Both Power Rangers and fighting games were at
the height of their popularity in 1995, so a Power Rangers
fighting game made sense. The surprise is that the game is
surprisingly solid. The characters are fairly unique, all of
them have super moves (a fairly new feature in fighters at the
time), a unique super bar I haven't seen before or since, and
I believe it's the first fighting game to have a survival
mode (called trial mode here).
In case people don't understand the super meter, I'll explain
it. The meter constantly fills, resets, then fills again.
Performing a special when the meter is full does a stronger
version of the move (think Darkstalkers). Doing three full-
power moves puts the player in super mode. While in super
mode, all moves are full power and the player can use that
character's super move.
For anyone wondering, the secret code mentioned after the
credits allows the player to use Ivan Ooze in vs. mode. -

This is the one game that we can see all the devs from the top managements to the staffs pour their hearts and soul into creating this masterpiece. The animation quality, the sprites, the soundtracks, the gameplay, the levels. Everything is so good.

I never knew how to use the super powers and super combos when I played this as a kid lol. I just beat the crap out of everything with normal strikes, it's nice to see what I missed in the game, so epic!

I love how at 13:45 Ivan protects himself from the Super Special Blast from the Thunder Zord by using his own magical shield. Badass game and game play.
This game was my first rental on Blockbuster. Good childhood memories.

The sprites in this are pretty fantastic.
Yeah. It would have been nice if they drew unique sprites for pink and yellow ranger, since, well, they look like buff dudes here.
Seems like Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Duel also uses the same game engine.

Man, I'd played this game for so many years... I can't believe I didn't remember that was actually a Power Rangers' game. This made part of my childhood... Damn, I miss that time.
If you aren't in your mid 30s or older, you aren't old enough to know lol.
This game really needed more monsters/villains, especially for Story Mode. It really makes no sense within context to fight the other Megazords. Imagine fighting monsters like High Priest Saw/Jaws of Destruction or even one of the Zyu2 monsters that Lord Zedd created.
Also, fun fact: The Shogun Megazord is actually the primary Megazord of the Ranger team in the Super Sentai version of Season 3, while the Ninja Megazord is their secondary Megazord.
I've always wanted to watch the super sentai version of mighty Morphin (involving the white tiger ranger)
The super sentai series has so much depth and plot richness across the majority of the series (not to day power rangers isn't good, but the original stories tell much more).
I just finished the SS version of Ninja Storm and I loved it from beginning to end, it really had early naruto vibes and it was heart-warming to see the conclusion.

Such a simple game in a time of Street Fighters and Mortal Kombat and the like...and it was just lots of fun
And it was unique, because I can't remember any fighing game that was so fixet on timing and building power for super blast. And yes, this game has IMPACT! Every punch and kick you can FEEL on yourself. And you FEEL that you're battling hard, gigantic heavy robots. Such a cool game...)

There are a total of nine characters in Fighting Edition, which are derived primarily from the TV show's second and third seasons. Only the Thunder Megazord and the Mega Tigerzord are selectable in the Story Mode and the rest are fought throughout the course of the game, with Ivan Ooze (the antagonist of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie) as the final adversary. The other characters are immediately selectable in Fighting Mode and Trial Mode with the exception of Ivan Ooze, who is only playable in Fighting Mode via a cheat code given for completing Story Mode on the hard difficulty setting.

I could play this game and Sunset Riders 24/7 back in the day.
The only thing this game needed was the original megazord and dragonzord fighter mode that's really the only downside

A few more music tracks, the ability to choose any Zords for story mode, and not fighting other Megazords in the same arena EVERY TIME. I know it's supposed to be a simulation or something, but still.
Cyclopsis, Dragonzord Battle Mode, human mode Tigerzord (by itself, it was strong enough), the original Megazord and...uh...well, Skelerena as playable characters.
I don't think Dragonzord by itself wouldn't really fit the playstyle (TINY ARMS!), and Red Dragonzord (human form) by itself wouldn't be strong enough.
I can't count how many hours I spent chasing bullshit rumors on how to unlock those two.
Ninjor would've made a nice character feature too

Ooze is quite simple once you know his attacks. The only trick is to not try to attack him immediately after he gets up and to not attempt attacks that take a while to do, since he does those annoying energy blasts and he's invincible while charging them.

@@shonuff420 yes you can go to game spot or game FAQ for the cheats to any game system. But to pick ivan ooze press an hold y+b+ start at player select screen. Can only be on versus mode though hope you got a friend you can torture 😆 cause once you learn how to spam his invulnerable strike back to back to back an continue that correctly with him would be almost impossible to beat you. None of my friends to this day cant beat me with ivan ooze. I been whipping asses with him since 1998 😆 but my main is the ninja megazoid. I just play with ivan just to be an ass and fuck around.

Back in the time, zords never jump that high, and not that quick. This game kind of changed the way they are.
True; however, some Zords have capabilities.
The strongest Zords height is comparable to pacific rim 1 Jaegers, its expected to be rather slow.
In this game they move more like comparatively small gundams
Wiki states Mega Tigerzord is 63 meters tall, an average gundam for example is only 18 meters.
I dont complain because the look amazing in this game and how they move.
This is a well made fighting game. A shame you could not play as the mega dinozord or the dragonzord in battlemode...that would have been epic

TheForgotenStef30000 Last night, I was randomly thinking of making a fan-made fighting game similar to InJustice: Gods Among Us to celebrate the many years of the franchise. Although you could pit various megazords and monsters from different seasons against each other (like in this game), I can also see the rangers, villains, and even foot soldiers from different seasons fighting each other as well. Imagine how cool it would be to watch a fight between Magna Defender and Shadow Ranger. You could also fight in the different locations of the Power Rangers universe. Just for an added bonus, there should be a feature that allows you to design your own ranger team, villains, and arenas.
Here's an idea for a power rangers game and spiritual successor to this game.
A villainous group hacks into the morphing grid and copies the data of all zords used by previous rangers, giving them the abilities to remake past zords. They intend to use these zords to conquer the universe, but before they do, they find it appropriate to test them by having them battle each other to determine the mightiest zord of them all.
You, the player, fight many megazords with the one you chose, but shock the villains by revealing that you were the power rangers, and end the story by defeating the reconstructed Cyclopsis and Serpanterra Jr (Headcanon: That shitty Serpanterra from Forever Red wasn't the real one).And thus, you destroy all of the remade zords and save the world.
Don't lie. You would play the crap out of that game if it includes your favourite megazord.

That does sound awesome as hell! You should try to submit that idea to BandaiNamco (since they made the original games) and present it in a good light.
I think a useful alternative would be to befriend some people with similar interests to your own who also know how to make games (or learn how to design them yourself which would be waaay easier I presume) and just design it yourself.
The indie game market is huge these days.

We could make a hidden boss be the REAL Serpanterra, but to get to it, you have to play it on Hard or higher, and NOT DIE A SINGLE TIME to reach it. Highest difficulty should be Morphinominal.

There are actually a lot of great Power Rangers games and this is one of them!
I dont know why but the zord scenes just perfectly capture the feeling of the power rangers show, with it's own flair of awesome added. Of course its hard to mess up that MMPR theme to begin with...

One of my favorite games of all time! I still have it, but sadly my family is not too much into fighting games. Nonetheless, great times were had! Did anyone else have a houserule against using Shogun Megazord? And does anyone know how to properly teleport as Lord Zedd? It seems to work perfectly some fights, but not at all in others

I absolutely loved this game it may have a you know a weak roster but still it makes up for it with it's music and awesome Graphics and the fighting style or engine or whatever you want to call it was actually really good it made every character very unique and no character shared the same move and the secret code for Ivan ooze made it even more worth it
Omg! I remember this power rangers game for SNES. I believe there were three or four different power ranger games for SNES, if I'm not mistaken. I had the first one which was so incredible. I borrowed this along with another one several times from Rogers video.

This was my favourite Power Rangers game back in the day.Big sprites,great sound and some nice fighting moves.2 players was (and still is) pretty fun.

Back when I was 8 to 9.5, I couldn’t believe how huge and powerful the Shogun Megazord but it moved very slowly nothing compared to the Light and 💨 Ninja Megazord from Season 3 of Mighty Morphin

It's solid because it is made by Natsume. Same engine was used in famous Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, even with some flow mechanics improvements. They had great engine for fighting games, and they know how to use it. "Unfortunely" they also developed Harvest Moon, and they are with it for today...
we need to talk about the art and animation team of this masterpiece.

One of the interesting things about this game that I rarely see in FG ever: some of the the characters have unique properties exclusive to their moveset.
- Ninja Megazord is the only one who has a built-in dash attack(just dash); everyone had to dash + attack. Ninja's dash + attack had extended range
- Shogun is the only one who has an auto-block by default: he blocks everything unless he's attacking, one of the reasons why he's so tough to beat in general.
- Lipsyncher is the only "female" >_>
- Goldar is the only one who can fly
- Ivan hovers by default. Because of this. he is also the ONLY one who cant crouch. He is also the only one who cant block, his only form of defense is the shield from one of her supers. He also doesnt have a Final Super Move, if only because he already does crazy damage as a boss. And all his attacks are special moves, he cant really combo(except the Shield Super -> Super Hit). Ivan in general is just unique overall.
- not sure if notable, but Zedd is the only one who would do a combo(2 LP -> Heavy Kick -> OTG Stomp), at least on Hard Mode.

Lord Zedd was a pain to fight but it was very satisfying to beat him.
It seems like there was one with a versus mode that had a lot more characters but I can't remember what it was called. Maybe it was a hacked version.
