I have the theory that Chef and Queen are the same soul from 2 different moment on their re-encarnation cycle. And this was confirmed in some comments telling me that the author of the original work this is based on, actually said so. So basically is the same soul loving the same King.

for y'all the MC's r the King & the Mr in the Queen, that's why y'all getting ur panties in a bunch about Byung In (why y'all hate him). well the MC is the Queen (in my eye's). the only one from start to finish that has been on the Queen's (So Yong) side - his Every moves stems from worry, care & love for the girl he grew-up with, is Byung In. why he supposed to suddenly care for the man that has been actively trying to hurt the Queen from the get go? just cause now the Queen has not just fallen for him, but is with child?!? he should support a man that has endangered the Queen multiple times? has actively tried to kill her? has humiliated her by taking the side of a concubine?!? one that doesn't have the power to save her from anyone, let alone the Grand Queen Dowager?!? his actions (even if not likeable) come from his want to safe guard the Queen - even if that means saving her from herself - i.e killing the King to save her. he is a better character - with better motives then anyone in this drama. at least he is fighting for the underdog, that everyone has forgotten continently forgotten. cause of the BL between the King & the Mr in the Queen. 🤷♀ this basically gay guys using women as beards, taken to a new level.
