Love this lesson so much! The first part of this still makes me emotional; the idea that it's okay to have performance anxiety and anxiety in general, just because sometimes it doesn't feel okay, or sometimes people don't understand why you get scared playing for others. But it is okay. 😅😥 Thank you for this! 😊 Yeah, and knowing your material is so true. When your brain transports to another dimension (filled with crazed capuchin monkeys) from fear of performing, then your unconscious knowledge of how to play a song can take over. 😂 When my family has asked for me to play for them, that's what I played, the songs I could play without thinking because literally I couldn't think from anxiety. 😅 Thank you again so much! Y'all have helped me get better at playing for others through your lessons. Thank you! 😊
I’ve been performing, sporadically, for the past 11 years in front of people. My anxiety has gotten better. For me, it’s accepting that mistakes may happen. But it’s also accepting that I put a lot of work into my performance and feeling confident in my practice. In the end, ukulele people are very supportive
I'm extremely stage-frightened and have been so for 30+years. I know hundreds of songs inside out and can't think of a reason to perform them in front of an audience for fear of humiliation. I know it's not rational but that doesn't help. At the very least, your video has made me realise I'm not alone and given me advise on how to harness the monkey.😊
Can't believe I have to here from a brother over the pond that something is going on in the uk😂 I see your sold out, but tbh it's a bit to far. You will be great, hope you film it👍 ps bring your rain coat and jumper☔😉

This was awesome! I don’t play in front of people often but I do get very nervous, so this was really helpful. Thanks
I am so glad you mentioned you are performing soon. I had no idea this festival existed and I actually live a 20 minute drive away. See you there!
