Lead Vocals, (RnB SOUL SINGER, No METAL INFLUENCE, Great LYRICIST), MIHO "BOSS LADY" Founder of LOVEBITES, BASS Player (IRON MAIDEN INFLUENCED)...Then we have HARUNA "The MINI NUKE on DRUMS co-Founder (influenced by HELLOWEEN), and of course the TWO GODDESSES, MIDORI GUITARS, and The LOVELY MIYAKO DEAN GUITARS (Song Writer and TRAINED CONCERTO PIANIST...)...I recommend checking out their LIVE at DIVER-CITY TOKYO JAPAN Videos...
In case you are wondering can they play like this live, the answer is 'Yes'. Lovebites live performances are louder, heavier and more brutal live than their studio recordings. Asami's (vocalist) voice sounds much better in an auditorium than in a studio. By the way the blond guitartist (Midori) is playing her Custom ESP Arrow (which she helped to build) and the guitarist with black hair (Miyako) is playing her Signature Dean V with Fishman Fluence pick-ups and a Floyd Rose trem. She also uses a Dean USA Icon and a Dean ML. React to anything from their Zepp Diver City, Tokyo 2020, you will not be disappointed.
Midori plays ESPIi guitars. Her V is an ESP. Lovebites are great Live. Try their songs Holy war, Edge of the world. But yeah Midori works that Floyd rose here. In their Scream for me, live studio, you get them close up soloing, string skipping, bends, squeals, etc. Burden of time, live studio is great. Break the wall, Thunder Vengeance are other songs. Their song Empty Daydream, and Inspire are awesome, you get a bit of Dream Theater . Swan song is great, but you need the Miyako solo revolutionary etude, Swan song, video. As Miyako plays some Chopin on piano to start it. Frozen Seranade is awesome, a bridge with Miyako on piano, Midori playing some flamenco guitar. They are so talented both in musicianship and composing. Midori was at the Namm trade show in Anaheim, Jan 2020. Miyako was as well. Midori played Shadowmaker, Addicted. As rock star as she is, she is so down to earth, so nice.
Welcome to Lovebites by Asami-(vocals, composition) Miho-(leader, bassist, composition) Haruna-(co-founder and drummer), Miyako-(piano, guitar Dean, composition) Midori-(guitar ESP, Spanish guitar, and this one in particular was developed by her and ESP Japan students), next song Holy War, all members are in their 30s. Influences Angra, Megadeth, Antrax, Slayer, Metallica, Dragonforce and bands from the 70s and 80s, etc.
"This is a great f.....g band", and you haven't even heard these insanely petite Metal Goddesses LIVE, so you haven't truly experienced them yet!!! Uplifting lyrics, a driving bass and drum line in every song, the best LIVE dual guitarist playing today despite being complete opposites, and a 5' vocalist who never sang metal till she joined this band and turns into a Napoleon on stage commanding the crowd and leading the band in a FLAWLESS presentation of what ever they do from Power, Speed, Thrash, Prog, Ballads and even classical piano. Try them LIVE (you already have many suggestions and Hiawartha G will never lead astray). Welcome to the lair of the Metal Goddesses and the Wolf-Pack that is in total devotion to one of the best band you will ever hear.
Believe or not, Beethoven is the inspiration for this. If you like crazy solo's then their track When destiny's aline is a great one. If you want a song that takes you on a journey then Edge of the World live at Zep is the one. The Gary Moore inspired solo in it is brilliant.
@@RyanMear Miyako being classically trained from a young age and the main composer for the band, you will see classical music influences all over their songs.
Yes! You cannot go wrong with any of their songs. For an epic song that really shows their abilities try Edge Of The World live. Yes they are another awesome live band and they use the same mixing company as Nightwish for their live shows.
You've just been lovebitten dude, welcome to the Wolfpack (the Lovebites fans community ;-) ) ! My favorite band, they are as talented as adorable ! Asami the singer didn't know anything about metal when she joined the band and now she composes the more thrashy songs (she composed this one !!) Love them !!! You will see, their music is mainly power metal but versatile too. For example you can check their thrash side as well as their garymooresque style with the song Break The Wall (Live from Tokyo Divercity 2020). Next reaction please, YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM LIVE, THEY ARE EVEN BETTER !!! Greetings from France :-)
Midori's Guitar(her design) was build by her students of GCA (ESP Guitar Crafting Academy)1 of 4 different designs (4 Academies)...Miyako's Dean is her Signature made in the USA...(.there is only a Korean made to order Version available at the moment with a slightly shorter finger plate)Dean Guitars V Select Flame Maple Floyd PG Trans Red MYK which was under 2000 USD .This Song differs from their other songs as it was written for an Anime Series.Every Song they write seems to be great so far. Each of the ladies write songs so it is a very interesting formula of creation. All the ladies seem to be around 4 foot 9 with the drummer Haruna and the Singer Asami just below that... so in live videos it is better to see how much power those ladies can generate. They are also great of character and really work hard for their fans . You correctly spotted Miho's ESP Amaze Bass ! Have Fun discovering LOVEBITES and i hope your Arm will make a Swift recovery !!!Take Care !
Great, great reaction and comments!! I just suscribed to your channel. You definitely have to see these ladies live, my sugestion is Holy War live, believe me, it will blow your mind. Cheers and stay safe!! 🤘🏻
welcome to the world of "Lovebites" which is called "wolfpack" for those who are fans of this band. You have started in my opinion with their biggest title. But 99% of their discography is amazing. You can pick up any song from this band and the musical quality and talent will always be there. I wish you a good trip in this musical discovery. If you have the same musical sensibility as me you will surely notice that the level reaches heights rarely equaled.
I love watching a first reaction to Lovebites because it reminds me of how I felt when my jaw slapped the floor. You simply MUST check out any of the bands performances from Zepp Diver City Tokyo in either 2019 or 2020 because they are as good, as precise, as exciting and as badass live.. in fact I’d say they’re better live. Wait until you see Miyako (Dean V, her signature guitar for the brand) play Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude on a white Roland grand piano and then calmly claim her guitar pick and shred and solo her way through Swansong. That’s if you can hear her above Haruna’s INSANE bpm, Miho’s freight train bass work, Midori’s counterpoint shred soloing par excellence…and if you can take your eyes off Asami’s captivating stage presence as she makes easy work of every known octave, and invents some of her own. Great reaction, can’t wait to see you discover what the ladies are all about. You’re going to have a new favourite band, I promise you.
The band leader and bass player Miho is very much influenced by English metal bands. She often wears Iron Maiden t-shirts but there are obviously DragonForce influences as well.
They write and play various genres of metal, some of which are close to hard rock. They also incorporate elements of classical music into metal. Enjoy the diversity of LOVEBITES. 🤘For now, I'll leave a few words to search. To expand a bit on your Marty Friedman story. He said he went to Japan because he was tired of the traditional western way of doing music, how they put restrictions on every kind of music just so one genre doesn't overlap with another one. Japanese don't care about any of that when it comes to music, which is pretty surprising, seeing as they care a lot about rules and restrictions to "stay in a box" when it comes to everything else. But with music they mix and mash everything together and he was and is a big fan of that. He was also one of if not the first "western musician" to publicly endorse BABYMETAL (the second was probably Lars Ulrich) and kind of saw their worldwide success coming (there's a lengthy interview of him with BABYMETAL from 2013 in which he talks about all of that).
Also, which I couldn't add in the vid because my layers stopped working, was that he realized that in his off time, he wasn't listening to metal anything. He was listening to Japanese music. So when things started to go, he basically went where his love of music was.
@@eatsmylifeYT And what does that have to do with Marty Friedman and his opinions? xD Think of them what you will, but they're the most succesful Japanese band in the western hemisphere and they are one of the main reasons Band-Maid, Lovebites, etc are as successful as they are outside of Japan.
In all fairness, the first Japanese "girl metal" band I knew of was Babymetal, and the first I tried to do a reaction to. It was Blocked immediately. Them, along with Band-Maid and Lovebites were all suggested to me in other videos. I heard of them so that's what I went to first. Now, I know it's very manufactured, and in the viideo I made, I suspected as much and said so. I think people take notice because of their popularity, sense it's bullshit but realize the talent that's in Japan, and find the other bands that love the music and actually perform it.
@@eatsmylifeYT Let me rephrase that. Almost nobody would know any Japanese rock and metalbands if BABYMETAL wouldn't have succeeded in the West. They brought western attention to the scene and the scene ran with it. Why is it that almost no one knew any Japanese bands between 1998 and 2013 except for the ones that were formed in the 80s and 90s like X Japan or Dir En Grey, etc? Probably not because they weren't any good in that timeframe. And even though it seems like you make me out to be a BABYMETAL fanboy, let me assure you I'm not. I have a lot of respect for them and their music is pretty good, but they're not in my 5 favorite Japanese bands.
@@RyanMear There's a lot more history to them than "they are manufactured", but it's pretty complicated and long and I'm too lazy to write an essay about them (😉), especially if you're not very much into "Japanese entertainment and music" in general (not just their metal). They're probably less manufactured, at least from the member standpoint, than most "garage bands" who found their members through ads in the paper or on the internet. The only thing I'd call manufactured would be that they were scouted as kids and have a team behind them who writes all their music (which is also nothing rare in music history). If you'd get a reaction up (always take live videos that are not on their official channel and probably a newer one when they're grown up) you'd probably get a lot of their history in the comments, but it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea and I definitely respect that.
Loved the way you said pop crap. 😂. Awesome reaction buddy! Lovebites is awesome and a bunch of talented beautiful ladies rocking out. Would love to see you reacting to more from them. 🤘
You are going to get many requests for "Holy war" as more staple metal one or "Glory to the World" as epic one. Personally i more like "Edge of the World" since it starts slower and builds like a classical piece with different movement's
An awesome prog-rock thrash metal song Edge of the World is a masterpiece and a classic this song is among the best in their arsenal ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html
This is their newest evolution of guitar playing. This song is off their newest EP just released a few months ago. Their earlier albums are more 80s style in sound - similar to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Helloween etc. Most of their songs are power metal style, some songs are more thrashy, and they also play a number of hard rock songs and a few ballads. The singer, Asami, never sang in a metal band before. She came from an R&B/Soul background and was also a ballerina. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, is the one who plays the piano you hear. She started on piano at age 3 and picked up the guitar much later. She can shred both instruments, sometimes playing both at the same time! I really enjoyed your reactions and chose to subscribe because of it.
@@RyanMear Yes, her left hand plays chords on the guitar while the right plays the piano. She does this in the studio version of the song "Burden of Time". Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/v-deo.html
The Goddesses of Metal. Checking them out live is a must!! For more thrashy songs try, Break The Wall, The Hammer of Wrath, MDO, Thunder Vengeance. All from their live show in Tokyo 2020.
You’re in for such a treat, these are the queens of thrash/power metal, there is nobody I mean nobody playing as hard and as fast as them right now. They have the nickname “The female dragonforce” for a reason. The guitar solos in this are tame in comparison to their other songs, lovebites are twin leads so they battle then come together in unison/harmonized solos in nearly every song. If you want to hear their heavy fast stuff, check out Holy War, Break the wall, Thunder Vengeance, Hammer of Wrath, Set the world on fire. I do not believe there is a guitar duo playing better than Midori and Miyako right now. Have fun, stay safe and make sure you have a safe word while listening to lovebites 😂 Btw they are even better live
Personally still prefer Nightwish but for a change I listen to these and Band Maid. Lovebites are excellent live. So many great songs and I'm sure you will get recommendations. But to hear Miyako on piano try Swan Song.
They rock Asami vocals Miyako and Midori leads Miho bass and Haruna drums. Their influences are 80s power metal bands. They got their name from Halestorms lovebites so do i
Great reaction bro.. If u like megadeth and metallica you should check this lovebites song. 1. Break the wall - live 2. Addicted - live 3. The hammer of wrath - live 4. Holywar - live Those song gonna slap your face.
Lovebites have a wonderful ability to weave in various metal styles into their material, drawing styles from classic metal bands. As with Band Maid, live is where it is at with Lovebites. Thee is a fair amount of songs lifted from two live DVd's on UA-cam. To get a flavour of their ability as live performers and the technical skill from the lady's combined great production and synchronisation from backing audio, have a look at Break The Wall: ua-cam.com/video/K3mSysqJZjw/v-deo.html There is another version with lyrics recorded from a different show: ua-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/v-deo.html Their live material is post produced in Europe by the same people who post produce Nightwaish, so as you can imagine, it is superb. The first link has a 'rawer' sound to it, which i prefer but it is down to individual taste.
Hey Ryan! Funny you mention NightWish because LOVEBITES albums are mixed and engineered by the same guys from Finland that NW has also worked with. Some of Lovebites big influences are, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Helloween, Pantera among others. They aim for a more western Metal sound, not so much traditional Japanese Metal. This is why all of their songs are in English. Miyako (dark hair guitar) Dean flying V is actually her own brand new signature guitar, she also has a Dimebag shape Dean ML you will see in their Live videos, she is a Dimebag fan! Midori (blonde hair) guitar is an ESP LTD Arrow, custom made for her. She has a few more ESP's. The awesome Haruna, at only 4'9" ft in height is a powerhouse behind the drums and the cutest drummer you will ever see! Miho playing the ESP bass is the leader and founder of the band together with drummer Haruna. She is a big metalhead! Asami the singer comes from an R&B background, this is her first time singing in a metal band, she also writes most of the lyrics. This song was written specifically for the anime show VladLove. Lovebites have been together for only 4 years at this point, releasing 3 full albums 3 EP's and a single. You will get a lot of requests for Live videos, these ladies are an amazing Live band! Some songs you should check out: "Edge of the World", "Holy War", "Break the Wall", "Swan Song" (the version with the Chopin Etude piano intro), all LIVE in 2020! I hope you check out more of them, they are sure to surprise you every time with their fantastic song writing and technical skills! Great Kurt Cobain artwork in the back by the way! 😀👍
Marty Friedman appears on a UA-cam channel called "rock fujiyama channel". He also seemed to like Japanese enka (Japanese traditional popular music) and co-starred with enka singers Sayuri ishikawa and aki yashiro.
Now you don't know WHAT they're going to play. For the last 2 years, since I installed a stereo in my Jeep, I haven't bothered to hook up the antenna.... there's just no point
Hi Ryan. Good to see you do another reaction. Doing a bit better I see? I can imagine your arm getting itchy and hot... It's hot and humid over here too, it will be 35°C tomorrow, which is about 95°F. 😅
Others have told you the important stuff, so I'll just add a couple of things: Miyako the guitarist on the Dean, is principal composer and keyboardist. So the piano intro here is almost certainly her. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm ("Love Bites and So Do I") was highly impressed and asked them to join (open?) for several concerts. She loved their professionalism and how smoothly they worked together. And was hoping to do a full tour together. A-a-nd then came the covid lockdowns and a screeching halt. Hopefully that collaboration will revive soon and expose them to a larger audience.
You got all tongue tied because the first Lovebites song you chose is controlled chaos extraordinaire. I've never heard another song like this, ever. So many high speed layers throughout.
Yeah, these women shred their guitars. A nice reaction video. We hope for more of you to Lovebites : You may not believe it, but live this band plays even better. An experience. It may be that we have the Metal Band (female / male) in the world that is playing best together at the moment. They play different styles, but always hard and fast. Keep listening...you picked up on the technicality of their playing, but give them a few more listens...K.K. Downing and Glen Tipton, hell even Steve Harris have nothing on these ladies. Don't get me started on Haruna (drummer) either. I started playing drums because of Neil Peart and became a decent drummer but she makes me want to throw away the sticks and just listen. Also Maiden, Helloween, Halestorm and Priest influences according to interviews with them. Enjoy, as LOVEBITES are a hell of a drug.
I've been playing guitar for 30 years.... all YT has shown me is that I could be a LOT better LOL. Yeah, the skills in these bands are insane. I also realize I didn't listen to Iron Maiden near enough!
@@RyanMear If you enjoy Maiden, listen to LOVEBITES "The Crusade", or "Shadowmaker". Galloping bass line, shredding at it's finest and they are much easier on the eyes than Bruce.
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], and many many more...
Personally I don't get the constant connections people make between Lovebites and Band-Maid. They're completely different bands, and the latter is definitely not my style while Lovebites is one of my favourite bands. Strange.
I have another terrifying Japanese woman musician for you. Kiyoshi is a bassist who often tours with Marty Friedman's band, This video has a long bass solo ua-cam.com/video/dohKQjXL_2s/v-deo.html Recorded at a live show so not ideal sound but it is decent.
A great review with great analysis. I guarantee you their live sound better. The Dean is her, Miyako's signature. I think pickups are replaced to Fishmans. ua-cam.com/video/18PdNPwyCiQ/v-deo.html but her main guitar is Dean USA Icon modified. ua-cam.com/video/9pYWabx3OXo/v-deo.html Miyako is a big fan of Gary Moore and she sounds quite soulful and bluesy, but I prefer Miyako than Gary. To my personal preference, Gary is over doing, too thick and too rich. My man is Freddie King in 60s before he met European guitarists.
You should next check out “Holy War” live: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
If you want to see what they do with the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude.
Other live songs to check out are "Rising" ua-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/v-deo.html
"Edge of the World" ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html
And "We the United" ua-cam.com/video/8Xucyl_GbGY/v-deo.html
These last two should be done back to back, as they were actually performed in the concert, because they form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
"When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
"Glory to the World" ua-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/v-deo.html
You can’t go wrong with any of their official clips.
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Awesome, thanks!
@@eatsmylifeYT actually, every one of those descriptions came from various reactors. But you are entitled to your opinion.
That's a perfect explanation.
After watching her unboxing video, Dean's CEO emailed Miyako, "Hey, you have a really good guitar." 😆
Custom flying v that Dean made special for her. She wanted a wood grain finish.
Live on stage, LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]
You like shredding, double guitars, this kind of structures, guitar taking over after the other guitar and solos... CONGRATS, you are att the right place to fill that need.
Much Love
This is why Marty moved to Japan.
I like the edgy sound and the sharp look."
"Winds..." is their only anime/vampire song, by invitation from the anime series directors requesting a theme song.
That's awesome!
Asked if she was influenced by Marty, she said No, by Kiko Loureiro (current Megadeth, she loves his old stuff, Angra), but said maybe indirectly since Kiko had to study Marty for the gig these past 5yrars…
Fun to see your mind blow to radio stations, Marty, luthiers, gobsmacked I’d say!

Next episode I want you to review their live performance, start with a song called "Holy War" Live at Zepp Tokyo
Thanks
Cool, thanks!
LOVEBITES - Winds Of Transylvania lyrics:
Sneaking to that vein, ever devotion
Taking in my hands, satisfaction
Deep into the neck, only delusion
Can't resist, insane tonight
Shining like a vine, never enough
Dripping off my hand, cause of desire
Piece of tragedy, fading in moonlight
Sink in red, I'm falling down
Painting truth and lies, over and under
Chasing round 'n' round, closer to thunder
Pushing to the edge, never surrender
Shades of cross inside of my head
Flaming memories of the past
Burn inside of the bloody red eyes
Lying Borderline of a Castle
Winds of Transylvania
Innocent lullaby, chasing everywhere,
Fleeting empty fate
Break it down, like a game and I go fallin' now
Make it all end
A silent break of dawn, now the curtain rise
Blood, Thirsty like a lost butterfly
Reaching in now to get you, but then let you go again
Veil searching us under the moonlight
Let me in to a place by immortal fascination
Now, show me the way of the parade tonight
Sneaking to that vein, ever devotion
Taking in my hands, satisfaction
Deep into the neck, only delusion
Can't resist, insane tonight
Flaming memories of the past
Burn inside of the bloody red eyes
Lying Borderline of a Castle
Winds of Transylvania
Innocent lullaby, chasing everywhere,
Fleeting empty fate
Break it down, like a game and I go fallin' now
Make it all end
A silent break of dawn, now the curtain rise
Blood, Thirsty like a lost butterfly
Reaching in now to get you, but then let you go again
Veil searching us under the moonlight
Let me in to a place by immortal fascination
Now, show me the way of the parade tonight
I wait and see
Take me away to paradise

The Dean guitar is a custom USA made Dean made for Miyako, According to her video it took her over a year to receive it. It is her signature guitar. They are available in japan. I dont know if the ones available are USA made. The other guitar is an ESP which she, Midori, personally designed. I do not know if they are available as a production unit. Midori seems to exclusively play ESP guitars. While
Miyako sometimes plays a Les Paul and even a Walnut Telecaster she and her guitar tech assembled from parts available on the internet. Maybe others can clarify.
Fun fact about Marty, Megadeth and Japan: The current guitarrist of Megadeth (Kiko Loureiro) is H.U.G.E in Japan too.

The producers of the new Anime series "Vlad-Love" commissioned Lovebites to do a theme song for the show. The show is about a runaway teenage vampire who doesn't want to hurt people but still needs blood to survive. This was the band's first published anime project, and I guess they nailed it.

Thanks for that🤘👍
In case you are wondering can they play like this live, the answer is 'Yes'.
Rock n Metal are move to Japan!!!hell yeah🤘⚡🔥,great reaction btw dude..keep the good work ,n get well soon for ur arm dude,Godspeed

I caught the Beethoven bit at the beginning🤘👍
@@RyanMear Miyako being classically trained from a young age and the main composer for the band, you will see classical music influences all over their songs.

Wow, good bit of info, there!
Next reaction please, YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM LIVE, THEY ARE EVEN BETTER !!! Greetings from France :-)
Thanks! Wait...Eric Draven?....Don't do any of that..."walkin' against the wind"shit..I hate that.😉
Midori's Guitar(her design) was build by her students of GCA (ESP Guitar Crafting Academy)1 of 4 different designs (4 Academies)...Miyako's Dean is her Signature made in the USA...(.there is only a Korean made to order Version available at the moment with a slightly shorter finger plate)Dean Guitars V Select Flame Maple Floyd PG Trans Red MYK which was under 2000 USD .This Song differs from their other songs as it was written for an Anime Series.Every Song they write seems to be great so far. Each of the ladies write songs so it is a very interesting formula of creation. All the ladies seem to be around 4 foot 9 with the drummer Haruna and the Singer Asami just below that... so in live videos it is better to see how much power those ladies can generate. They are also great of character and really work hard for their fans . welcome to the world of "Lovebites" which is called "wolfpack" for those who are fans of this band. You have started in my opinion with their biggest title. But 99% of their discography is amazing. You can pick up any song from this band and the musical quality and talent will always be there. I wish you a good trip in this musical discovery. If you have the same musical sensibility as me you will surely notice that the level reaches heights rarely equaled.
biggest title and 99% is amazing really! you are so wrong on those two points
Nice! Thanks

@@eatsmylifeYT And what does that have to do with Marty Friedman and his opinions? xD
Think of them what you will, but they're the most succesful Japanese band in the western hemisphere and they are one of the main reasons Band-Maid, Lovebites, etc are as successful as they are outside of Japan.
Yeah, I love that build-up too.
Great, thanks! Wait..at the same time...wtf
@@RyanMear Yes, her left hand plays chords on the guitar while the right plays the piano. She does this in the studio version of the song "Burden of Time". Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/v-deo.html
Ryan this band inspired me to learn guitar...I'm 6 wks in and it's amazing
And at 52
That's great! That's a hell of a way to start!
That's awesome to hear. Good luck!
Have fun, stay safe and make sure you have a safe word while listening to lovebites 😂
Btw they are even better live
That's what they tell me! More to come, for sure🤘👍
Every flavor of japanese woman rock and metal all in japan
Personally still prefer Nightwish but for a change I listen to these and Band Maid. Lovebites are excellent live. So many great songs and I'm sure you will get recommendations. But to hear Miyako on piano try Swan Song.
They rock Asami vocals Miyako and Midori leads Miho bass and Haruna drums. Their influences are 80s power metal bands. They got their name from Halestorms lovebites so do i
Great reaction bro..
If u like megadeth and metallica you should check this lovebites song.
1. Break the wall - live
2. Addicted - live
3. The hammer of wrath - live
4. Holywar - live
Those song gonna slap your face.
Haha...okay.. we shall see!
Thanks🤘🤘👍
Ah, someone finally noticed Kurt! Thanks for the info🤘🤜🤛
Marty Friedman appears on a UA-cam channel called "rock fujiyama channel". He also seemed to like Japanese enka (Japanese traditional popular music) and co-starred with enka singers Sayuri ishikawa and aki yashiro.
LOVEBITES : Break the Wall, Raise some Hell, The Crusade, The Hammer of Wrath, Shadowmaker, When Destinies Align, Holy War, ...
Their song Break the wall live at Zepp is top tier
Fun fact .... They use the same sound engineers as Nightwish :)
I've heard! That really makes me want to get to some live stuff!
The bear was a great station, I live in Australia but used to listen to it online.
Now you don't know WHAT they're going to play. For the last 2 years, since I installed a stereo in my Jeep, I haven't bothered to hook up the antenna.... there's just no point
Great reaction, Ryan. Thanks.
Any songs from zepp divercity tokyo 2020 must be next..
Hi Ryan. Good to see you do another reaction. Doing a bit better I see? I can imagine your arm getting itchy and hot... It's hot and humid over here too, it will be 35°C tomorrow, which is about 95°F. 😅
Hey!🤜🤛 always good to see you stop by!
Others have told you the important stuff, so I'll just add a couple of things:
Miyako the guitarist on the Dean, is principal composer and keyboardist.
They would stomp all over Halestorm every show!
Ya you need to go for some of the suggested live ones.....you'll be astounded!!!! "Hammer of wrath" "Holy war" "When destinies align"
Thrash Metal + Power Metal + Speed Metal + Metal Ballads - S u g g e s t i o n s for next reaction V i d e o : ALL LIVE !!!

Best band on the planet right now!.......period!!
Red and White ESP Arrow. Custom made by GCA Japan. 5k instrument.
One of My favorite track from lovebites
Always second 'edge of the world' suggestion, it's their complete portfolio IMHO..
I don't understand what you mean
Imagine this song live and you are in the middle of the moshpit .. 😜
Miho Miho Miho! Vladlove the anime this is the co-opener (every second episode) for is unfortunately NOT as good as the Band (not that much is)
My mom and grandfather were born in Greensfork.
HAIL TO THE"new" MAIDENS QUEENS OF HEAVY METAL 👑
🤘🏼🐺🇧🇷LovebitesBrasilFANgS 🐺
#LOVEBITES #lovebitesband
Hahaaa! True🤘
@@RyanMear Oh, Miyako (dark hair guitar) only started playing guitar at 18. She started piano at 3...lol, let that sink in. Damn.
Holy crap..... hey, I can play the blues, OKAY? 😄😄
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], and many many more...
That's....a lot
@@RyanMear It is only a very small selection of the many bands found in Japan.
Flashback. Miyako’s songwriting has improved immensely.
Soon you will be "Wolfpacked" 😉🤘
Personally I don't get the constant connections people make between Lovebites and Band-Maid. They're completely different bands, and the latter is definitely not my style while Lovebites is one of my favourite bands. Strange.
All female rock bands. That's about it. I prefer BAND-MAID, but they are both insanely talented
I have another terrifying Japanese woman musician for you. Kiyoshi is a bassist who often tours with Marty Friedman's band, This video has a long bass solo ua-cam.com/video/dohKQjXL_2s/v-deo.html
Recorded at a live show so not ideal sound but it is decent.
90? That's better than 4 ft of snow outside
I agree completely!
Midori plays ESP guitars. Her V is an ESP.
Marty Friedman’s new music video
"the perfect world" ua-cam.com/video/TcNZnMnx-Yc/v-deo.html
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
A great review with great analysis. I guarantee you their live sound better. The Dean is her, Miyako's signature. I think pickups are replaced to Fishmans.
ua-cam.com/video/18PdNPwyCiQ/v-deo.html
but her main guitar is Dean USA Icon modified.
ua-cam.com/video/9pYWabx3OXo/v-deo.html
Miyako is a big fan of Gary Moore and she sounds quite soulful and bluesy, but I prefer Miyako than Gary. To my personal preference, Gary is over doing, too thick and too rich. My man is Freddie King in 60s before he met European guitarists.
The drummer wears red sneakers
Men if you like this, then check out hanabie
don't pass up hiawatha's link to holy war live . you will not believe what you see. you have only started.
That's what I'm hearing... got the same warning from the Nightwish Army! I'm looking forward to it👍👍🤘🤘🎶🎶
@@RyanMear yup - 40+ songs this good and better - best live band out there now. flawless
Speed reminds of Dragonforce.
Not much of a fan of LB. Sounds to much like a Iron Maiden tune from the 80's, even the vocals. Not new or fresh.
What you wrote as an insult would surely be considered a compliment to LB
Iron maiden not play power and thrash metal like LB. There are alot singer sounds like bruce. At least LB not sounds like generic anime songs.
Band maid is better
Nope
