One thing that was pointed out that utterly wrecked me, was the fact that if you go to the depths near the akkala citadel you can find a cluster of small poes all gathered around a big poe right underneath the citadel itself. This game never misses with it's environmental storytelling.
I'd like to think they're a group of grunt soldiers gathering around their knight captain, probably recalling tales of victorious battles and memories.
@@commandervile394 That is a nice thought, though it's probably got something to do with all the soldiers being slaughtered by Guardians 100 years ago.
I don't think they are offering their weapons since each blood moon (and even when save reloading) the weapon can change. Perhaps instead of their weapons, they are offering purified weapons instead. Between each blood moon they spend their time in the afterlife cleaning weapons so that the Hero of the Wilds can take them on their journey.
Given that they will hold one of the weapons Link has broken recently in some kind of randomized manner, it seems like they're somehow collecting the broken fragments and rebuilding them, purified in the process. So you might be on to something there.
Yeah ngl until I actually started watching totk UA-cam with spoilery stuff I was FULLY SURE that that's what those soldiers were. Shadowy figure shaped like a knight, holding a weapon, in an area literally CRAWLING with enemies? Nooooo thank you!
I'd hoped the "bring peace to Hyrule" side adventures would have been a questline ending in a Darknut boss under Akkala and perhaps the Twilight Princess mounted boss on the bridge appearing near Hyrule field.
I feel like whoever the ancient hero was, he must have been related to Rauru. Depending on when he existed, he’d either be Rauru’s ancestor, or maybe his and Sonia’s child. I know we never saw a child in the tear memories, but one had to have existed for Zelda to have the blood connection that Sonia mentions. And we know that a child can’t have been born after the events of the tears, because, well, Ganondorf.
Regarding the malice root, if they've been sucking life out of the area around them and feeding it ganondorf, is it possible that depths were once a lively ecosystem brimming with life? But Ganondorf's malice roots appearing resulted in all life being sucked out of the depth? After all there isn't exactly much wild life down there anymore besides the gloom enemies and the decayed looking trees and muddlebuds, bomb flowers and puff shrooms?
There must've been several monsters down there around the time of the Calamity, but otherwise I imagine the place is practically lifeless outside of the flora. We don't get much of an idea of how long Ganondorf was in the Depths for before his sealing, so it's very possible there was a whole other ecosystem down there that was driven to extinction by the Calamities.
In the eighth heroine statue you find the Tingle mask, implying that the Hylian voe was not actually Link but rather...Tingle. Though you find the rest of the Tingle set elsewhere, so probably not.
Nah, Tingle was just exploring to get some rupees. Gotta get that tower built for sky-daddy (This is a deep "Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland cut, and I understand if no one gets it)
Little fun fact: if you talk to Purah while wearing the Ancient Hero’s Aspect, she’ll say her normal dialogue, then compliment you when she’s done talking.
When ever I see the ghost of the soldier in the depths it gives me back memories of ocarina of time snd majora's mask when the soldier is just there slowy dying in the alley and the the soldier from majora's mask when no one but Link can see him wavering for someone to notice him
Another detail is that when you dive down to the demon kings army and look around you can see that Ganondorf is actually sitting in a big tree with gloom being it’s leafs.
I heard a theory that the massive hole beneath Gloom's Origin is actually a passage to the underworld and the path Demise originally took to reach the surface. I'm not sure I totally believe that, but several hints do make it seem plausible. The tree itself seems to come from the hole, as if it's growing from hell itself, and Gloom's Origin is a fitting name for the location where the original Demon King first emerged.
The game does not miss with environmental story telling. not only can you see those soldier's under the monuments, but if you actually pay attention to the Poe locations, they're more gathered where MANY people might've died during the Calamity.
i actually realized something while watching this again after my day. The Ancient Hero armor. the Ancient Hero from the first calamity being Zonai means something even more insane: The Zonai are still out there. They returned during the First Calamity. Where they are now is unknown.
I love that nintendo has made a sequel that answers, or at least makes large contributions towards answering, lots of the questions that players had from botw, but still manage to fill our brains with so many more questions! The shadow warriors in the ancient depths of the world that connect to modern day Hyrule's soldiers, and disappear if you try to take their pictures, just chef's kiss addition, as if this new environment wasn't already confusing enough to try and figure out the deal of, that single addition adds so much depth (if you'll excuse the pun) to the world and how it works.
The soldiers disappearing is actually a game camera proximity thing; if you get too close to the soldiers with Link and move the camera near them, they'll disappear same as with the camera rune. You can take their picture from the bottom of their stone piles!
Notice that the Ancient Hero has markings on his body that resemble the markings on Queen Sonia's body? Is he the descendant of King Rauru and Queen Sonia? A Hylian/Zonai hybrid?
So, I remember discovering the Ancient Hero's Aspect and freaking the heck out. XD Here's something that I discovered: put on the Glow/Miner set and then switch to the Ancient Hero's Aspect. You'll see that the helmet and even the legs match with the Ancient Hero's Aspect! Meaning that maybe the Ancient Hero used or maybe even created this set.
@@shannonhill3356 That's why I think the ancient hero was a Hylian, rather than a Zonai. Miner's gear was made for Hylian miners (given it fits Link, like the Armor of the Wild specifically mentions all pieces fitting Link exactly) and the AHA fits him perfectly, while being a copy of miner's gear in ways. I heard a theory that the ancient Sheikah built their technology by studying the Zonai relics left behind. Taking that to be true I think, in addition to creating the Divine Beasts and Master Cycle Zero for the Champions and the Hero from the knowledge they gleaned from the Zonai tech, they gave the Hero the most powerful armour they could to face the Calamity - a relic from the Zonai era which when worn channels the inner spirit to manifest as the wearers' spirit beast.
The roots was so interesting. I thought they led to the Great Deku tree but when they didn't ungloom when I saved the Great Deku tree even in that forest area I was confused. I am going to rexamin the roots in that forest closer now. Thank you so much for highlighting this very big parts of the story.
It's NOT JUST the Temple of Time side quest where you learn about the Sky Islands going up X'D There's a side quest about 13 stone slabs that are found on the sky islands that give more backstory into Rauru, Sonia, Mineru, and Zelda as told from the perspective of a chamberlain that served the royal family. You can only start that little side quest only AFTER you gain the Camera Feature and you find the first slab at Lookout Landing ;3
I think that ancient hero is actually a Zonai/Hylian hybrid, based solely on the features... As for why current Zelda and the rest of the royal family haven't looked like Zonai in ages, any hybrid offspring that bred with pure Hylians over and over again over the ages would slowly breed out the Zonai genetics after long enough time passed. That's why the current royal family looks like normal Hylians.
I wonder if the ancient hero was an ancient prince then. Maybe even the son of Sonia and Rauru (or a grandchild, I suppose). Although, I suppose it's not impossible theirs was the only union of Hylians and Zonai. But it is implied to have developed after the other Zonai disappeared, so they seem to be the most likely candidates.
That still really confuses me though, mostly due to how hybrids would work in Hyrule. You'd expect there to be more hybrids in a world where inter-race pairings are so normal, and sharing their blood with another race would cause massive problems for the Gerudo. My assumption was just that the child would be the same race as the female, but this Ancient Hero causes several questions.
The Eighth Heroine could have also been a Tingle. Since the reward was his hat. I can picture him showing up in the heroine's moment of need with a rallying warcry of inspiration for one last push. That warcry being his famous catchphrase of "Tingle Tingle Kooloo-Limpah!" Those are Tingle's magic words, which they didn't steal. ;)
The quest appears once you complete the water temple I tested it recently. I also thought it was after grabbing the Zora armor but nope. 😂 Also any go in the depths below Satori mountain 🙃 cute secret there as well 😉
theory time: maybe the hero aspect is a hylian / zonai hybrid, a descendent of sonja and rauru i mean the ears are more hylian and no 3rd eye, but the rest is more zonai other theorie: the dragons: Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra where zonai before they become dragons 1st the amor set in game looks zonai 2nd the ears of the dragon looks like rauru ears (big floopy like) compared to the light dragon which has more hylian ear features i love the details in this game
Not technically a secret but aside from all the amazingly fun interactions with the Yiga once you obtained their outfit, there's also hidden dialogue with the Gerudo guards in Lookout Landing and especially Impa and several other Sheikah in Kakariku if you run around there wearing the outfit - the Sheikah reactions gave me a guilty conscience 😅 Also, for some reason you can dye the Yiga outfit and no one minds despite the fact that several Yiga complain about your blonde hair and stress that the Yiga are supposed to be a monolith look-wise.
That one split apart frieze was tricky AF though... I must have passed it like 20 times looking for the others... And half I stumbled to on accident, still didn't find that one until I was trying to spy on the class to see if I could pretend to be one of the dummies as a little Vai suggests lol.
@@michaellane5381 i struggled at first with the stelae or whatever they're called, until i realized Riju's sandseal will give you the exact coordinates for each of them if you're on that quest and give the seal splash fruit
i love it when you include the skyloft song in your videos.... its one of the best and brings good memories of playing SS another thing that made me super happy was when the goddess statue in the forgotten temple gives you the skyward sword. it's just solidifying one of the most famous theories and it was so cool to have that confirmation from the devs.
Doesn't the set bonus just increase the damage it does? Range is determined by heart containers. Or does it actually do both? BTW, on a slightly related note, the Champion's Leathers/Tunic of Memories will let you use sword beams regardless of heart containers, but obviously the less you have, the shorter the range. But it's still nice because generally you need to be at full health for the beams.
I'm confused how the hero's aspect can be the tapestry hero, because mineru says the sheikah tech is far beyond their time, yet the tapestry shows the hero alongside the guardians
Well the tapestry hero stopped the calamity that happened 10,000 years ago. Mineru (and Zelda after she was recalled) lived even further back than that to an undisclosed timeframe we still have no idea exactly when it took place, could be 20,000 years ago or more. If the tapestry hero was indeed Zonai, then that means some, or at least 1, continued to live on/reproduce from the imprisoning war until the first great calamity.
It's never really clear what happened to the Zonai; all we get is Ganondorf saying they no longer grace the world with their presence. Maybe some of them continued to live in the Sky, then came back down around the time of the Ancient Calamity.
Don't know if there's anything gere but I had a thought that the great bandit misko could have either been a link or a group title by generations of links just due to all the frigging stuff he has, but again idk if there's anything here just a thought
I think that the ancient hero from 10,000 years ago could be Sonia's and raurus kid. We don't know how long a zonai could live but we can assume it's very long. And the princess we see on the tapestry could also be their kid. We know that races usually only take the form of one parent if it's a biracial relationship. So maybe the princess took Sonia's appearance and the hero aspects hero could have taken a zonai form with some mutations. This would all obviously be after Sonia's murder and Raurus sacrifice.
I really like this theory, the only thing some people have brought up when it’s suggested the aspect is at least part zonai, is the tail which they argued Rauru and Mineru do not have. I didn’t see tails on them either, but tbh hard to say what Rauru has under his hair mane lol and Mineru doesn’t get a lot of screen time from behind, but yeah I never saw tails either. The aspect reminds me somewhat of the design of the Minish, somewhat beady eyes, a mouse-like face, the tail. Obviously there is a huge size difference, but since Vaati and Ezlo were able to become human-sized, perhaps it’s possible there is a relationship there we haven’t seen expounded on yet. Notable to me is also that the zonai “eye” symbol looks much more like Vaati’s than the sheikah eye. Another hiccup is the red hair, which perhaps suggests Gerudo? More questions than answers came with this armor 😅
Or maybe the mixing of different races with the zonai because the zonai are really powerful and God-like, maybe making a baby with one creates an almost new race.
Nice vid! I just came back to the internet after beating the game. Know what would be cool? A complication of stuff you have done since TOTK came out for those like me crawling out from under the rocks just now.
So the Hero's Aspect.... What if that is the visage of Rauru and Sonia's son? I mean, it does look somewhere between Hylian and Zonai. Not as tall as a Zonai, nor with as big of ears. But the resemblance is there. And we know that Sonia HAD to have at least one child as her bloodline is what leads on to Zelda.
So I had something kind of weird I noticed. While playing TotK I went to the Taobab grasslands (where you find the giant horse in BotW) and killed a gloom spawn. Looking around the same area I noticed that several trees looked like they had pictures on them. I couldn’t tell what they all were, I think there was an arrow though. I tried to follow them but didn’t find anything, maybe it’s just the texture and I’m just crazy idk.
Based on BotW's tale of the 8th heroine, it'd likely be the ancestor of Master Kohga, who seemingly formed the Yiga clan, and are sworn enemies of the Gerudo (and Sheikah). The Gerudo turning him away likely led to the situation we see now.
I don’t think so, pretty sure the chamberlain is someone else we’ve never seen since 5, 7, and 10-12 all discuss Mineru herself in the third person. I’m still curious as to their identity and have heard zero theories discussing who he or she might have been. All we know is that whoever they were, they developed a closer relationship with Zelda herself.
I thought for the Mysterious identity was implying that Tingle was the eighth gerudo heroine because you found Tingle's hat behind the eighth statue. Unless I'm remembering wrong.
Further on that train of thought. I think that major geographical changes happened around the map that remnants remain of and we will encounter as we get into the origin of these dragons. I think that Spectacle Rock is in fact the OLD death mountain with the 7 Heroines sealing the culdara and statues built in this remnant crater. I also belive whatever blasted the hole in Hebra Peek also cracked the earth opening the giant Tanager Canyon. Clearly also all the land masses in the sky were also once part of the ground further adjusting the shape of the overworld in the past.
Sure the Great Sky Island was raised in preparation for Link's TOTK awakening, and the Star Islands to narrate past events. What about the other Sky Archipelagos? What was the lore or purpose behind the other sky islands?
Regarding the soldier ghosts: The Yiga point out in one of their journals in the Depths that where the ghosts are supposed to be, only the weapon appears to float in the air. This signifies that the Yiga, and perhaps many others aren’t actually able to see the ghosts. Maybe Link is the only one
My problem with the ancient hero being a Zonai is that he honestly doesn't look like a Zonai. The ears are too small, plus Rauru and Mineru each had black or gray skin with white, almost wool-like hair, the ancient hero had green skin and red hair. Plus the ancient hero appears to be fairly dog-like where as the Zonai are clearly meant to be llamas and alpacas. Finally, if we take the period between the first and second calamities as a benchmark, it indicates that Ganondorf had already been sealed away for 10,000 years by the time the first Calamity Ganon arose. The Zonai had all but gone extinct by Ganondorf's time, so how could the ancient hero be a Zonai? It's possible that he was of Zonai descent, like Zelda is, and that he suffered some kind genetic mutation that just made him look like that (maybe Mineru had a Hylian husband), but again the canine features clash with Zonai.
Also, the aspect has a tail. Zonais don't have tails as far as we know. The only dog-like / rodent-like race I could think of in Zelda lore are Goyiras, but they are described as devils
3 little, theories: 1: What if Queen Gidbo is a gloom corrupted Bluepee? 2: what if Mucktorock is a gloom corrupted octorock? 3: What if Colgera is a gloom corrupted Deep Firefly? Haven't thought further then this but, it's an idea
If the ones who carry respective weapons of their group / race / something (eightfold long blade for Yiga, Zora spears with zora figures in the depths) and such, it would be cool if it exists.
I noticed this by accident the other day and I just have to share! When you look at Dragonhead Island from the sky map menu, there are those smaller islands north of it that almost look like they're "breaking away" from the head itself. Obvious enough... however, there are 12 of these islands. I don't think this is a coincidence, considering there are 12 Dragon's Tears in total to look for in the game.
I think it's likely the ancient hero is from a different tribe of zonai, ones from far earlier who were located on the surface. The Sky zonai look an awfully lot different from the "modern" zonai
I don’t know if anyone already pointed this out, but as for the gloom roots that you talked about. If you read the journals at the Yiga bases in the depths, there is at least one of them that talks about the roots. Sorry, I don’t remember which one.
The tablet never specifies that it was a Hylian voe just that it was a voe that helped them. I still feel it's likely to be an Incarnation of The Hero, specifically the one depicted by the Ancient Hero's Aspect. He may also be the one mentioned in the Zora Monument as it speaks of The Hero fighting with Ruto and the Hylian Princess far before the creation of the Divine Beasts (the Divine Beast part is only mentioned in the BotW version of the tablet). The events in the BotW version make it pretty clear it's talking about OoT but the details added in the TotK version don't line up with Ruto's actions and could point to a different Ruto from another calamity between the Sealing of Ganondorf and the Ancient Calamity unless Sidon is just conflating the events of several battles with Ganondorf I had the idea that the Ancient Hero's Aspect may have depicted an Incarnation of The Hero from roughly Rauru's time, specifically just before it, as he and Mineru are said to be the last of the Zonai and The Hero (if he is Zonai) being nowhere to be found or heard of during the events in the past. (Can't be there to fight the Demon King if he had just born and died to early) But if he was before Rauru there can't have been a princess for him to have teamed up with (unless an older kingdom was forgotten which is possible from some theories on the timeline, again Sidon may have just mixed together multiple fight was Ganon and BotW clearly talks about OoT) If he was concurrent with the events of the past it can line up with Zelda's presences as the princess and the Sage possibly being named Ruto there but if so where was he in the rest of the memories or the fight against Ganondorf? Now, after all these thought I had. If you just talk to Impa while wearing the Ancient Hero's Aspect after completing the tears quest she basically confirms it is THE Ancient Hero from the last Calamity, meaning he also can't be from the Zora Monument because the Divine Beast thing. Can still be the Eighth Heroin tho, also possible that he isn't actually Zonai and is just another race we don't know of yet explaining Rauru & Mineru still being the last
btw the legend of the great sky island quest is available after two temples. I got the zora armour before any temples and after two i was able to do it
@@Sarah_H Have you been breaking those weapons? You have to break the base weapon (fused or unfused) before it even has a chance to appear. And then, as noted above, only certain soldier statues will spawn them randomly. It is annoying to farm them, but a lot of people overlook you need to break the weapons first.
@@Sarah_H did you know that pristine weapons don't appear until you've broken the decayed counterpart? I think this is to prevent you from going to the depths and immediately getting pristine knight gear when you just made a boko reaper with a stick.
I've logged about 250 hours into the game and I am about to take on the Master Sword quest, but I'm so enraptured by the lore so far. I hadn't done the Eight Heroine yet, so I had to skip that part, but I'm allowing myself some mini spoilers lol. Great work, as always!
Now knowing what we do about the 8th Heroine, I'm curious about how many Gerudo Guards are in that first Gibdo rush. I wonder if they hinted/nodded at that, but I doubt it.
Spoilers for the end of the game if you haven't finished it yet. I was wondering if you can anything to say about the Ganon-dragon. He's the only dragon that has a secret stone on its body to destroy, which leads to Ganon's destruction. Aside from gameplay reasons, why do you think there's that big difference? Because he's evil? Because he got his secret stone through stealing/force/murder? Also in the Ganondorf battle, he's capable of completely removing Link's hearts/heart containers, not just locking them off from gloom damage. Do you think there's any particular lore there or is it just a matter of "he got stronger"? Also interesting how Link has regained all those heart containers once he's in the dragon fight. I'm also curious if you think there's a chance that Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh perhaps weren't born of swallowing stones/draconification? That they were maybe "natural" dragons and draconification is forbidden for impersonating these beings (or it's forbidden because there was someone who draconified and became troublesome and had to be killed like Ganon somehow). Unlikely, but it's just a thought. Because then there would be some "duplicate" secret stones, since the sages already/still have fire/lightning powers. Though I suppose it's not the secret stones that have the powers, they're just vessels for sages and whatever their powers may be. Or new secret stones appear if they're used up in draconification. Speaking of, where did the secret stones come from?
⏰ I’m convinced that traveling through time will be the centerpiece of the next (40th anniversary) Zelda game. Possibly going back before the calamity and causing towns and temples we see today to vanish because of a time traveling villain (creating time-phenomenon for link to undo) I think we will discover the 3 dragons have the triforce all along and Link, as the ancient hero, interact with the Zonai before they become these dragons and release them. I also think we will see dueling peeks as one mountain and Necluda as Lake Hylia as ways of changing the map.
Looking at the appearance of the Ancient Hero's Aspect, it doesn't look fully Zonai. Now maybe that's just down to it being worn by Link but what if it's not? We more or less get confirmation that Sonia had children with Rauru (this raises so many questions) meaning that it's possible for there to be Zonai-Hylian hybrids. Nothing says the chosen hero can't be of royal blood, though it's never happened in the games before, so it could be that the Ancient Hero was a descendant of Sonia and Rauru (there's no reason a previous iteration of Link and Zelda can't be siblings; they aren't always love interests in the games after all), or some other Zonai-Hylian pairing we don't see or hear about. The latter seems more likely as far as theories go but I do think that the Ancient Hero was a hybrid.
I have a thought about ears. It seems like Sonia has unusually long ones. Perhaps she is part Zonai, and this is an example of how the Zonai and Hylians came together, hence Hylians having pointed ears. 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe? Idk.
Not a major secret, but Impa will comment on Link’s appearance being like that of the Ancient Hero if he’s wearing the Aspect, once she’s made her way to Kakariko. Also, your hair looks fantastic in that outro, sir. Like the change in style to having you on screen during that part. Cheers!
Tinfoil hat theory, the Ancient Hero's Aspect is meant to represent the full Triforce Reasoning: He looks like an amalgamation of Rauru, Sonia, and Ganondorf (he's a Zonai = Rauru, bodypaint = Sonia, red hair = Ganondorf). Ganondorf has historically held the Triforce of Power, Sonia is a Queen of Hyrule/Zelda's ancestor so she has the Triforce of Wisdom, and Rauru sacrificed himself to imprison the Demon King, so he holds the Triforce of Courage (not actually since we never see the Triforce in TotK except as the Royal Family of Hyrule's emblem, this is pure wild speculation). The Hero's Aspect embodies all three of these aspects as what is necessary to put an end to the Demon King/evil
How can the ancient hero be zonai if calamity Ganon comes from Ganondorf AFTER he's sealed by the last remaining zonai? I just can't figure out how this fits. Amazing video!!
Have you noticed that Tauro, the man who stands next to Paya, has a prominent lens around his neck? I hope I don't have to spell out the fact that a man with in kakariko village wishes to know the truth of that which is unseen.
One thing that my Sister brought up while I was playing Tears of the Kingdom is that there was TWO Zeldas. I initially didn't believe her at first but I still listened. She said that the light dragon was wandering around for thousands of years which means that the Light dragon must have existed in the events of Botw(assuming both botw and totk are in the same timeline and totk takes place after totk) so before Zelda and link encountered Ganondorf there would be two zeldas, one in her dragon form and one on the ground. What do you think about this since this is pretty fascinating. Edit:Something that may disprove this theory is the master sword being located in the great deku tree in botw and the light dragon in torn but this is still pretty confusing and needing to be addressed .
Anyways, I was saying that but I would say there is two master swords until zelda goes back in time in Totk and turns into light dragon. Yeah Ik how confusing this is but That’s what I thought. Tbh, I’m just glad I got credit.
The red hair itself feels contrary to the zonai. What if a descendent of Rauru or Mineru married a Gerudo woman? So the hero would have Zonai, Gerudo and hylian blood
it isnt a mystery that the soldier ghosts are dead. Me as a noob went into the depths, found my first ghost thing-y and LITERALLY THOUGHT; it's a dead guy blocked from the afterlife, *takes sword* SAY HI TO MY DOG FOR ME!
I would think the 8th heroine would be the ancient hero and not link. Those statues are old as hell. And the ancient hero looks like more of a Zonai/Hylean hybrid than strictly Zonai.
@@HyruleGamer I've been wandering around and trying to make some sort of sense of the locations for the poes since there is clearly at times at least a passing similarity from the depths to the surface. Generally large and Grand poes and their locations are the most obvious like the two in the lovers pond etc Generally i'll switch between maps and set a tag while exploring and then go back to the surface and see where the various poes might be residing.

I love this interpretation!
Now, imagine if the soldier ghosts had a random chance turn into Darknuts when you take their weapon. 😅
Like Ganondorf impersonating a soldier ghost.

Hard to say. Ganondorf has only just awakened and he was in a different area prior to his awakening, where none of those roots were.
Gotta get that tower built for sky-daddy
(This is a deep "Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland cut, and I understand if no one gets it)
Little fun fact: if you talk to Purah while wearing the Ancient Hero’s Aspect, she’ll say her normal dialogue, then compliment you when she’s done talking.
And will heavily diss you if you're wearing the Yiga armor :')
& the music that plays while facing the army is a remix of phantom ganon theme from wind waker
For the ancient hero one, when you talk to purah she will recognize you and point out that you look like the ancient hero
I believe Tauro as well!
@@HyruleGamer and Impa too
Notice that the Ancient Hero has markings on his body that resemble the markings on Queen Sonia's body? Is he the descendant of King Rauru and Queen Sonia? A Hylian/Zonai hybrid?
So, I remember discovering the Ancient Hero's Aspect and freaking the heck out. XD
Here's something that I discovered: put on the Glow/Miner set and then switch to the Ancient Hero's Aspect. You'll see that the helmet and even the legs match with the Ancient Hero's Aspect! Meaning that maybe the Ancient Hero used or maybe even created this set.
Or…like, the ancient hero came from an entire race of people who may have used mining suits…
I've had looks into the designs of the armour that is of zonai origin and they all seem to have four toes. And to my knowledge hylians have five toes.
I am so honored that you mentioned my notice of the gloom roots in this video.
It's a great notice of detail and that you didn't make the mistake I did and think it was the Great Deku trees roots just infected.
The roots was so interesting. I thought they led to the Great Deku tree but when they didn't ungloom when I saved the Great Deku tree even in that forest area I was confused. I am going to rexamin the roots in that forest closer now. Thank you so much for highlighting this very big parts of the story.
I thought they were just regular roots, imagine my surprise when I started taking damage lol
Once you have the hero's aspect, Many Sheikah will comment on it such as Impa and Purah.
That's what I was thinking, too.
That warcry being his famous catchphrase of "Tingle Tingle Kooloo-Limpah!" Those are Tingle's magic words, which they didn't steal. ;)
Lmao when he used to say don’t steal his words I would always think whatever weirdo I ain’t saying that shit 😂😂
The quest appears once you complete the water temple I tested it recently. I also thought it was after grabbing the Zora armor but nope. 😂 Also any go in the depths below Satori mountain 🙃 cute secret there as well 😉
Oh nice!
Under Satori mountain is so beautiful ❤️
I haven’t completed it and it’s there.
The burrow?
@@michaellane5381 Yes the burrow!
theory time:
maybe the hero aspect is a hylian / zonai hybrid, a descendent of sonja and rauru
i mean the ears are more hylian and no 3rd eye, but the rest is more zonai
other theorie:
the dragons: Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra where zonai before they become dragons
1st the amor set in game looks zonai
2nd the ears of the dragon looks like rauru ears (big floopy like) compared to the light dragon which has more hylian ear features
i love the details in this game
Not technically a secret but aside from all the amazingly fun interactions with the Yiga once you obtained their outfit, there's also hidden dialogue with the Gerudo guards in Lookout Landing and especially Impa and several other Sheikah in Kakariku if you run around there wearing the outfit - the Sheikah reactions gave me a guilty conscience 😅 Also, for some reason you can dye the Yiga outfit and no one minds despite the fact that several Yiga complain about your blonde hair and stress that the Yiga are supposed to be a monolith look-wise.
If you wear the Yiga armor in Gerudo town they'll throw you in jail too 😂
@@12parakeetsinahumansuit OMG, really?! I need to try that, that's awesome 😂
I love the amount of details in this game, especially seeing all the poes and realizing where the deaths happened.
The eighth heroine mystery is my favorite. I loved discovering that one, and the quest was very fun.
I agree! Very fun :D
@@jennilocke yeah, the part with the balls I had to do that as well, but the first part I tried finishing before Patricia was there.
i love it when you include the skyloft song in your videos.... its one of the best and brings good memories of playing SS
another thing that made me super happy was when the goddess statue in the forgotten temple gives you the skyward sword. it's just solidifying one of the most famous theories and it was so cool to have that confirmation from the devs.
I love how you always read our comments and consider our theories/thoughts!
I try
The hero's aspect also gives the master sword beam longer range
That's really cool!
@@HyruleGameryes I agree, it proves that the master sword was used by the hero 10,000 years ago who wore the hero's aspect.
It does have the set bonus of master sword beam up
Doesn't the set bonus just increase the damage it does? Range is determined by heart containers. Or does it actually do both?
BTW, on a slightly related note, the Champion's Leathers/Tunic of Memories will let you use sword beams regardless of heart containers, but obviously the less you have, the shorter the range. But it's still nice because generally you need to be at full health for the beams.
@@drygnfyre wow thank you! I had no idea. I'll definitely use the champion's leathers more now that I know that.
Around the shadows that offer pristine weapons there seems to be a fiery smoke that has similar colors to the "poison" in the royal tomb in oot
The ancient hero is a descendant but might have hit the genetic lottery and ended up taking after the zonai in a way.
Thanks! (and cool idea, we shall see!)
THANK YOU for pointing out where the trio soldiers are cuz I’ve been trying to find em 😭 found one once and was so stoked
Miniru was the author of the flower sky lslands story if you take pictures of all the text on the front of the Islands and bring them to Wosworth.
The new outro scene is really nice
Thanks!
I really like purple....
You know, some people said that the eighth heroine side quest reward sucked. Obviously they cared nothing for Zelda lore.
TBH i follow all the zeldatubers but you've becoming my favorite, that sexy accent may be the reason
3 little, theories:
1: What if Queen Gidbo is a gloom corrupted Bluepee?
2: what if Mucktorock is a gloom corrupted octorock?
3: What if Colgera is a gloom corrupted Deep Firefly?
Haven't thought further then this but, it's an idea
This is interesting, especially the dragon fly.
Thanks, thought of it when I saw the creatures and then saw the boss designs
If the ones who carry respective weapons of their group / race / something (eightfold long blade for Yiga, Zora spears with zora figures in the depths) and such, it would be cool if it exists.
I noticed this by accident the other day and I just have to share!
When you look at Dragonhead Island from the sky map menu, there are those smaller islands north of it that almost look like they're "breaking away" from the head itself. Obvious enough... however, there are 12 of these islands. I don't think this is a coincidence, considering there are 12 Dragon's Tears in total to look for in the game.
I already did some of these quests (the Eighth Heroen quest just today) and they were super interesting.
The events in the BotW version make it pretty clear it's talking about OoT but the details added in the TotK version don't line up with Ruto's actions and could point to a different Ruto from another calamity between the Sealing of Ganondorf and the Ancient Calamity unless Sidon is just conflating the events of several battles with Ganondorf
I had the idea that the Ancient Hero's Aspect may have depicted an Incarnation of The Hero from roughly Rauru's time, specifically just before it, as he and Mineru are said to be the last of the Zonai and The Hero (if he is Zonai) being nowhere to be found or heard of during the events in the past. (Can't be there to fight the Demon King if he had just born and died to early)
But if he was before Rauru there can't have been a princess for him to have teamed up with (unless an older kingdom was forgotten which is possible from some theories on the timeline, again Sidon may have just mixed together multiple fight was Ganon and BotW clearly talks about OoT)
If he was concurrent with the events of the past it can line up with Zelda's presences as the princess and the Sage possibly being named Ruto there but if so where was he in the rest of the memories or the fight against Ganondorf?
Now, after all these thought I had.
If you just talk to Impa while wearing the Ancient Hero's Aspect after completing the tears quest she basically confirms it is THE Ancient Hero from the last Calamity, meaning he also can't be from the Zora Monument because the Divine Beast thing. Can still be the Eighth Heroin tho, also possible that he isn't actually Zonai and is just another race we don't know of yet explaining Rauru & Mineru still being the last
btw the legend of the great sky island quest is available after two temples. I got the zora armour before any temples and after two i was able to do it
You find Tingle's hood at the large 8th Heroine statue. That could suggest that the 8th could be Tingle, not Link.
I just wish the Ancient Hero's Aspect had a different armor effect
That bit about the ghostish soldiers in the depths is pretty cool too think about hmmmmmm
I personally believe that the gloom roots are somehow connected to ganon's awesome hair - they kind of look like locks of hair
I just wish more soldiers had Royal Guard's gear.
Apparently these are locked to specific locations in the depths.
The only one I know is the gerudo highlands region of the depths.
Or just plain Royal gear. I haven't found ANY pristine Royal Halberds yet and have only found one pristine Royal Claymore 😭
Some have said the Eighth Heroine is the Ancient Hero who fought the first Great Calamity
The Ancient Hero’s Aspect further implies this.
I've logged about 250 hours into the game and I am about to take on the Master Sword quest, but I'm so enraptured by the lore so far. I hadn't done the Eight Heroine yet, so I had to skip that part, but I'm allowing myself some mini spoilers lol. Great work, as always!
Cheers!
Day ?? Of asking Hyrule gamer to do a theory of the dark skeletons under the leviathan skeletons in the depths.
👀
just got the ancient hero set thing by beating all shrines today lol
Cheers!
6:05 I figured it was A Link not this Link specifically given just how old the Statues are.
Thanks for posting another video!!! You are the best😊
You're very welcome, enjoy!
What I think, is that your irl hair is almost like OoT Link's hair, you just need to comb the curtains middle part to be more prominent. So do it.
FTR, the Hero's aspect has digitagrade feet, Zonai have plantigrade.
So, there is something else going on here.
Tinfoil hat theory, the Ancient Hero's Aspect is meant to represent the full Triforce
Reasoning:
He looks like an amalgamation of Rauru, Sonia, and Ganondorf (he's a Zonai = Rauru, bodypaint = Sonia, red hair = Ganondorf).
I took a risk with the spoilers but it didn’t give too much away! Thanks for keeping it mostly spoiler free
Do a theory on why there's so many koroks travelling pls (I think it's cuz the gloom in koroks forest but it could be something idk)
Can you do a theory about poes?
Something I find odd is that zonai armour we find usually has four toes but Rauru had five.
i didnt know number 1 3 or 4 great job dude it rare when i dont know everything XD

That gloom root one is so cool
These must be the ghosts of the soldiers that died during the Great calamity
near 300 hours and still never saw the 3 soldier ghosts together, wow
With the eighth heroine, what if that was the ancient hero who wore the ancient hero's aspect? What do u think?
Oooh interesting take, very well could be!
The roots thing is seriously cool and chilling.
Yup!
Yeah i’m that sister.
Anyways, I was saying that but I would say there is two master swords until zelda goes back in time in Totk and turns into light dragon. Yeah Ik how confusing this is but That’s what I thought. Tbh, I’m just glad I got credit.
Do any of Gannon's final speeches change if you approach him wearing the ancient hero armor?
I assumed that he was the child of Sonya and the king because it just makes sense 😮
The red hair itself feels contrary to the zonai.
What if a descendent of Rauru or Mineru married a Gerudo woman?
So the hero would have Zonai, Gerudo and hylian blood
The 8th heroine was either link or ganondorf when he was good
Anyone else 100% think the ghost soldiers were gonna be a fight if you tried to take the weapon?
it isnt a mystery that the soldier ghosts are dead.
What is the link between Poes in the depths and the mirrored places these poes would be residing in on the surface world?
Or were they died during the Calamity. I could see both being possible!
@@HyruleGamer I've been wandering around and trying to make some sort of sense of the locations for the poes since there is clearly at times at least a passing similarity from the depths to the surface. Generally large and Grand poes and their locations are the most obvious like the two in the lovers pond etc
Generally i'll switch between maps and set a tag while exploring and then go back to the surface and see where the various poes might be residing.
what if gannon is not just a person but he is the world sense he’s connected to the ground now

I don't think the Ancient Hero's Aspect looks 100% Zonai. It looks more like the statues of the unidentified race found in the Depths.
The three pieces that make it up are definitely of Zonai origin. Which for me, indicates Zonai :)
