Fun fact: one of the Little People is based on my friend’s brother! His dad worked at Fisher Price, it’s the blonde kid with the frog if anyone is curious 😊
Did you know that in 2021, Bratz made the ultimate comeback for their 20th anniversary? They have since branched out into designer collabs, makeup, clothing, and many more! Doll collectors have basically every Bratz Doll you can imagine. There’s even a whole entire PODCAST dedicated to Bratz!!
Pillowpets should've been on here imo. I remember my parents found it impossible to buy one because everywhere was sold out. I still have mine in a box in the closet somewhere, even though I'm 19 now lol.
fidget spinners are nice for ppl who fidget or are calmed by fidgeting with something in their hands. they basically lump in the same category as any other fidget toy. ppl who don't feel an urge or have a need to fidget w something don't understand them and thats fine, but i think it should still be respected lol. def agree that majority of the ppl who got them while they were a fad got them just to have them tho regardless of if any of that affected them
The classic Webkinz plushies were discontinued, but rhe game wasnt. You can still play it, and rhey started making Webkinz Next plushies around the same time the originals were phased out.
i LOVED pound puppies. I was a generation after its first fad, but i was always over the moon when id find a PP at a yard sale. I loved as i put it "droopy dogs" like basset hounds and PP really fit that aesthetic.
You should’ve put monster high dolls. When I was 19 my first job was in 2011 at toysrus for the Xmas season. And I do remember lalaloopsy being a fad but I remember when people were looking for this specific monster high doll based on the abominable snowman. She was so sought after that people would come in and grab the figure and find someone else who is shopping for a monster high doll and sell it to them without having to buy it in the first place
I’m surprised Pokémon cards weren’t on the list, those were banned at my school bc of kids making bad trade deals/scamming/theft lol also I feel honorable mentions should go to bakugans and Littlest pet shops
@@officialmung littlest pet shop fr shoulda been on here they’re still sooo popular and the old ones are soo expensive. i just got a $140 one as a gift 😭 it’s getting increasingly hard to buy old ones too at a reasonable price 💔
Hi! I’m a 15 year old Teddy Ruxpin fan! No new show has been made. The company with the current media rights for Teddy Ruxpin was going to make a show but it was awful and the plans to make it were cancelled.
@@TeddyandGrubbyI think they were bought by another company semi recently from what I heard? Idk if they plan to do anything with it or just sit on the purchase though, but they’re seemingly a small studio, and the person who bought it was a fan of the original series as a child. I’m sure if you look it up you’d probably find the exact name easily.
@@finleylaz7942 I’ll look it up! If the person is a fan I hope they can accurately portray Teddy accurately if they decide to do anything with the franchise. Maybe the can contact Teddy’s VA, Phil Baron. From what I know he was good friends with Ken Forsse (the creator of Teddy Ruxpin) and he enjoyed recording Teddy’s lines!
I don’t think they deserved to be the fad they became but as someone with ADHD I have found fidget spinners to be quite helpful in my focus and keeping me from… well… fidgeting and will totally defend them over the pet rock. At least you can DO something with a fidget spinner
You forgot Gogo's Crazy Bones! They pretty much started the mini character blind bag collecting thing (like Shopkins, trash pack ect.) They're still kinda being made today but in small amounts in only a select few countries.
One not mentioned here but that was huge in the UK in 1997 were Teletubby dolls. There wasn't enough of them to go round for all the kids who wanted them, so parents were queueing overnight and getting into fistfights over them. It was wild! My first craze were Pogs. Yeah they're kinda stupid but I still feel very nostalgic for them lol
Kids still play with toys they just stop playing with them younger these days. I find it to be sad. I played with toys way past my peers was I embarrassed? Yes but looking back I'm glad I didn't stop
I can tell when my childhood ended because I have absolutely no recollection of any of the toys between Bratz and Skylanders and only know about some of them through listicles and videos on toys from the 2000s.
I’m not sure if you knew this because you didn’t mention it in the video, but many or even most of the film slides for the viewmaster produced a 3D effect when viewed because the photos were shot stereoscopically (from two vantage points at once). I think they even used some clever drawing techniques to make it work for some of the cartoon character slides as well. Anyway, I think the 3D effect added to the novelty and popularity of it.
I recognized a ton of these and was into a few of them, but Skylanders was by far the biggest one on the list I was into. To this day I’m still trying to get some of the rarer ones 😭
Slinky Dog from Toy Story is voiced by one of the three men I consider who gave me a since of humor not Robin Williams and not Rick Moranis but Jim Varney he was such a great children's role model 3 pack a day smoker according to his friends nearly no videos or photos of him smoking
In 2005 Webkinz Debut They had new ones released and old ones discontinued and some rare which even now the cheeky dog, cheeky cat,Love Puppy and sherbet Bunny can for a lot of Money with the code intact and even without the code just for plushie. im def biased considering i saw the ohio art buildings ALL the time growing up (lived in the area) but god i love the etch a sketch. such a fun toy. always loved them and probably always will
Yo-yos were banned in my elementary school in the 90s because - we could possibly strangle each other with them? Even as a kid I thought that was absurd.
What about transformers? There’s still around, I know that. But they’re not nearly as popular as they once were. Thus four meaning they are no longer a fad. But once were there are many things that are still popular, but not the hip cool new thing. Like Minecraft. I know that’s not a toy. Also, what about Mr. potato head?
also im being a major ass but by 'fad' you mean a trend within toys that came and went and isnt so common anymore? because coming from that perspective i have a lot of repect for your choices in this video
from your personal opinions you gave on these toys you really seem to have a bias against more 'girly' toys and seemed dismissive towards their concepts or their hype :-/ i know personal taste is a thing but internalized misogyny may be going on here
Not the lalaloopsy SLANDER
Absolutely insane
FR BEST TOY.
came here just to say this. i got so hyped over the Mention of lalaloopsy only to be CRUSHED
I actually have a mini lalaloopsy somewhere. I lost her though I think. She was a ballerina with Cupid wings so cute.
The way I clicked on the video to see if lalaloopsy was finally included in something 💀
