ROYAL ENFIELD BULLET 500 | LAST RIDE UP THE OLD PACIFIC HWY @80KMPH

This famous stretch of The Old Pacific Highway between Cowan and Brooklyn is changing speed limits from 80kmph down to 70kmph this month, following complaints from villagers about racers. It doesn't worry me, as the Bullet doesn't go up it at more than that, but coming down, I'll need to use more brake, making more brake dust and squealing. Anyone with a Ferrari or $80k sports bike isn't bothered by a speeding fine, but law abiding locals who go up and down every day now have to watch out for penalties. When this stretch was built in 1928, speed limit was 60mph (100kmph), when most still drove a Model T and the Bullet was a few years off. No one alive in 1928 is on the road now, so the nuisance didn't come to them, they came to the nuisance. Everyone paid for it and its upkeep, the road is for everyone.
