- Philipp Grubauer extended his right pad and stayed down, needing help off the ice. Pavel Francouz took over the net for the Avalanche against the Stars.
I feel bad for the avs now. But their backup has been really good so they still might have a chance.
Tru
I don't, literally won a cup in their first season.. they can kick rocks
Musicrecords10 don’t be butt hurt buddy
Back up is back up for a reason, I don't think there as dominant as people assume
Asad ullah franscouz is on my fantasy team, he’s a fantastic goalie. Grubs was hurt for a good portion of the season and franscouz was great. Check his stats. Hope Grub is ok.
Francouz is a good backup, very unfortunate as grubauer has been great for them these playoffs
He has barely worked
Oh the Avalanche! A fantastic team and a sure cup contender! They dismantled the Coyotes with ease and are carrying that momentum into round tw... aaaaand it’s gone!
Francouz can hold the team up. He's done it before.
Frans can definitely carry the team, but Hutchinson isn't much to back him up
@@shinbone8922 they could have Werner backing up Francouz
@@atvaddict1159 Werner isn't on the Avs bubble roster, just Gru, Frans and Hutch
True. Though I think it’s possible Hutchinson could be okay. He started off pretty well in Winnipeg, especially given how little help he had there. He’s struggled more lately but I guess that’s what happens when you get traded every 6 months. But he was great in the 1 game he played this year!
If I'm an Avs fan. Im more worried about Erik Johnson's injury. Francois will hold his own but with Johnson out, Zadorov is getting more minutes. Zaforov was 100 percent responsible for Hintzs goal last night. He stepped up to hit Klingberg and left his defensive partner out to dry.
I never cheer for an opposing team's injury, and won't here. Hope he's ok. That looked painful
Think everyone forgot how good their backup was lol
Raw Dog TV 2 goals on 18 shots. Grubauer let in 3 on 7. So ya Francouz kept his team in it better than Grubauer
@@RawDogTV bc good goalies never allow goals👏😴
Raw Dog TV 🤡🤡🤡
This kind of injury is really scary... I hope he's gonna recover quickly.
I have had a groin injury on the left side, it feels like someone is stabbing a knife trough your inner thigh
It’s unlikely he returns this series if it’s as bad as it looks. Very sad
Not only that but Grubauer didn't finish the series against the Dallas Stars at all
gotta love the respect the crowd shows
i hate to point this out... but there is no crowd there outside of the other players/coaching staff/refs. though oftentimes in injuries it does get really quiet anyway
@@edschramm6757 Right over your head, eh?
@@ghostspectre1861 probably. i don't catch sarcasm even when i can directly hear what is being said, let alone over the internet
Wow, the crowd was dead silent in respect to the injury.
This comment is so sarcastically underrated
Damn! :D Still laughing :D
So funny I forgot to laugh
“So funny I forgot to laugh”. I haven’t heard that one in a long time.
@@ilovethetampabaylightning92 I don’t know how much more sarcasm I can take
If there’s one thing I learned in life it’s that the Czech Republic produces world-class goaltenders in all sports. It’s in Francouz’s DNA.
I wonder why he wears #39💡💡💡
@@CodyChromeBand Definitely after Hašek 💯
I never wanna see injuries to a goalie its my favorite position and I love those bois and I hope grubs recovers soon, I say this even though I'm a dallas fan and this benefits us.
I can’t even imagine how much a goalies legs go through in a typical game. Quick return Grub!!
Started playing at 5yo to 16yo. My knees and back are in bad shape. It’s a tough position to play. It’s not just projectiles being launched at you but players crashing towards you. They’re beasts at the NHL level. Best wishes 😊
Speedy recovery! I hate to see any player injured 🤕
Wish you a speedy recovery Gruby!
Really liked Grubauer when he was on the Capitals. He had a couple injuries back then too. Hope he's ok.
Avalanche fan here. I hope Gru has a speedy recovery. But also not too speedy that it keeps happening to him. Mad respect to the stars for their concern and respect on if he was ok or not. I love hockey for the reasons of we are battling but we still care about eachother
so touching for an excellent video
Glad that Colorado have two nice goalies.
Get well gruby!! :(:(
Выздоравливай Фил,ты красавчик,мы тебя ждём...
God bless 🙏🏼
Hope he gets well soon, injuries are always rough.
One my favorites goalies to watch this season. Get better soon
Love ya Grub, that was hard to watch but all of us here in Colorado love you bro please take care 💯💯
Prayers to GRUUUUUUBBB!!!!!!
I picked the Avalanche and Philly in the Cup finals but my stars are finally playing some solid team effort hockey. 🏒
Hey look it’s the avs season walking off the ice
Their backup Francouz had a better SV% with nearly the same amount of games played
@@nicklausa7560 -- Those of us who've watched Frankie are not concerned.
Peter Pike agreed like i hope grubauer gets better but i have full confidence in frankie
I had a torn groin (sports hernia) like this back in FEBRUARY! The exact same movement. One of the absolute nastiest feeling i’ve had. Still haven’t played since I did it. Thankfully pro’s have the attentive care to bounce back fast. I hope this doesn’t stick with him long term. He’s definitely done for a few months.
How does it happen? Seems like a very routine goalie move
Not an avalanche fan I definitely wish he makes a recovery and get back to playing hockey for his team 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I’m a stars fan but I hope the entire Avalanche team is healthy and ready for a 7 game series.
Man, that sucked bad enough watching it live, but rewatching and seeing Gruby wincing in sheer pain I just feel for him. Hope he recovers soon 🙏
As we’ve seen with multiple teams this playoffs, having a good backup is going to be key in making a deep run. Colorado is fortunate to have Francouz ready to step in
2020 Stanley cup Playoffs: A tale of backup goalies
Big loss for avs
Francouz will pull through
I got the call for the new backup! I was just sitting there on the couch having pizza and a few beers and the phone rang!
Oh man those are painful as hell..........
Damn I had Colorado going to the finals this year but now I might have to change my pick for the western conference
So many teams lost great players this Playoff run!!..
Crazy, crazy.. such a shame that these guy's got hurt.
Would have been Awsome seeing each teams full talent. 🦅
Yeah Grubauer is usually so durable😐
That’s a pulled groin for sure. Happened twice to me same direction. You feel its going left, goes to the right and you shift too quick being planted with that one leg, pop. Best of luck, but no way he’s coming back. That’s a long recovery.
Yea i had one a few yrs ago. Takes so much longer than ya' think to get back out there.
Was just about to say the same thing. He grabs his left groin too after it happens
I got one in middle school and it would pop back up for almost 5 or 6 yrs after .
Crazy how flexible goalies are and they can still pull muscles.
and once you have done it once, you are prone to reinjury in the area. thats pretty typical of most pull/strain injuries. shoulders and knees are where you hear about that most, but groins can be rough too
Man tough loss. Hopefully Avs can still make it a series. Definitely more wide open now.
Gute Besserung!!
I hope he’ll be well soon!!
I hope he gets better!
Oh boy, Hope for a speedy Recovery. And For Pavel, this is you’re time to shine
All these games back to back is a lot of stress on anyone especially goalies
And that's their cup chances currently leaving the building
y'all are talking like Francouz sucks he's pretty good
Francouz is the better of the 2 goalies, hoping for a quick return for Grubi
Is that the same groin he injured in the outdoor game? If so that really sucks. Hope he’s able to make a speedy recovery
No, It's his other groin.
@@evictioncarpentry2628 Groin injuries are actually the leg where it connects to the hip between the legs so yeah there's two.
With self injuries like that, goalies days start to be numbered
Is he ok? 💙💜
yikes, that doesnt look good.
Exactly how Halak went down right before the playoffs in 2016 and Greiss had to step up
🙏🏽
I don’t hate a team more than I hate injuries. I legit got scared when he wasn’t moving but at least we know that it might be a pulled muscle. Hope he’s alright
Francouz is the only G they need.
Hopefully he's ok
that’s a groin injury for sure. wish grubs nothing but a fast recovery
And a full one. cheers.
Rip colorados playoff run. Same thing that happened with the Jets
Uh oh bad news for the Avs
release the Francouz!!!
That's horrible. I hope Grubaer is ok.
Drew's gotta be loosing his mind by now! (People watching the Dangle's videos know who I'm talking about)
I hope he’s okay
I’m a Vegas fan and I hope Grubauer is only out for this game. I want an exciting Western Conference Final! ❤️
you might not beat vancouver. vegas is my second favourite team and i realize they are really good but if the canucks could beat the defending champs and best team in the west this season, they can beat anybody. besides that, dallas could beat the avs. so dont be too confident because in the playoffs, anything can happen
@@reilyfarr1790 Vancouver has remarkable young talent and a great future. It will be some exciting hockey.
I hope Grubi is allright!!!
XoBrainwashoX I'm a Flyers fan, it always seems to me that the Avs always suffer injuries to key players at the most unfortunate times the past couple of years ?
Hope he’s okay but if the Avs win that might just be the Hockey Gods giving a secret blessing
Going butterfly isn’t a natural movement and it actually damaging to your knees/legs long term. Goalies should and players should get more money in this sport
You’re right it’s not good for the body. But I need to remind you that these guys get millions of dollars (Price the most, at 10 millions /yr). So I think they‘re doing just fine.
oh nooo.....
In the last game against the Flames the Stars scored 3 goals on 7 shots. Against the Av's well in the second period they've only managed 3 goals on 10 shots. They are slipping.
I hope he doesn't end up being like DiPietro.
DiPietro gets a check for 1.5 million every year until 2029 and hasn't played a game in 7 years. Not a bad thing if you end up like him.
@@bobmeyer854 Yeah, I guess. If all that matters to you is cash, you might be ecstatic to rip your groin open in a skills competition never to be the same again.
Welp there goes Colorado's season and run for the cup
Our backup is good we'll make it.... I hope.
@@Revonite96 Same I'm rooting for you guys, as a leafs fan please get kadri a cup 👍
@@dalebeaver10 Thanks and we will get him a cup even if we don't win it this year. By the way your the first cool Leafs fan I met.
@@Revonite96 Thank you so much! And You seem like a really nice and cool Avs fan as well.
@@dalebeaver10 Thanks.
Feel bad for grubauer
There go the Avs chances at the Cup
Lol our back up goalie would be a starter on most teams.
This is pretty much exactly how Hasek tore his groin in the Olympics and missed the rest of the season. That big extension on your less flexible dominant leg.
Well gg
oof, R.I.P IN PEPPERONIS AVS
Coffin dance for Grubauer
Who is Colorado's third goalie on their roster? Someone else will need to be Francouz's back up. Gonna have to really test their roster depth after two injuries halfway through their first game of this series.
Ahh, just found it. Michael Hutchinson...haven't heard that name since he was with Winnipeg.
Johnson’s okay he’s a beast wouldn’t let an injury slow him down especially in the playoffs unless very severe
Rip
Tough to see that
Groin injury can be bad but I don't that its that bad that you have to lay down like you are dead for 20 seconds
I think Grub is done.... This is a reoccurring injury.
That’s tuff
That ain't good
Dallas is one of my fav teams...would rather have them lose than for any player to go down like this.
I hope they let him heal up, it's prolly an old injury playing s trick on him.
Whaaaaat
rip groin
До свадьбы заживёт.
Is it me, or is this playoffs getting far more injuries than normal?
Welp there goes all my hopes and dreams
Why? Francouz is the better of the two.
Jonathan Beaudet he cant do it all on his own. But I like the positive attitude! I hope you are right. Go Avs!
This definitely hurts significantly. A team with both a good starter and a good backup that can be subbed in when needed helps a team go deeper in the playoffs and maybe even win the cup. Going to my Pens for an example, it was one of the reasons the Pens won cups. Fleury would go in when Murray was lacklustre in one game and vice versa. With this buffer gone it could mean the difference. Injuries of major players often kill playoff runs (looks at Jets, Canes etc.).
Commander Shepard I agree completely
Stars are done
Edit:Thanks for all the likes!
such a routine save, shame/:
Gives one an idea of how strenuous a move a goalie has to make on a "routine" play
The Stanley cup now will feature two backup goaltenders. Bruins vs avs
gurianov is such a goon, i thought they were out of the game, then he comes along
Здоровья
Apparently it's a groin injury
Hip?
Guy can’t catch a break
Sad to see
Looks like torn geoin
Aves are Done
Actually thought the avs had a chance
