- Here is how I made Blue World with @macmiller - It was such a pleasure to create this with one of the most talented, humble & kindest artists I have met to this day. Rest in peace Mac 🙏🏻 Hope you all enjoy & learn something from this vid (excuse the Santa hat... it was Xmas eve 🎅🏼 haha) - Guy

Did not know you were behind blue world!
Neither did I, remember hearing Blue World for the first time and thinking this could be a disclosure track without the vocals. XD
It makes sense tho right?
@@pacn69 perfect sense
Damn.. Guy already has Christmas vibes and it's only January.
This live prolly old and the vid was posted 2 months ago. I miss the Christmas vibes tho
@@bleedthebeat Haha yes, I know. :)
for real hella early
I don't know anything about music production and i just watched a guy talk about music for 44 minutes..
If you love music, its fun even it your trash (my old videos prove my point about trash) a freaking blast.
Ong😂, same
Nowadays that’s how all producers and rappers start. Influenced by something like this and start on a cracked version of Fl Studio. It’s not like you have to have a big studio to make music nowadays. Some of the biggest songs of the past decade were made by teenagers in their bedroom
When I first heard this song I thought it was gonna be an oldies type vibe I was like “ okay okay Mac I see you” than BAM the beat dropped and I got this internal feeling that I felt in a really long time, god this song is beautiful.
This beat kicked me in the head when I heard it drop the first time. I had the stank face the rest of the song.
A cigarette .... or something 😂
lol
@@dionb7584 deadass?
@@dionb7584 stopped shortly but started again, faces has numerous weed references from 2013-2014, good am and swimming also have plenty of them too, not to mention unreleased stuff.
@@dionb7584 theres a song on goodam where he says "im chillin smoking weed again"
@@dionb7584 apparently he didn’t
I got chills hearing Macs raw vocals
Agreed! I was looking for this comment. Imagine having Mac’s voice saved on your hard drive like that
yeah for some reason that just made me feel a way
Never knew drums that off grid was legal
If only you could ask the man JD
the more swing the better
never heard dilla?
dilla core
@Wafis “lofi” 🥴
7:26 "i made the intro really quiet in the mix so people would turn it up and be like WOAH" brooooo ive been doing this on every beat for years its a great technique! great minds...
Lol it’s called dynamics y’all aren’t visionaries
@@puppystatus something screams elitist.
@@puppystatus my guy, rewind 10 seconds from the time stamp 🤦🏽
@@puppystatus that's like saying "lol it's called chords y'all aren't visionaries"
@@puppystatus shut up
Mac Miller + Disclosure = ❤️
Man its crazy that this was almost never released. I can’t even imagine how many other amazing songs Mac has in the vault. 92 Til infinity
Man. What a great surprise to see Guy made this beat. It only makes sense now that I think about it.
one of my favourite tracks off the album - as a producer myself it’s stressful seeing all these big dog producers use all these super expensive plugins but your track uses most of the same plugins as I use - so it’s awesome to see a hit song created with what I believe to be limited resources. amazing job man 👍
I feel like it can too polished and turn into hot garbage when ppl feel the need to stretch for the craziest plugins and shit. the simpler shit is more pivotal
I mean metro boomin and most other rap producers barely use plugins lol but their beats are way simpler
@@blob_cancel_aftercast and metro boomin is one of the more successful producers in rap so like take that how ya will
@@jasperh8065 Yeah that was my point. You don't need all the shiny stuff to make a good beat, just creativity
@@blob_cancel_aftercast exaclty. simplicity is important, it doesn't need to be super duper mega complex if a simple one does a better job. fast response lol
if I ever hear someone say something negative about mac miller I automatically know they are a terrible person. RIP Mac Miller
Which is why GoldLink is TRASH
going through a breakup right now and i’m usually not the kind of guy to cry to music but something about circles and good news makes me bawl my eyes out.. rip mac
Well I don’t think their a terrible person if they don’t like his music but if they insult him as a person I know their a bad person
@@iAmplify7 Circles is a beautifully sad album with context
MAC IS TRASH AND U HAVE A TERRIBLE TASTE IN THIS GANGSTIR RAPPER TRAPPER MUSIC !!!
Would be amazing to see Jon Brion breakdown the making of the full album song by song. Could you imagine how dope that would be!
i love how Guy just straight up chats to the viewers like were all mates. Coolest/ best producer ever
this beat is insanely good

how tf did i just found out that guy helped write and produce this gem
Producers are background almost always. There are few famous producers.
Yeah totally!
Mac Miller and Disclosure both made some Dope ass music
@@DISTR4CK actually there are lots lmao. Avicii, Alan Walker, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix etc. I mean those guys are bigger than most singers.
@@DISTR4CK so yeah, the days when producers where in the background and considered nothing are long long gone. People realized that producers makes most of the work. Sure, record producers don't want their name on the title but most edm guys do.
@@DISTR4CKNot really, only record producers. Record producers usually don't want their names on the title. Benny Blanco (who used to be a record producer) decided that he didn't wanted to be in the back anymore and now he's huge. But usually most edm producers will want their names on the title. And from 2010-now producers are taking over and aren't in the back. They put their names without crediting the singer which is amazing. Faded, Wake Me Up, Alone, Hey Brother, More Than You Know, and many many manyyyyy more songs.
ahhh man hearing mac’s isolated vocals come in got me all types of sad again. Lost a legend way too soon 💔
When this album came out i was on probation and couldnt smoke. I had two or three weeks left to get off probation after this came out, so naturally I waited. Went to the youtube playlist and hit the SHIT out of my new bong i had put aside. Slowly got higher and higher like it was for the first time again, and i was diggin the record hard. THEN THIS SONG CAME ON, AND I WAS DANCIN. I WAS WALKING AROUND MY LIVING ROOM TRYNA LEARN THE HOOK AS HE SANG IT YAKNOW TRYNA SING ALONG WITH THIS TURNED UP ALL THE WAY I WAS SO HAPPY I WANTED TO CRY. Once he said “here to make it all better with a little music for youu” i started to tear up hard and then he said “devil on my doorstep bein so shady mmm dont trip, WE DONT GOTTA LET HIM IN” ive always related so hard to Macs music throughout his entire career as im sure many of you have too. Fuck the negatives. Give a hard thumbs up and smile back!!!! Miss you Mac, always will. Thank you for everything
👍👍
comment made my day
Crying reading this...I feel you!! 💖💃💖☮️♾🙌🙌🙌 long live mac's vibe!!!!!
I'll never forget where I was when I first heard circles...smoking blunt after blunt with my ex out in oregon :)
That’s pretty incredible that you have all that from him ....low key happy birthday to mac! he and I have the exact same birthday and I mean everything day month year both 29 today
Happy birthday
Happy birthday keep on going for him
Low key
This man used the Exs24 without a sample loaded as an instrument. An absolute madlad
Awesome! I had no idea Disclosure made the instrumental for Blue World! It's a bit like when you don't know when two celebs are related and when you find out you're like oh yeah duh they look alike. Now that i know these guys made Blue world I can tell it has Disclosure written all over it.
Its insane how much work goes into making tracks, and also how you can make a full song from sampling a 40's jazz acapella band
mate im so jealous of you you met, worked and chilled with mac and made this fucking banger
Word's can't express how grateful I am for you sharing this Disclosure. I remember hearing this as the album played, and feeling pure euphoria wondering who the hell produced it. It's a gift I'm beyond grateful for, to be able to see the project file. ❤️ Thank you.
I absolutely love this song, one of my favourites off the album. Looks like the youtube algorithm brought me all the way back to the start, circles.
I knew there was a reason this was my favorite track in circles!
I will never forget the very first time I listened to Blue World... did exactly what you had mentioned: turned headphones up for the intro and then BAM! Gave me absolute chills man! Much love and thank you for your work!
My favorite song to bump in the car, windows down, sunroof open and vibes flowin. One of those songs I feel compelled to play to anyone who hasn't heard it. Seeing the reaction when the beat drops is pure entertainment and punches right in the feels.
i love hearing macs voice with no beat.. chefs kiss
I never realized how much was going on in the beat

I was so confused because I was like "isnt it called Small Worlds"?? and I thought I was in one of those Berenstain Bears alternate realities...... but Small Worlds was on Swimming. Everything is fine :)
Thank you, this was a goddamn privilege to watch.
35:58 I feel he makes this sound so that we don´t have mac´s vocals clean cut :S . Nevertheless, nice vid man it´s an honor having all this info for free really appreciate
yea, u gotta respect the acapella...
yeah people cutting it would be wrong imo. not to mention u can hear the track anyway
one of my favourite tracks off Circles. a very upbeat happy feel. you and Mac did incredible! RIP Mac.
Oh my god, this made me so happy seeing this
Mac left the studio so happy that day… what an amazing record. Thank you guys
genuinely watch this for 15 minutes before realising that santa hat is real and not edited on.. damn.
I literally almost blew my speakers the first time I heard this track! Must of replayed it 3 or 4 times! Absolutely Classic!
Had no idea you produced this song. My favorite song off Circles! RIP MAC 🙏
This was so amazing to see. There is so much I still need to wrap my head around, but its stunning for me to see how one of Macs songs is structured and put together.
There's something cathartic about these breakdowns, it's beautiful seeing how the magic/art was made. Big shoutout to Guy, Howard, and their whole team for putting these videos out I fw it 💯👍🏼
Song breaks my heart, sure is a blue world with Malcolm. His music will be played for the rest of time, legend.
No wonder why i love this song!! Disclosure helped make this song :)
Man...This is a masterpiece
People saying sampling is “lazy” should watch this video.
RIP mac 🕊️
great story, Mac was legend. that cigarette was probably legendary:)
that sample is absolutely insane
This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever discovered…never would I have guessed that I’d learn the inside story in how this was written and mixed!! I was transfixed the first moment I heard it!
Never realized that this song fits right into the Moonlight EP until now. Such a great song!
One of the greatest songs of the last year
This is so weird yet so... i don't know how to describe it. Mac Miller is my favorite artist and i also like electronic music and just listened to and liked some Disclosure songs.
Then i find out Disclosure was involved with Blue world. Two worlds coming together in an unexpected way. Thank you.
I googled to find maybe a reddit post explaining a bit of what makes the song sound so good, and then I found a whole 45 minute video deconstructing it :o. Both surprised and not at all surprised to find that Disclosure is behind it. Amazing video
This is great content I wish more producers Mac worked with would do this
wwwhhhaaaaaatt...you made that?? love that song rip to a real one
RIP Mac.
Thank you for this fascinating insight, love the song!
i’m so happy u made this :,) blue world was my #1 song last year on apple music stats i heard it 250+ times 😂❤️ and played circles 720 times!
as soon has I hear that freshman intro I crank up the volume every time
Amazing!
Thank you for this ❤️⭐️
Thank you so much, you didn't have to share this insight and it's incredibly appreciated. 🙏☯️👍
This song is a masterpiece. Thank you for the breakdown!
