1970 mercury cyclone spoiler
This car was built for one of the Philco ford executives
this car is one of one
Fully loaded with ac power windows and console
429 cobra jet
3.0 traction-lok rear
My parents had a 1970 Cyclone GT. Love your car!
Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing it.
That's one the most unique and beautiful cars i have ever seen.
The best looking American muscle car of the time. YES PLEASE.
I have two model kits of the Mercury Cyclone. I have a 1970 model in the same shade of orange and a 1971 model in red.
Absolutely beautiful car, great work!
If that car ever comes up for sale let me know.I had a plain Jane 70 Cyclone that color when I was a kid. My Dad owned several NASCAR tracks & he bought it from Holland-Moody with a NASCAR spec 429 Boss. I also had a 69 with a 427 tunnel port, the tunnel port was faster. But a 69 is 200-300 lbs lighter.
He did an excellent job on that sweet car. I love these cars. Only came with the 429 or 429cj. His is one of only sixteen made with the hideaway headlights. His car sounds so nice. It’s a big car and that paint job is perfect. Thanks to both of you for the video of it.
The Spoiler model had the 429. The others were available with other powerplants such as 351 V8.
My first car (green) The color was actually Competition Gold (U Code) from the factory. Gorgeous car
Gorgeous! My dad owned a green one when I was a kid he loved his cyclone! Beautiful time machine never sell
BEA Utiful
A really nice car. It's great to have a 4-speed with power windows and a/c. I love the color and the wheels. He did a great job of restoring it.
The only thing I see wrong with it is it has
Ford wheels instead of Mercury wheels. The factory Mercury wheels on these were 14s so a lot of people put Ford 15s on them. Same wheels as a Cougar. The neatest wheels to go on these are the factory 15s off of an X-100.
These are some of the most stylistically unique muscle cars of the era.
Grandpa is a lucky guy.
That is the coolest car I have ever seen. Thanks for posting
I had a 70 Spoiler, competition blue/white interior, a/c, 429cj, automatic. Also had a 70 Cyclone GT in competition gold w/351 4v.
Gorgeous!!!! Just Gorgeous!!!!!
i had 69 cyclone GT drag pack 4 spd ram air. was my 2nd car...learned how to drive 4 spd with it ;)
I know this car....I oogle over it at Carlisle every year. Its absolutly perfect. Its one of the reasons im trying to find one.
Good luck finding one 😅 only made that body style 70-71 just found my dad's 71 mercury montego mx a couples days ago and he sold it 12 years ago! I'm glad it's back home
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Beautiful car. Wish it qas mine!
I love it Rich!
In 1970 when I was 11 my cousin came over with a new car said I couldn't tell him what it was.. I started looking around and my dad said no cheating when I glanced in the interior my cousin said it's okay he had taken every piece of identification off the car so I said it's a Ford product but I don't know looks like it's got a bit of Pontiac in the nose..
Beautiful car! My Buddy had the Torino equivalent same colour what I thought was called Vermilion.
Mercury called it Completion Orange, Ford called it Calypso Coral.
Vermilion is what Ford called red interior.
WOW!!!
A rare beauty indeed that you could buy from "The Sign Of The Cat". Sounds great, and like it has a lope in the idle. Did your grandfather install a high lift cam in the engine?
I had a chance to buy this exact car (same color, same 429 SCJ) with under 30,000 miles when I was 17 for $1,650. Like an idiot I didn't buy it. The only thing about this car that I wasn't crazy about was the bulbous nose, a flat nose and grill would have been very sexy. Awesome car none the less. Bonus side story - the same year that I passed on this car I passed on a 1969 440 Daytona for $2,000, still kicking myself for this mistake. I ended up buying a '74 Trans Am 455 SD when I was 18 and a drunk driving incident totalled that car a couple years later. Those are my sad muscle car stories that scarred me lol.
Man. Each one of those is a tear jerker.
What color is that
THAT IS SWEET, DONT SELL IT WHATEVER YOU DO.....YOUR HEART WILL BE BROKEN
Pretty neat that the cyclone shares the same body as the Torino coupe and not the fast back. I wonder why this is?
I wondered the same thing too. I also noticed the Mercury Montego/Cyclone didn't get convertibles for 1970 either (I suspect that would have eaten into Cougar convertible sales).
My dad had a 70 cyclone GT we restored not a spoiler I drove it to my graduation and my prom it was Calypso Coral Orange 429 Cobra Jet C6 automatic spoiler gauges factory power windows and AC and someone offered him a ridiculous amount of money one day in Tennessee at the rod run and he sold it
Aww. There went a birthright.

It's an exclusive muscle car . Yet you have said nothing it makes it so!
What is the value of one of those?
over a hundred thousand now
Is it for sale?
"What's the name of the color?" "Orange" oh😂
I think they called it competition orange.
