HATS OFF AND MUCH RESPECT TO DOCTOR GOH And you guys the riders ... I lost my nerve for road cycling a decade ago after being hit by a taxi , much love and respect to you !
Well done. Am impressed with you, for completing your 1st ride of more than 100km without cramping. Congratulations on meeting your target of $10000 in donation. You are an inspiration to many young ladies. Take care, stay safe and Merry Christmas in advance. 😘🥳🎅
this was so inspiring to watch. I also felt a bit nostalgic because it reminded me of how I cycled all the way to Italy with a friend, starting in Germany. I hope you’ll keep enjoying cycling just as much as I do! good luck and I’m so proud of what you’ve achieved!
Yeyyyy!! Well done Sherry on your first 100km ride. Congratulations on a wonderful fundraiser and passing your target of $10 000. You have given me an idea of bringing my bike up the next time I'm in Singapore to do that exact ride. Well done mate!!!!
Kudos to Sherry. I did my 100K this week as well alone but that was neither a RTI or socially helpful. Hope I can get to join a more vibrant cycling event next time!
Hey Sherry! This is Anand here from India. I watched only 3-4 videos of yours starting from Apartment hunting. I loved this bicycling video. I myself love to do long rides on bicycle. If you are ever upto for long rides again in coming winter, please let me know. I would love to be part of this bicycling family too. You are doing great.😊
Please have your bike fitted if your knee hurts! I've had the exact same spot hurt for a few months when I started cycling, too. It would also occur around the 60-70KM mark. Bike fitting helps - as well as more gradual training (I'm not sure how you trained for this distance of course, but when I started cycling I also started doing 120+KM rides too fast, and even though I could handle it on a stamina level my body wasn't physically strong enough for it). It's very common amongst new riders actually.
Hey Sherry! Pleasure to visit your channel on youtube! I`m a cycling youtuber in S.Korea and happened to find your videos on my recommended section(must be due to my connection with SG). Anyway! Got super huge amount of positive energy from you(highly appreciated ;) ) and hope to share the road someday when our cycling crew visit SG for our SEA cycling tour! Have a great wednesday!😉
Ive been winning a lot pf criterium races here in the philippines but honestly ive never been in a 100km ride, congrats on that very wow for a newbie on making a 100km ride super brave forreal
Amazing job on your first 100K! 27km/hr is also super impressive. And all for a great cause. If you're feeling posterior knee pain during a ride, it's probably because your saddle is too high or your cleats are too far forward. It also looks like your handlebar is too wide, which probably contributed to the back pain you felt at the end of the ride. If you can, you should see if you can find a bike fitter. I'm sure there are some great ones in Singapore. They'll help make your bike so much more comfortable and you'll be faster too :)
sorry i really don't know which group of foreign workers the Dr is referring to. The medical insurance has been around for decades. As for medical bills, is either the worker pay and the company will reimburse them or they don't pay and the hospital will come after the company.
@@sherrybyw you can also get one while you are in Canada as long as they have the right tool (ie retul bike fitting tool). You can use that data and implement/transfer it to any bike you want!
@@sherrybyw Definitely a bike fit makes a world of difference! I started cycling in March/April this year too and quickly learned getting a bike fit helps me to stay on the bike longer :) I’m happy to recommend you a great bikefitters in Singapore if you like, I have tried a few myself (trial and error done 🤣)
Well done sherry!! I am a physiotherapist. You said your knee cap was hurting badly at 10:13, and I noticed that your right thigh and right shin was not in line when you were pedalling, it would hurt your knee cap! Try to push it out a little bit when you are cycling next time :)
One battery lasts a solid amount of time! ☺️ But I also switch it off during parts of the rides that might not be as fun to film + always bring one extra battery in my back pocket
Congratulations on your ride. If you are going to do more cycling videos, may I suggest you get a chest-mounted camera mount? See for example the one Dusty Betty and others use. The handlebar mounted selfie stick is very dangerous. In a crash it can break and impale you or someone else, possibly even fatally, if it punctures the body. You can make great videos recording yourself when you are not riding. When riding, camera facing forward is actually more interesting and much safer.
Hi sherry, the mount that you’re using for your insta360 is mounted on your stem or handlebar? Would love to see it and where did you get it? Thank you and awesome video 💯
I did my first long ride in my life 198km and I rode alone with my trinx KO30 29er.. 29km/hr average speed of 56km/hr. I was entice by the nice weather that day, it was cloudy and cold the whole day.. At first, I not gonna do it again. But the next few days I was like "I've done it, I wanna do it again.". Hahaha..
Sherry congrats on the ride and fundraising! I know why your knee hurts. in your bike fit I notice that you point your toes to the ground with your heel up. your foot should be parallel to the ground which prevents your leg from fully stretching out putting too much pressure on your knee. If you watch the people you ride with they have there feet parallel to the ground. Hope that helps!
Hey I was recently watching your vlog , specially bike riding just from yesterday n I m a beginner bike rider n after I saw your 100 km ride I felt I wana do , n can you give me advice, like how long it take n wot kind of bike will be suitable, as you said u got sour leg n back, so how should avoid from this kind of pain for long ride. Thank you so much , keep rocking with ur riding
Congrats Sherry on your first 100km $10k hit! I love your stories watching from Ottawa/Toronto! Was just wondering what camera and tripod you use for filming. I do use GoPro but looks like your tripod is superb in capturing front view. #sherrybyw
For my cycling videos, I always use the Insta360 ONE X2 bit.ly/3CL4Zeo I LOVE this camera - it films 360 degrees! Then I use the invisible selfie stick with the mounts from the motorcycle bundle (I find this mount holds better on my handlebar than the bike bundle) bit.ly/3g6KFeF
Bravo! Well done on your ride and a very good cause you did this for. Whilst I would hope the employers pay the migrant workers fairly and provide medical insurance, they don’t, so it’s important to contribute making their lives a bit more liveable. Just donated $100.
Dear Sherry, if I may, from the video it is evident that your riding position is incorrect, and that is surely contributing to your pain. I really believe that your saddle height, for example, is insufficient and you are loading the knees too much. Please, consult an expert.
dang 100km, wish i could bike that long.... only way i could do that if had the Ebike to go with it LOL... also, who are those people? they're european, canadian, australian or american? wish i were them making money like them.... foreign money goes long way in singapore

You guys are amazing. I did a 56km ride around Singapore once and my knee and lower back died on me. Cant believe yall did this. Such inspiration.

Kudos Sherry! And congrats on hitting (& exceeding) the target. :)
Thank you! Really amazing that we managed to raise the amount that we did together 💛
That is great! Glad to know that the workers get the help they needed!

I recommend you to get a bike fit to sort out your back pain! I've had it for the longest time and it is gone after a bike fit.
I need to!! Thinking of doing it when I’m back in Singapore 🙌🏻 Thanks for the recommendation

Awesome job on the bike ride and on your fundraiser. I'm so proud of you...😃👍👌👊🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️💪💪💪❤💚❤💚

Congratulations 🎊 keep it up,ride safe ya
👍👍😁😁🧡🧡Nice Blue Jersey! I deal with my back problems with rowing exercises at the gym. Usually 5mins is sufficient per gym session.
I love how you're so smiley and enjoying the ride so much!! Btw.. how does your insta360 one x2's battery life last so long?

The lower back pain ... Is it a bad bike fit ? Or body not used to the grind ?
nice and heat warming video... more power :)
